These scales surpassed my expectations, I was kinda hoping for a bit more texture as the G10 could be a bit slick at times but wow that titanium just sticks to your hand in a way the smooth G10 never did. Also cleaned and buffed up everything on reassembly and it came together perfectly centered with zero fiddling. Thanks for making the argument against caring about the weight, pushed me over and I absolutely love it!

Very nice ,I just ordered black micarta scales for my blade hq exclusive with m4 , the g10 is not grippy enough and want the all black look.i can’t wait to see your texture on the titanium scales, I may build mine that way . Awesome videos.

Looks so good. Great video too! Nice transitions for Halloween. I got the knife joker exclusive shaman in cruwear so I can’t do the ti on that model with a coated blade but I would buy another one for this. Awesome.

Long time subscriber first time comment ! "Nice" Can't wait to see the full Transformation! Started my collection 30 Year's ago but Really started collecting 15 Months ago now I have 25 Folders in my collection and the first Spyderco will be added soon my local Mister minute (shoe repair shop )has had a Spyderco delicate salt 1 sitting in the display case for over a year now and I have watched the price slowly drop from $194 Australian to $149 last week so I offered them $120 waited till last Friday and put down a $50 deposit for the agreed $120 price tag! I can't wait to pick it up this Friday !!

I’m thinking about doing this to a 15v shaman…yes, it’s gonna be heavy and insane but (aside from my usual micarta + tool steel obsession), it’d be everything I want in a *ridiculous* shaman. Tool steel, check…stonewashed blade (that matches the scales), check…stonewashed titanium clip and titanium backspacer, check. The only thing…ONLY THING that would trump that is a fully stonewashed lc200n or magnacut blade to make the whole works a “salt” model in addition. That probably isn’t gonna happen…they tend to satin finish those steels and I feel like if you’re going this far in, you might as well go full monochromatic, futuristic Star Trek nerd with it. Now that I have my cruwear shamans, a 15v/micarta shaman, etc. I flip flop between the spacey titanium look and some sort of fat carbon fiber obscenity…but I don’t have the latter as thoroughly plotted out yet.

Definitely going to pick up a back spacer, but $129 for the scales?! Damn, going to have to think about that. I figured they'd be more than other Flytanium scales due to the extra milling operations, but I wasn't expecting that much.

I would buy more flytanium if they didn’t despise lefties for some reason. Those 2 little clip holes don’t change the aesthetic. I can drill my own holes on full liner knives but not on most benchmades

This looks great! If I had to pick one knife and ditch all the rest, it would be my trusty Shaman. How is the texture of the new scales? They look bead-blasted, but are they grippier than the original G10?

No. They're smooth/stonewashed like the blade. Very slick. Thats part of the reason I want them textured 👍

I was having problem on find these scales for my black coated shaman... founded metonboss and is waaay better than flytanium... with square edges. I really dont like round edges on scales. It became more modern body... I recommend.

Flytanium gives you 2 scales for $70 less than one Ti Hinderer scale. Nice knife!

I’m wanting a few things for my knives, Deep carry clips (Spyderco wire styled ones and the “spoon” styled ones and Benchmade.) Custom metal scales (mostly for the spyderco’s with no liners. But I would also like black metal scales for a Para 3.) And custom thumb studs (for the Benchmade as I fell their are too short.) Any idea where I could get those things from? I’m also not in North America unfortunately. (I also seen custom metal scales for a SAK and they looked nice, and Star Wars themed ones but again can’t find any for sale. And do you know if anyone makes metal scales for the Sog ultra XR?) Any help is much appreciated!

@@metal_complex that analogy makes no sense lol. If my truck has Chinese parts then it was my choice to buy it that way an not decide to put Chinese parts on it. I was just being sarcastic, settle down. I do think the knife looks better w ti scales regardless of where they are from. I think titanium makes everything look better but just not a fan that they are chinese made 🤷🏼‍♂️
