I have had this truck for 6 years, and unfortunately, COVID-19 has given my son and I the "at home time" needed to get it done.

Dana 80 Rear.
454, Turbo 400, divorced NP205.
Dirt Logic 4" Coil Overs.
37" Tires and 22" rims.

I like the I have a shop I just don’t work in it comment, as a field mechanic I totally agree. Working in a shop gets old! Until it’s august in Houston then those 110 degree days on concrete pads get old fast. 😂👍🏻👍🏻

I took the whole rear frame of my f150 apart and replaced all the rivets with 7/16 hardware, worked great and like you I had to just drill them slightly, you’re doing a great job, I love watching home builds like this. Even cooler that you’ve got your son involved

Thank you. I think it does show people it is possible. There are many delays, but we just have to focus harder and do something every day. I tell my son, no matter how minor, do something everyday to move forward.

Very nice work!! This truck is going to be awesome if you continue on this trend. I understand fully about nickel and diming on expenses! Those grade 8 bolts add up! Nice video. Keep it up.

I have a 77 crewcab long box I’ve been wanting to make a 4x4 shortbox. Great video very helpful and motivating

Thank you. My truck is now a 7 foot bed. Frame was cut 4" behind the cab and 8" off the end. Bed was cut 4" in front of the rear wheel and 10" behind the rear wheel. Look at the gray lines on the thumbnail. That's where I cut. I need to do a video on this 😄.

Dock Station are you using shortbed tanks or a rear mount?

@@ChadListentome I am gonna reuse the long bed 20 gallon tanks, in the same spot. I only cut 4" out behind the cab. I should have just enough room. We went with a 7 foot bed. We think 6 is too short and 8 too long. 🤷‍♂️😅.

Awesome I’m looking forward to some updates. I ended up finding a 4X4 K30 crew cab, I haven’t revealed on my channel yet. Probably going to make a video of it this week.

This is a nice truck should ride a lot better with the front end swap up front 👍 I’m just wondering if your going to cover up the ford name on the lockouts on front hubs? Haha 🤣 👍🇺🇸🏁

Yes 😁. But that's because the rims come with a center cover. 😁

Copy that. Thank you. I want to get rid of them all together. I think where the rear shock is mounted, that is strong enough for a coilover. We won't be towing with this truck... so it's on my mind now. Just need to 4 link it. 😅

I'm getting our next project ready. It's a 1981 Scottsdale 4x4. I am going 4 link front and rear ☺. I have so many parts in a cart ready to order.. My wife is going to kill me... 😅

I built it myself 🥺. I used parts I had laying around. 2" DOM tubing (control arm material). Ballistic Fabrication joints and suspension mounts. I bent the shock hoops myself with a tubing bender. The hoops are 1.75" o.d. and .120 wall. I bought the coilovers used off ebay.

I do have a parts list. ☺ I have it on Excel on my computer. I'm at about $15,000 so far 🤢🤮, but I have been buying parts for 6 years. That includes the $2,000 purchase price of the truck.

Did the perches on the ford read end line up with the Chevy chassis?

No. The Ford axle perches are much wider. I did not record the actual measurements. 😖

@@ReshardsAutomotiveWorkshop no worries. I’ve got an 04 super duty and a 74 crew cab project. Thinking of doing this along with the diesel motor swap. It doesn’t pass smog and o live in CA🤦‍♂️

You said c20 when if its 4x4 even if conferted it’s considered a k20

It started life as a C20. I converted it to 4 wheel drive 😉. However that is still incorrect, because in 1988 GM decided to change the C20 to R20... and the K20 to V20 🤯...

Roughly 6.5" lift. Rear = 4" Rough County leaf springs and 2.5" Offroad Design shackle flip kit. Front = Fabtech coilovers.

Tires = 37x13.5 r22 Rolling Big Power Repulsor. Rims = 22x10 Ballistic 959 Rage.

I would have, but the 4 door never came as a short bed. This truck will have a 7' bed. We compromised 🙂👍. Thanks for the comment. I like to know how people think about this. Some just give a 👎 without telling me why.

We felt 6' was too short for the length of the cab. It looked like an Avalanche.
