I don't think I've ever seen boats congregated like that inside the break wall at Harley Ensign. Interesting. So can you tell us more about your rig? What size hook and what weight are you using? Braided line? Rod type?

I prefer fishing the Mississippi right by my house. 12 to 15in perch are the norm and I only have to travel about 2 miles to catch bucket's full of em. Looked like a good day for ya though.

you should try a three way swivel and put your hook on a leader line

I was drifting or use the trolling motor to hold me in place. I was using a 7ft St Croix panfish series rod and a shimano Stradic Ci4 1000 reel.

@@JCDropshot Thank you. My kids want to actually catch some perch this year because we don't have very much luck out there with our smaller boat (17' deep v Bass Tracker w/40 hp motor) I don't feel to safe going out too far in that boat.

I would strongly suggest if you do not live here do not come here please!!!! We are the hot zone here in Michigan and one of the top 5 places in the country. Stay safe stay away!
