Sprayway’s flagship product has had a remake for 2019. In short, it’s a good, honest waterproof that is well made, built to last, and designed to keep you dry in the inclement British weather. An old favourite meets new technology.
Berghaus mera peak and equivalent spray ways back in the late 90s were 300 so, 20 odd years later a zero percent increase for a top tier jacket is not bad. I still have my blue mera peak 😆
These are about as waterproof as waterproof jackets get. We wrote the following review back in November 2019, which goes into more detail, but as a sweeping summary - the Torridon is definitely designed for the world's worst conditions!! www.ukclimbing.com/gear/clothing/waterproofs/sprayway_torridon-12321
all i can say is i bought the torridon in 1990 and paid £230 for it then, but never regretted a penny of it. spent numerous days out in rain which was horizontal at times and the coat kept me bone dry, had it for 6 years until i had it pinched off the back seat of my car . i didn't realise they had brought a new version of this out. I am certainly confident this will be as good or better. purchasing one as soon as and i will leave a further comment once tested.
For waterproof jacket ,need to explain how much is waterproof, if the zipps are protected and not leaking (pockets). If seams are properly tapped - not leaking. How breathable it is , for what kind of weather. Packing and weight information. But not just how shiny is jacket............
