woah i never noticed this. i always played this on shuffle in a playlist without bothering to check what's playing lol. just realized when i tried looking up this specific demo
Joe didn’t like Ryan’s performance in this demo, so he fired him from the band and locked him in a pit of letters, forced to read letters from fans all day.
for some reason the whole song made me laugh SO HARD 'there was a lot of water.' 'i like the way it feels upon my brain'. 'the garage was flooded.' 'blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.' 'what do you think??' 'when you die.' 'blah blah blah. blah blah bla-' like it sounds like a dude telling his whole life story then just singing 'blah blah blah' for a full minute.
this demo version sounds so much better imo: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ewzMqZ3pGhA.html dare i say, better than the final song tbh
The intro gave me an eargasm. I love hearing the way their songs connected in their history. It's the same with the mind electric and labyrinth from Hawaii part II
All 3 different Mr. Moon responses: Incomplete demo: “See all these stars? When you die, you become a star.” Demo: “well it seems to be tricky to tell, whether ever a heaven or hell, play pretend, my friend and loose yourself in the rain.” Final: “well I think you return to obscure, or wherever you were, before you were, but I won’t let you loose yourself in the rain.”
Lyrics from Genius [Intro] Mmhmm, mmhmm... Mmhmm, mmhmm... [RYAN SCOTT, spoken] Sometimes, I like to walk Outside In the rain (CANTOR: Blah, blah-blah, blah, blah-blah, blah...) I like the way it feels Upon my brain The rain One day, my family and I Went away For a little while When we came back The garage was flooded The rain had come inside And there was a lot of water Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah-blah, blah... Blah-blah, blah [CANTOR] Mr. Moon? [SCOTT] Yeah? [CANTOR] Tell us about the sky [SCOTT] The sky, deep and dark and blue, and very high [ALL, sung] Many people think that's where you go when you die [CANTOR, spoken] What do you think? [SCOTT] See all these stars? When you die You become a star [CANTOR, sung] You're a star You're a star You're a star You're a star You're a star Yes, you are You're a star Yes, you are Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah Blah, blah, blah, blah-blah, blah Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah-blah You're a star Yes, you are Blah, blah, blah, blah-blah, blah Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah Blah, blah, blah, blah-blah, blah, blah Blah, blah, blah-blah, blah...
This song feels like a slow embracing march towards death, just slowly becoming more incomprehensible. Plus mr. moon says that when you die you become a star, then joe says that you're a star, doesn't feel like an accident to me. Mr. moon can also be interpreted as some type of god, or grim reaper figure. Anyway thats just me overanalyzing some goofy demo

I'm sorry, but where do people find all these super early demos? Did Tally Hall just upload them someplace at some point and then delete them or something? Where did all these weird demos come from?
I love admittedly incomplete demos so much, it’s just the way you can hear the hesitation in Ryan and Joes voices when they’re singing this it’s just so charming to me.
Oh I get, The only way to become a star is by being died and because the lyrics are saying " your a star" that means we the listener are dead and became a star
i love the latest version from MMMM and this was... mid not bad some parts were okay it just sounded like talking over music at parts and it sounded depressing with the delivery
