In this episode, I canoe Chilliwack Lake. Chilliwack Lake is in Chilliwack BC, obviously, and I think it's the best day paddle Chilliwack. It's 19.6 kilometers long, and there's a sandy beach on each end. The chilliwack River flows in on the south end, and flows out on the north end. I think spring is the best time to do this paddle because the mountains look more spectacular with snow on them. While at the far end, I ate a turkey sandwich that I bought at the Perfekt Deli in Yarrow. I highly recommend the Perfekt Deli. Anyways, it was a good day, and it was great to stretch my arms out. I have big plans this year canoeing wise, so I'm considering this training. I have a reservation on the Bowron Lake canoe circuit in July, and I'm struggling with the thought of wanting to beat my previous record time there of 3 days. I touch on that a little bit in this video, but mostly it's just a nice little video to show off Chilliwack Lake a little bit.

Not sure. I'll probably get back to Widgeon and hike to the falls at some point before I leave for my summer trip. I've also always wanted to go to the pitt river hot springs, so one day I'll canoe all of pitt lake and get myself there.

Gotta get some gumboots homie! Cold feet suck.

I should. I have a pair of insulated winter rubber boots that I use if it's really cold, but they are way too warm for days like these. Regular boots would of been nice

What length canoe you running? About how wide is it at the widest point? 3 days on bowron crazy, you know how you gonna make bowron even greater, take your time stay on it as long as you can, bask in the beauty enjoy all the beaches and scenery, chill on the beach then just paddle around for awhile then swim etc. There was one beach about midway that is kinda midpoint of a medium sized lake with an amazingly beautiful park like beach and forest grassy area behind it, before it goes to the river before the large falls, I wanted to spend the entire day there, we didn't even stop the people I was with wanted to just push through it all. They were like well I need to work on wednesday which means I really need to be home by tuesday which means I need to be home by mondaywhich means we should be off the loop by sunday but we need to fit in a day at barkerville so we need to be off saturday but we should do two days at barkerville, so by around noon on friday they decided they were board of barkerville and we were on our way back to the fraser valley. We started late in the day stayed 3 nights and were off early the friday morning so pretty close to your time maybe couple hours longer. I think if I ever get to do it again I'm going alone. Congrats on the 1000+ subscribers.

My canoe is a 15 foot Clipper Solitude. I think it actually says 15 and a half feet on the tag. It has served me well lol. I did Bowron in 3 days as a challenge when I turned 30, and it definitely wasn't easy. I did 53 kilometers on day 1. I went from the start all the way to the end of Isaac lake. The chute campsite. Then day 2 I pushed to Skoi lake, which is the one in between the 2 really short portage. I was so done on the 2nd day, I actually lost a flip flop in the mud dragging my canoe towards a portage. The moment that I was digging for that flip flop was the lowest feeling😂. Then day 3 was pretty easy, pretty short day relatively speaking. It was an awesome experience, but also I don't really want to do it again. I hate that I don't have footage of it though, and re doing it the same way to get footage feels weird. But trying to do it in 2 days would be pretty epic, but also terrible. What I'm really thinking about doing is 4 days, that's what I set up my reservation for, but I think I actually have up to 14 days to do it. Then I have enough time to hike to that waterfall you're talking about, and also give me more time to enjoy it. I've done it so many times, and in a bunch of different lengths. I've done it in 8 days as a group several times, but that's too slow of a pace for me. I like a good 25 to 30 km a day, and that's really a 4 or 5 day pace. When I did it in 3 days the weather was also perfect. Isaac Lake was smooth and windfree the whole time, that's why I just kept going.

@@SARGEinc Ya 4 days will be good, you gonna check out barkerville when your there too, could make a good extra video? If I did it again I think I would take close to the whole allowable time, not to be lazy but just to make the most of it to really take it in and see it all, like you could paddle up one side back down the other and then back up the middle lol camp at every camp ground and spot all the wildlife. I'm tossing around the idea of seeing if I could make some sort of setup to hold a canoe on my roof off centered to the drivers side above solar panels as I mounted a roof box on the other side to hold all my camping gear and extras. It'll have to be on the narrower side but I might be able to or a kayak I guess.

@@frankevans287 I might go to Barkerville depending on timing and how I feel at the time. I'll probably add more to my trip, so it depends on what I do. I like Barkerville, I've been there a few times before. One time there was 4 of us that had just grabbed ice cream cones, then we went into the courthouse to check it out. Then Sir Matthew Begbie, "The Hanging Judge", tore a strip out of us. He yelled at us for bringing food into his courthouse and kicked us out. It was hilarious. Guy was in full character and kicked 4 grown ass men out of the courthouse😂. I still think about it. As for the canoe on the roof. I had high hopes that I could fit a solar panel and a canoe on the roof, but once I saw how much space it actually took up I gave up. Maybe there's a way to put it off center, but My fan is centered, and that needs to be able to open and close with the canoe on the roof. There are smaller and different shaped panels that might be able to be fitted in a way that the canoe doesn't block them. It would be nice if the boat was narrower like a kayak, but it isn't. It's actually kind of a pain to have the canoe with me at all times, bit that's what I like to do. A couple of buddies have inflatable kayaks that I'm kind of jealous of, it seems so nice that they can just throw it inside their cars when they are done. Not that I really have any more space inside.

@@SARGEinc I got yelled at and called a reprobate when I was like 8 for getting to close to the sluice box thing lol. I really like canoes too but it's the transporting and storage that is a major pita, I'm not doing a roof fan though so I do have that on my side, I plan on building a cedar strip canoe soon so maybe if a decide the dimensions just right I can do it, I can't compromise too much though it's still gotta be a functional stable canoe, if not I may go kayak

No GMC Safari? The Overland? I Love The Video From! That Being Said Eating 6 Awesome Doughnuts And That Beautiful Lake With Drones That Could Be Used For This Instead Of War. Your In A Good Place! They Don't Call It Gods County For No Reason and Watch The News They Live In Money Country?

I'll definitely be making more van videos moving forward. I have a little bit more work to do to it, and then at that point it's going to be full on camping season. It's weird that you mention using drones not for war. I've seen so many videos from the Russian war in Ukraine using drones. It's always in the back of my head when I fly my drone now. It's pretty crazy knowing that you're flying a kilometer away from you, watching something that has no idea you're there. It really makes you think about the power of these things, and hope no one wants to use one in a bad way around me.

I would be detained immediately if I entered Castreau controlled waters.
