Jordan Hendrikse might be the future. The very first time he stepped in the spotlight for the lions was a super rugby game, 80th minute he replaces Elton to take a kick from the corner to win the game and slots it through as calm as can be. No moment seems too big for him. His tackling is really impressive, his kicking from hand is amazing and his kicking for poles can be amazing, especially when the Lion stopped playing musical chairs with their place kicker. He is surprisingly strong in contact on a quick crash and has good vision on attack. Very sad to see him leave to the sharks as a Lions fan.

True Story 👍 He was down to start, but went to Rassie and told him he wanted VK to start and not come off the bench as it was VK's 50th game. Rassie had no issue with Frans's request.

Despite what Riaan Louw says, Jordan Hendrikse is a Sharks man. (As of January 2025). Interesting little anecdote: Apparently Frans Malherbe was slated to start the game, but when he heard it will be Vincent Koch's 50th Cap he declined the starting position in deference to Vinnie's milestone achievement.

Exited to see how South Africa build from the World cup. Never had that opportunity after the kast one so hopefully they can use that momentum to win more games. Inreally want them to win the Ireland series and win the rugby championship

Way I see it, the most important player in our entire squad was Frans Malherbe. Second most important player was Vincent Koch. Malherbe is 32 and Koch is 35 and by the next world cup, they'll be older than Os was in 2007. I.e. they might be able to stay fit, but you have to assume that an injury now can end their careers. So they are definitely not automatic picks for 2027. So we have Wilco Louw from the Bulls and he is monstrous, but we need another tighthead as good as he is, in order to be able to field a bomb squad team. This I beluevyis Rassie's biggest challenge

Feel like we were watching different 6 nations. Cam winnett was a large talking point I feel like. He took so well to the test scene despite so few professional games and with great confidence and excellent counter attacking which will only improve with experience

As a proud Welsh man this game gives me a lot of nerves. Between missing a lot of quality players, because of Englands dumb rules about releasing players and missing a lot of players through injury this team has been decimated. Unlike the boks our strength in depth is minimal and only in certain positions. I expect us to lose by at least 4 scores. Mainly from the boks pack winning many penalties via the scrum and probably from the maul also. I would love to be proven wrong, but I doubt we will cause any major threat to the boks.

But that was with the opposite what we have now - it was an experienced Welsh side against an inexperienced Bok side AND a dismal coaching/selection setup. I must advise caution to my fellow countrymen though, Wales is not a side that I would ever write off. They are the one team in the world that can play our brand of rugby against us. Factor in the long flight, factor in the fact that Gatland knows our players better than Rassie knows his and factor in that we're going from summer to winter, Wales might feel that they have a chance to pull off the upset.

I'm Welsh.... we'll be very lucky to keep it even slighty close. If the Boks play even half as well as they did in RWC 2023, then it'll be a cricket score. Just being realistic. They're world champs and we're the worst we've been in a generation.

I think that is Rassie Goal for these next few years. Build 3 teams that could win a world cup. This may be the first time in History that the Springboks could send a "Dream Team" to the world cup in 2027. We never had this depth before.

@@jadenphilander8799I think you are right. After Chasing The Sun 2, I watched the first one and I was reminded of some of Rassie's moves. In 2019, he sent a team to Australia and a second one to NZ, in order to lessen the impact of traveling. We won the game in Aus and drew against NZ. I think this has been the Rassie plan all along, but COVID derailed it a little. The one problem with having a full rotation is that that you need your starting fifteen plus your bomb squad. The problem with having a bomb squad 6-2 or 7-1 split is that you need to have contingency plans available in the event of injuries and/or cards. And that means that you need a certain balance in the side - you need two powerful front rows for each side you have, you need a very tall nr7 to double as a lock, you need a nr6 that can double in the backline, you need a small winger that can do duty as scrumhalf, you need a utility back that can cover wing, centre, fly-half and fullback and you need a second kicking option. These are not easy to come by.

Now both Hendrikse brothers will be Boks, would like to see them partner up. Roos will have to play out of his skin and don't give away penalties otherwise he'll down the pecking order.

Roos has been a lot better recently and to be fair, is only there because of a disciplinary headfart by the incumbent lol. As a long time Stormers fan, I don't think Roos will stay there very long, not because of his discipline, but simply because there are SO many good loosies in the mix and not everyone will make it. Think Hanekom from Bulls, Horn from Lions, Phepsi Buthelezi from Sharks, Juarno Augustus at Northhampton.... any one of them could make the squad and one or two of them would be suitable as captain as well. Very exciting time for Bok fans but Rassie must live with a permanent headache.

I’m sad to be 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 what a disaster our WRU is, all our boys who play for English teams, French teams are completely removed from playing international. The boys are punished for earning more money in other clubs. The amount of talent left to play for other teams is ridiculous. And to top it off from the very few players we have, Gatland has a 25 cap rule alienating the remaining good players. Backwards! A once structured solid team in Wales is no more!!

Considering they haven’t played together for a few months, Marx has just come back from injury and some of them are having a debut without much training within the Boks style. I would only expect +20.

Lol, I hear you brother. But as an SA fan, I still support you, even after the drubbings over the years, and that very painful 2015 semi final exit you gave us. We must keep our respect between us, it's the height of rugby rivalry. The 2 of us are tops. We have legacies to defend.

@superrainbow2893 Hahaha very very true. I hate to admit but I still very much respect you guys. Seeing the pride your player's have for rugby and doing it for South Africa makes myself emotional we don't have that level of mentality. I miss your teams in super rugby and hope the boks don't go to the six nations. From a Highlanders fan in Dunedin!

As a South African in NZ, it was tough to watch the NZR doco the past few weeks - I’ve come to love NZ, Kiwi’s, the All Blacks and everything that comes with that (just not the timezone difference to the rest if the world). The final was bitter sweet for me. I felt for the all blacks and NZ in general. Please don’t mind the obnoxious and erratic saffas on social media - they certainly do not speak for the majority of us. Much love and respect 🙏
