@Baz502 that's maybe a bit harsh, but you have a point. In the time the ABs were ruling the roost they obliterated everything in front of them. But I think that especially over the last 3 or 4 years the playing fields have evened out a bit and any team in the top 5 can beat no 1 or 2 on a given day.

@@johanweakley2658 Boks fans would be happy to lose when the player in form are selected and not base on cups. Andy is a true strategist of the game. He reviewed the England vs Boks game of the semi final, use some of that games plans and it work perfect against us. What is more impression was the perfection that Ireland execute the game plans. I not seen any other team perfect another team game plan like that. What that tell me is that the Irish player are truely committed. And a red flag to raise, the Boks has been struggling for 5 years with carrying the ball without losing it. It does matter who the team is. Why am I picking this up but not our analytic team providing the coaching staff with the data.

@JohnMichaels-fs7bi I have to agree with you. Despite our success, I am constantly worried that we will not be able to hold onto the ball in hard contact situations. The Irish were in our faces on Saturday, and we responded the same way as we did in the semis against England. For a while there, we looked like a rabbit in a car's headlights. The Irish bullied us off the ball, especially in the first half. I hate it when we are in those situations and we seem unable to respond And yes, Andy Farrell is a coach with incredible rugby intellect and application. I am waiting for the rugby championship with baited breath. We are World Champions and I want to see us play like that.

Same here from an Irishman. We didn't feel we were in crisis when we lost to you guys last week because it was still a great game. Same thing on Saturday.

Really, support this lot, are U insane. We just got completely out played physically, outsmarted mentally and all by a 2nd stringer Irish depleted team. Sasha threw it away, rolly Polly nche and mambi pambi got wiped out

Absolutely agree, these people forget that the 95 world cup was won by a drop goal by Joel Stransky. I cannot believe people can turn so quickly. The Springboks have given us so much pleasure watching the game. I don't care if they lost, they are still my idols and I love the sport. Losing some games keeps their feet on the ground. Go Bokke. It's like changing the engine while driving. Having said that, seen teams do far worse than that.

Also Willie was off within 2m. No flack to Sacha but Willie is a different type of player, we saw how well they attacked in first test. It isnt necessary the case of old attack vs new style, why not use both? The problem was we had blood subs and injuries left and right that first half. Also Ireland only scored 1 try I believe so, but Ireland is just class no excuses, although injuries did put some pressure on the boks.

What panic to a ordinary Irish team who is only now evolving to play a style that New Zealand played for decades...Rassie is coaching the Bokke to another level because they are already beginning to change the rules because of fear that we will dominate the rugby world...we have to keep on running ahead of the pack ....that's what Rassie was born for 😊

Why would he have to rethink the approach and Tony Brown play? This is literally the 3rd game they have played under the Tony Brown attacking system. It’s hardly been anytime to master anything. If you recall when Rassie first took over the Boks and implemented the rush defense system there was quite a few bad performances and losses in that period too. Personally I don’t think you can read too much into the result of the weekend. Ireland are a good team and they clearly were hurting after the previous week. We didn’t start well and unfortunately had some injuries during the first period that prevented us from getting any rhythm. I think Willie was a big one because he so often acts as that playmaker in the middle of the field who links off a Pollard pass to put our outside backs in holes. But to be honest, for the most part Saturday was not that kinda of a game. So much of our game resolves around physically dominance that we would have lost even if we played the old plan. Because, apart from the scrums, Ireland outsmarted us at line outs, out thought us in the gain line collision, out kicked us and fronted physically on defense. We do need more layers to our game when things aren’t working and it was pleasing to see the team fight back despite not playing well.

Congrats on a great win. We were not up to the physical challenge of the Irish on the day. We got bullied off the ball by a relentless Irish side.

They are not " arguably " one of the best they are definitely one of the best ..no shame in loosing to them with ONE point ☝️ as you say . Lots of respect for Ireland, amazing composure.

From a SAFFA , in reality looking at results over the last 4 years and more ...Ireland is the best ( apart from WC tournament) that much I know . Yes the Boks can beat them on any day in any place But so can the Irish ...consistency wise the Irish rule the roost we have to emulate that . Amazing game yesterday . With the lineout at 78.30 deep in your territory ..I thought to myself "the AB can win it from here surely the Irish can't, then I thought , no they can , let watch , then flawless to victory.. so in my eyes the Irish and AB now deserve same respect . If we do the same selection for champion cup and we lose, I will still be happy. Why? Because Rassie is build dept just to say we have dept and don't use it. Our style of play does not allow us to play the same players consistently.

I love Rassie, but we need to say that he fall into his own arrogant trap. Boks play a very physical game which make recovery difficult. Our players are also over 30 and that increases the recovery time. We have the world best depth just to say and don't use it. FAF has been struggling since before the RWC. Pollard cannot attack the gain line and seem afraid of injuries. Pollard is great but the attacking rugby is not his strength, When Pollard distribute the ball it seem like we don't have enough space to gain the advantage line. When Mannie attack it seem like we have to much space and can score a try. Mannie kicking is really poor. Kwagga is the best impact player in the world, but not a starting 8. Why, Look at Austrialla and NZ last year during the rugby championship and last week against Ireland, we consist with him. We should have selected, Evan Roos. Boks fans wants domination! We have enough talent to select two 23 squad and play a different team every week. Why is Andre Esterhuizen not selected. How long must he wait?

@@riaansnyman8747 We need a specialist at 8 and Kwagga is good player but not an 8th man. Losing Willie was a big turning point also his positioning on kicks was missed and decision making. Sacha did good,but lack experience at the back. That yellow should have been red.

@@oswaldhartzenberg6008 Agree. But yellow was a yellow. The ref strategy did not want to go the player is attacking the limp because he know that a red. He when with the lessor offence, croc roll which is a yellow.

SA actually put out their most capped side in history yesterday.. Ireland were the ones experimenting but mainly due to injuries, No Hanson, Keenan,Aki , Gibson-park... But they had depth for once, which is something Ireland have always struggled with.

Yes but we are experimenting with a different game plan. Don’t get me wrong Ireland played incredible and that could be the reason the springboks looked off their game but the cohesion really didn’t look there for the boks and I put that down to all the changes in game plan.

They were good 1st half, agreed. But I still think we lost it with 2 mins to go. But how exciting was that!😊

Ireland deserves to be no 1, our Boks don't. I even think the ABs and France, maybe even England deserve to be ahead of the Boks. Our Boks only win by luck, never skill
