We love spring because it's a beautiful time of transition in our Arizona backyard. Some plants are waking up from the winter, while others have been busy growing through the cooler weather. We have worked so hard installing plants and gardens in our yard over the past (nearly) 5 years, and we truly enjoy sitting back and watching nature do her thing now.
What is your favorite plant to observe in the spring? Let us know in the comments!

I have this road runner friend, he comes in my yard everyday, when I’m watering, he comes to my yard sometimes he will stand next to me, when I water. It’s really kool, thought you guys would like that. I’m in chandler by the way. Wonderful video by the way. You two are very fun to watch, I also love trees and plants. Wow.... I love you guys, you and wife seem like nice people and have so much positive vibes. Your yard looks amazing, so exciting. Thank you so much for sharing your greenie garden. Looks like plant Disneyland. I'm speechless & Amazed, you can grow neem tree in az? I have purchase 3 neem tree every year in the past 3 years but no success. What is your secret fertilizer recipe?
@GreeniesGarden
@GreeniesGarden 4 года назад
Thanks so much for the love!! Our neem tree was only about 6 inches tall when we got it, and we planted it in an area where it got very little direct sunlight as a baby; it has since grown into the sun. Frost is its biggest enemy, so make sure to protect it in the winter. Our neem tree loves fish emulsion and pond water. Hope this helps!

Hello from Tucson! Thank you very much for taking the time to film and edit this! I love the positivity and love throughout the backyard and videos! I'm in year one and am enjoying my mini transformation, but your garden WOWS and inspires! Convincing me it's worth it to keep going, even if Arizona sun is trying to kill everything :)

Thanks so much for the love! Summer can be a frustrating time of year to garden, but it's rewarding and worthwhile when the weather finally breaks in the fall. Take lots of photos of your yard now because it will blow you away in a couple of years! :D

I love your garden, and I’m starting my raised bed next month, hope I’m not too late. In general, what kind of soil do I need for my raised beds in Tucson? Give Greenie a big hug for me.
@GreeniesGarden
@GreeniesGarden 4 года назад
Thanks so much for the love! Gardens like soil that drains well, but living in the desert, moisture retention is also key. Make sure to add lots of organic nutrients too. Hope you enjoy your garden!

Currently from my apartment, I am growing mangos and sweet peppers. I started them in solo cups in the window. I moved them out to the balcony which faces the west. Unfortunately it seems like my pepper plants leaves are sagging in the hot sun and am worried about its survival. I also give it plenty of water. Any idea how to help it?
@GreeniesGarden
@GreeniesGarden 4 года назад
We love that you're taking advantage of any space that you have to grow your own food! Western sun, especially in AZ, can be really tough on plants. Try giving it a little shade cloth (we have seen success with a bedsheet even!), and only water when the soil is dry. A little layer of mulch can go a long way in retaining moisture and cooling the soil too. Hope this helps! Please reach out if you have any other questions!

Do you guys reseed your grass paths every fall? I Love this idea!
@GreeniesGarden
@GreeniesGarden 4 года назад
Yep! We will reseed with rye and some clover cover crop in the fall. We let it die back naturally in the summer, but you could replace it with Bermuda grass if you wanted to. That kind of grass can be invasive so plan ahead if you want green pathways all year long.
