With a roller you will paint at least 4 times longer to get about the same quality as when you spray. Such a quick painting with a roller, as shown in the video, will only look good on RU-vid, but in reality the quality will be terrible)
@collinrisley4026
@collinrisley4026 8 месяцев назад
Exactly correct sir. Im sure YOU know, but just so others can read: With a roller you WILL need multiple coats of paint. Having to wait hours between coats at the risk peeling off the last layer is a nightmare. What could take 1 quick spray will turn into a multiple day long paint project. (The humidity from each layer delaying the dry time of the next)

Cannot stand when they leave the cases on the outlets and light switches. Small details is what makes the job look good. As soon as the electrician comes in and needs to change everything you're going to see all that outlet and light switch spots messed all up paint peeling and everything way to go guys. some people prefer rolling over spraying anyway. Rolling is faster that spraying, It takes way too long to cover up and get spray machine ready. By that time the roller guy is in the next room. But, even if you roll you can definitely make a mess with your roller spray. It's not about how fast you paint, it's about how good it is. Is it smooth to the touch,or rough like the Andis mountains. Prime coat MUST be sanded, if you don't sand ,and many painter's don't ,it WILL BE ROUGH. EVERY coat before finishing must be sanded. I don't see anyone showing this sanding part. SO SAD..... I AM MASTER PLASTERER 😎 63

@petekobraoutdoors7324
@petekobraoutdoors7324 9 месяцев назад
@nickhealy1745 priming wood brings up the grain so it can be sanded. Same thing with drywall. Priming brings up all the paper fibers and dust in the same way as wood ,and then when the priming is hard, it's sanded smooth for final coating. Have a great day.

As a professional painter and decorator, 18in rollers are ass 🤣 hate using em the look good in videos like this, but when the paint drys you skippers all over the wall, the spraying, well on drywall and interior walls I really recommend that you back roll the wall as you spray, yeah it takes a lil more time but will give you less headaches in the future
@marissaduhn
@marissaduhn 2 месяца назад
What does bankroll mean?
@M8Fitness
@M8Fitness 2 месяца назад
@@marissaduhn back rolling is when after you spray a section you have a roller handle with a paint skin (roller skin) and while the wall is still wet, you roll it out with the roller
@marissaduhn
@marissaduhn 2 месяца назад
@M8Fitness what is the advantage to that vs spraying alone?
@M8Fitness
@M8Fitness 2 месяца назад
@@marissaduhn on a smooth surface like finished drywall or concrete yes. What you are doing is adding some stipple (a really light texture from the roller skin) which will make touch ups and repairs easier down the line. When I say easier I mean less noticable. So like if you mounted a TV to the wall and then decided to change walls or just didn't want it mounted when you patch those holes, if you back rolled, the touch up will be less noticable.

@@danielsegoviano welk there is a graco quickshot for that, ofrpeople should just be carefull not to damage the wall. Id have to add that where i live there isn’t all to much drywall most room dividing walls in our houses are brick or concrete with a stucco layer so there generally isn’t to much patching. People here either choose to spray the wall which is a job for the stukadoor(plasterer) and they wont be backrolled. Or if they want a stipple they choose to get their walls painter with a roller and the job is done by a painter. (Btw i live in the netherlands and if your interested in how we finish our walls you could searchf or stukwerk knauf on youtube and there will be plenty vids)

From the comments I've seen on here so far, not even one of them addressed the issue of the face plates for the electrical and light switches. You should either take them off, or very carefully paint around them. Never spray paint, and never roll paint, on them. It's messy, and totally unprofessional!
