Hello from Oklahoma Great information. I'm planting a new field this year about 2.5 acres that was over grown. It was about waist high and thick with weeds. So far I have burned it then when it started growing back I sprayed it with round up just to try and clear it. I plan on planting Millet this year just to get something in the ground. Thanks for sharing.

Stay tuned that will likely be the next video or soon after! Since we dont plant on rows, we broad spray the fields with a gun. Not the traditional way to do it, but it works! Check out this video in the mean time. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZTVxBCBKDug.html
I know a silly question, but that pre-emergent doesn't affect the corn or sunflowers? I guess being clearfield they are designed around those chemicals. I'm heading out in the morning for likely my last turkey hunt of the season and then going to head to the dove field and mow it. I really knocked out the crab grass last year with all of my spraying. Right now all I have are sour weed, dandelion and some other winter type weeds. They have all been sprayed and are dead so I need to mow in preparation for plowing. Man time sneaks up on you quickly.
Time flies, dont blink! Good luck on the turkey hunt. Regarding pre-emergents, I dont know the science behind it, but the products are formulated to not have an effect on certain crops within the label rate. Weird because corn is technically a grass but not affected by Prowl, Sunflowers are a broadleaf but not affected by Spartan and s-Metalachor. Science!!
Put in 5 acres of sunflowers today with the 2 row planter. My buddy has the electric sprayer and I have the pto 50 gallon sprayer. You are right. The pto sprayer is much faster. We put glyphosate, prowl, brawl and Spartan charge down right after planting today. Looks like we have shower chance Friday/Saturday. 🤞
Good stuff!! Baby steps on my end. This all started with a bush hog, disc and a bag spreader... came a long way but plenty left to go. keep me updated on your success
Yeah we started 17 years ago. Planted by hand and cut with a mower. Haha. Every year we would try to add something. I would say 6 years ago we really started adding some good stuff. We’ve lost some dogs and friends over the years but sure do have some great memories with both!
Will these treatments kill the germination of troublesome weeds? My corn is always overtaken by crows feet every year. Can hardly see the peas for all the grass. Im a rookie at attempting to control grass. Thank you
Aight buddy question, we didn’t plant our sunflowers till late Saturday evening and I wasn’t able to spray the pre emergent till Monday. Stopped at the field yesterday and I saw my seed had sprouted. Do u think I killed my sunflowers by spraying 2 days after planting?
Wait till you find out what farmers spray directly on your food. Organic or not it’s been sprayed in that soil for generations. These doves do not eat enough to bio accumulate any measurable amount of toxicity. Thanks for watching
