I think your garden is lovely Lin. They do take up a lot of time especially at this time of the year. I've spent three hours each day since Sunday pulling up the weeds and trying to tidy but I've loads more to do and I don't have a huge garden. My brother calls it twee!
Wow your garden is coming alive Lin. You have buds coming as well as me but I only have one so far on an old DA variety called English garden. Hopefully we won’t have so much rain this Summer so perhaps they won’t have blackspot so much.
Lovely girlfriend :) your roses are advanced of mine you have more buds and more foliage by looks of it. I still have my mulch here that I haven’t put down yet. With this mild weather I’m very tempted to put my mulch and feed down together in a week or twos time in one go. My Penelope lively is also slow to an extent im a little worried, the foliage I think has developed but is just microscopic. Perhaps it will develop better in the coming weeks. I haven’t given it anything I don’t know why its foliage is not like my other roses. Thanks for showing us around your garden, it is flying. :)
Wow, buds already! I'm impressed - and jealous! The idea of mixing the pellets with the compost is very clever - trying to apply the feed evenly and without putting too much on is always difficult. I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't always tell if I'm looking at greenfly or something else, although I'm getting so much greenfly in my greenhouse at the moment that it usually is greenfly. Did you mention the name of the rose with the attractive foliage at 10.50 or did I just miss it? Your roses are all looking very healthy and just raring to go, and it's only March! Just out of interest, what do you think are your favourite 3 roses based on their performance last year? Or is 3 too limiting?!
Hi Nic. The rose with the vibrant young leaves is Dannahue. I didn’t do a “ best performing rose “ video last year. I didn’t feel my roses were well looked after enough to reach their full potential. The roses that performed best was Compassion ( climbing rose), Summer romance and Lady Emma Hamilton ( probably because growing in the ground). Three is too short a list. I’d include Julia Childs and Eustacia Vye too. Looking forward to seeing your blooms soon.
Hi Marilyn. I usually take my cuttings around autumn. But I’m not fussy and stick healthy/ strong prunings in late summer as I can’t bear to throw it out. I put cuttings in John Innes no.3 and nothing else . I leave it uncovered and wait 3 months. Some survive and some don’t. It’s all down to luck.
@@Lin_Greenfinger I saw that & i thought you’ve got well rotted horse manure out & have taken notice of what i wrote to you once before .. even almost dead ones came back to life with red shoots with this pellets of feed with horse manure ( dead one the prince by DA is alive again..i’m so happy about that)
