Episode 43 - Spring on the River Soar
After a fairly eventful transition onto the Soar we finally make the most of the beautiful river, soaking up our surroundings and welcoming in Spring. We enjoy a generally event-free Easter bank holiday, plane spotting under the East Midlands Airport flight path, cruising into the heart of Loughborough, and making our first mini rescue mission to a stranded boater 🌼🏗️

I live off grid in Australia and leave a fan on for my pets when I go out. Look at vornado fans. I have the pedestal, very small and incredibly low power. They are expensive, but not only have exceptionally low power but also a good warranty. Love your show.

@@BoatTime At the moment it's constant rain and floods. It's like living in England lol I enjoy your vlog. Refreshing to see you "not" talk about alcohol and pubs like so many of them do. I enjoy the tour of the actual towns and shops. Just looking at a boat traveling on water can be boring which you two don't do. Well done.

Hi Amy, Wes, What a lovely Vlog. Loved seeing Rufus on his long lead. He's a lovely Doggy. How kool was Dupes with his harness on, sooooooo cute!!!!!! Then his little leggies got tired, and Mummy had to carry him, Ahhhh! Love your cruise on the River Soar. I was thinking if it was tidal at your point, but then with locks, it can't be tidal (in your location). Loughborough looked a lovely town, with some great moorings. Hope your security cameras are still performing well. When I saw Tesco's shop closed, I knew straight away being Easter Sunday they would be closed, just like on Christmas day, the two most holiest days in the Christian Calendar. I got caught like that many years ago too.The image from the camera on your phone was really good. Well done for helping out a boat in distress. The ducklings were so cute. Loved the Vlog, as always, so well produced and edited. I say it again, you are both amazing on camera. Have a great week. Take care.

Lol, I’ve been sitting here thinking about Amy’s question “would you swim in it?”. I started thinking about the lock, where the river and the canal meet. Where they “exchange” fluids/water. 🤣 I’m wondering if the river would make the canal a bit cleaner or if the canal would pollute the river. I’m really overthinking this ha ha, but as for swimming, I’d really really want to swim but after reading about leptospirosis (or whatever it’s called) I would avoid all of the canal-adjacent rivers and then only swim in rivers with a decent flow. Ok ok, hopefully my brain will relax for a little bit now - [She said, taking a sip of her large espresso]

I watch almost 20 different canal boat video channels a week. The reasons I like them are because they spend 90%++ of the video showing the scenery, the canal side and nature. I was a little underwhelmed watching so much oy the video on your face(s) rather than the scenery. Just a suggestion!! ( There are so many canal boaters doing vlogs, it's easy to find one that fits your style. )
