SPRITE PORK ADOBO | PORK ADOBO with SPRITE and OYSTER SAUCE | PINOY SIMPLE COOKING
PORK ADOBO is a popular Filipino dish which has rich flavors of pork in soy sauce. There are different ways to make adobo ,this version uses lemon lime soda like sprite and oyster sauce which makes it sweet and more flavorful. This adobo is my kids' favorite. Here is how to make SPRITE PORK ADOBO:
SPRITE PORK ADOBO RECIPE :
Ingredients:
2 lbs pork, cut into chunks
1 large onion, chopped
7 cloves garlic, chopped
2 cups lemon lime soda (SPRITE)
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
3 tbsp vinegar
4 dried bay leaves
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper, divided
2 tbsp oil
Directions:
1. In a pan or wok, heat oil over medium high heat.
2. Add onion and garlic. Sauté until lightly browned.
3. Add pork, season with salt and pepper. Cook until meat is browned on all sides.
4. Add soy sauce and oyster sauce. Continue to sauté. Stir until all meat is covered.
5. Stir in lemon lime soda, pepper and dried bay leaves. Cover with lid and let it simmer over medium heat for 30 mins. Stir occasionally.
6. Pour in vinegar. Do not stir and let it simmer for 3 mins.
7. Cover with lid and let it simmer for 10 mins.
8. Remove the lid and continue to simmer for 15 mins or until sauce thickens. Stir occasionally.
9. Serve and Enjoy! Best served with steamed rice.
