As much as I did respect Ignitus.. I would have loved more details on things regarding the war and the history of the dragons from him, always felt he could have given a little more..
Gary Oldman is one of the best actors of our day imo, and this is definitely in my top 5 favorite roles of his, alongside Lord Shen, Sirius Black, Victor Reznov, etc.
Ah yes. The best guardian of the whole trilogy. Dude I love Ignitus, he's a really intrigant character with a great personality and a very complex but strong mentality. I just wished they really gave him a lot more of development, specially in The Eternal Night, there he felt just like a tracker more than an authority figure. Dawn of The Dragon did something to fix that, making him more aware of Spyro and Cynder and care about them to the point of sacrifice for them. Still, while wasn't too much focus on him in the game and it happened quite fast, still was a very touching and painful moment that serves good to his character. And when he becomes the new Chronicler, well now it's fine. Glad to see that Ignitus is getting some love, he deserves it. Great video! I hope this means we will get videos about the other guardians.
If I had a nickel for every time a character played by Gary Oldman was a father figure to a chosen one and died protecting said chosen one, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. Jokes aside, Ignitus is a great character and will always be Spyro's dad to me, even if that's only headcannon.
I love how you Summarize this stuff man. Truly these games have epic stories and characaters. Kinda wish there was a more official backstory for the guardians. Who subscribes to the possibility of Ignitus being Spyro's biological father? I almost wanna believe it's canon or at least hinted at but guess we'll never know. Volteer is personally my favorite of the guardians (can't wait for ya to see more on him I hope❤️⚡️) but Ignitus was definitely a special character, and I'm glad he had a relatively happy ending :3
Great video, im happy that you picked Ignitus, he needs some care and love in community. Personal question Lore of the dragon, what are your fellings and thoughts on Ignitus in general as a character in game and story?
Thanks! Tbh I wish there was more on his backstory? But I like the character either way, taking him for how he is in the games he really to have a commanding presence, but can temper that when let’s say he needs to deal with someone like Spyro. And of course his role as a father figure is nice, would like to see him return in a new game, though I know it wouldn’t be the same Ignitus we know
@@loreofthedragon I agree with you. They could have done alot with him in the games, but im still happy with what we got. Ignitus is one of those very underated characters on Spyro series and he deserves better. It would have been great to return him back as a Chronicler, but at the same time not really a great idea. Because Activision Blizzard would probably retcon him like what they do with other characters not from original series.
Tell you what. Ignitus is my favorite Dragon Guardian in The Legend of Spyro Trilogy, and also one of my favorite fan favorites of Spyro the Dragon game franchise, because Ignitus is very cool, and he's also a best mentor and like a father figure to Spyro. 🙂
Great Video LotD! tbh I like to add my theory on Ignitus. I do believe he is not dead, but alive. first reason I think this is the case is that the Chronicler is seen in the cutscenes of Eternal Night while he is telling the story of the first purple Dragon, Malefor. there is another theory that he is a dragon spirit and can't leave the Celestial caves. if that were the case why was he in the cutscene of Malefor's story. which takes place in Warfang. My other theory goes that the title of the Chronicler has to be passed down alive. so in this case the Chronicler is alive and is in a stasis where he doesn't age. with that Ignitus has to be there in person to get his new title. my second reason for my original theory is Ignitus's Spirit at the end of Dawn of the Dragon is a story device. nothing more than to show the player the illusion that he is dead. same goes for Spyro with the dragon constellation in the sky. just a ploy to get the player thinking that ignitus/Spyro is dead. as for the voice Spyro and Cynder hear of Ignitus, there hearing it but thru telepathy. I belive Ignitus had this ability from the very beginning of.. well A New Beginning. Ignitus gave info for Spyro and Sparxs on where there going next place they visit. I believe he is using that same ability at the end of DotD. for a last ditch hope to give Spyro the last push he need. True dad right there B). anyway, that's my theory on Ignitus. I hope you found my theory interesting or got a laugh out of it. have a good day.
