C'REAL you’re right, but I’m A Nerd is asking how to wash the fabric without compromising the design. Hmm. First, I would check the care tag on the fabric/jacket/canvas itself to figure out how it needs to be taken care of. Then, when you purchase your spray paint or chosen medium, check to see if there are any care instructions if there are any. If there aren’t, I would personally test out a scrap piece of fabric first in the wash to see if everything sticks. If that doesn’t work out, it would most likely become a piece that is only able to be spot-cleaned. I hope this helps!

I spraypaint. No way that stays nice after 3 washes. Paint will flake. And I'd be worried about the old paint getting stuck in the dryer.

Does this thpe of application stand up to wear and tear? Does it stand up to washing? Im trying to find the best route to airbrusha 100% nylon sports jacket and i want it to stand the test of time and be functional clothing

i would paint it with acrylic colors cause this technique is not safe. the colours would wash off 😣

Hey Sara! I need an answer. My jacket that I'm working on is a dark olive-ish type colour. The problem is, when i lay some paint on, the colours don't stick. I even tried white on it. Should I coat it in black first or should I let the white dry out and layer it from there on?

I'm no expert but if it's nylon or had any type of water-proofing done then you need to use 99% isopropyl alcohol and treat the area first to remove it then it should stay but paint will eventually come off because it does not have any bonding catalyst agents in it like screen printers use. Hope that was helpful
