We like to think of our dog Greenie as the founder of Greenie's Garden! When we first moved into our home, the backyard was just a dirt lot covered in weeds. It was unbearably hot in the summer and we rarely went outside. Since then, we have turned our yard into our own backyard food forest paradise! We're documenting our journey all along the way. Join our Green Army by planting something today! Have an awesome day!

Wow 7 years ago! So how are they doing? I just went and snapped off a bunch of panicles from my Valencia pride that flowered for the first time.5 of them and left 3. I did it because they were drooping because I think they were not getting enough water. Hopeing it will reflower like yours did? How are your mangoes? Are they producing now? Thanks for your videos.
When a mango tree is young, you cut off 2/3 of the flowering pinnacle leaving about an inch on the tree. This causes the tree to redirect its energy into leaf production. Then in about a month you trim off the remaining left over pinnacle. If you cut off the entire pinnacle and flowers, the tree will produce more of them using up energy. Hope this helps.
I don’t understand why anyone would plant sterile invasive species, When there’s so many beautiful trees like Platunus wrightii, Fraxinus velutina, Quercus gambelii, quercus arizonica, screwbean Mesquite, Cypress Arizonica, and many more native trees that are much more beneficial to your soils, ecosystem, and wildlife.
15 gallons PER WEEK? PER DAY? You never specified. I'm guessing 15 gallons per week. Sooooooooooooo.....did you do about 2 gallons PER DAY when you first planted this tipu? Thank you!
