Thanks Scott The headliner is the final section of my spray foam insulation project for my 2022 Sprinter. You have given me the confidence to tackle this area, as I was concerned about the electronics and air bags. I have already spray foamed the remainder of my van except for the slider door and portions of the back door that have moving parts. My only comment to followers is if they are going to RV in cold frosty climates, the white fuzzy insulation Scott used as well as the Havolin Wool which is also heavily touted on RU-vid will allow moisture to penetrate and condensate on the inside of the metal exterior. My van initially had wool and the same white fibered insulation and after an 8-day October trip to WI. and MN., I had considerable condensation between the insulation and metal panel. I have no shower in my van and I keep my windows cracked and Maxair fan vented to reduce potential build-up and still had condensation. Spray foam has eliminated most condensation except where I could not apply foam. Thanks again. G-Man

Thanks for the comments G-Man, I have seen the spray foam approach and looks like a great option for the conditions you mentioned. Good luck with the rest of your van rebuild.

I think you installed the insulation backwards. Supposed to be black side out?

Two comments.. the link for the insulation no longer works. Also, I think (no experience here) you could have simply removed the two wire harnesses for the center console and avoided having to zip tie it to the cab roof.. Not sure as I will still be facing that.. Oh yah... did you have any trouble finding replacement foam pieces..?

Thank you for your comments, I will fix the insulation link, thanks for sharing. Don’t have a plan to re-install foam, will have to look into whether that is essential or not.

I am wondering if the extreme heat which builds up in the headliner area results in any off gassing from the contact cement or kill mat you used? I know on really hot days 95 degrees plus, even our windshield sun block off gasses. One other question, did you have any issues with the air bags once you started the van for the first time after all your work?

Hi there, as far as off gassing, sorry to say but I have no idea, but with high heat would guess many man made materials would cause some. I was super careful around the airbags so as not to disturb them, or the wiring connections. Upon start up there were not codes or lights, all has been good.
