Spring is nearly here is a 1962 song played by The Shadows.
Written by Bruce Welch (Rhythm player) and Brian Bennett (Drummer)
As spring started 5 days ago on 20th March I thought this would be appropriate although the temperatures just lately don’t feel very spring like !
Played on my Fender 56 NOS Custom Stratocaster fitted with Kinman Impersonator 54 v3 pickups on Neck position through an Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with EFTP patch 0-02 .
The Backing track is from my old band Bungleflint from our Album DÉJÀ VU made in 2005.
Featuring the late Richard Cooke on Drums, Andy Davis on Bass, Myself on rhythm and a session musician on keyboards.
The 1,2 3,4 countdown voice at the start is Richard Cooke - I miss him so much so wanted to hear his voice on this video.
I made Tabs out of my arrangement which are FREE to download along with the FREE Backing Track from my website here :-

Sound recorded in Cubase SX6 and edited with the three 4K Video takes made with 3 Panasonic VX870 4K camcorders in Song Vegas Pro 14

A friend of mine is downsizing his guitar collection and in case you are interested he has an Alan Brason Strat exactly the same as mine (Kinman FV-HMS pickups) in mint condition.. Smooth as silk again, Phil. Not a tune I know all that well despite so many of your followers saying it's their favourite . . . I guess I've mostly gone for their faster or more dynamic solos. Great performance as ever. Enjoy Spring when it arrives - I think it's due at about 11.12am on April 3rd and is due to last until about 12.03 when snow, hail, fog, thunderstorms and a tornado are forecast as part of our current unpredictable climate. (Whole seasons in a single day). Cheers.

Thanks for your nice comment on this one Chris.. Yes I used to enjoy playing in the band but not packing up all the gear at 1am in the mornings followed by a long drive home . LOL. We were together 2003 - 2008 but even in those days when the Shadows were active to start with it was difficult to get regular bookings as it was a very narrow market to appeal to. I think it would be even more difficult today. Living room recording is a lot less hassle ! All the best Phil

@@random275 yeah I can imagine the packing of the gear and the drive would have been a bit of a pain, and as you say it would have been a very narrow market, I think that's why the likes of the Scarborough weekend would be very appealing to those who are like minded
