My Tribute to the greatest squash player of all time.
In honor of the Mighty Khan, this video is my attempt to generate awareness among the people who have been unfortunate enough to not have seen this 'squash-god' take to the court. He's the greatest of all time and this opinion of mine is shared by a majority of the pros playing the game today & those who have retired. Also refered to at times as 'the Roger Federer of Squash', this great Pakistani was/is in a class of his own... Enjoy!

he is not the roger federer of squash, because jansher is way superior to roger in comparison of the way they play in their respective sport because jansher just defeated everyone i would change that quote to "roger federer is the jansher khan of tennis" because jansher is way much better sportsman

it bothers me when people say that he is the roger federer of squash ..Not bashing roger or anything but I dont think he dominated tennis sport as much as jansher ruled squash. Roger should be called the jansher khan of tennis

In sept 1990 Jahangir was no. 1 in the world Jansher's ranking was no. 2, I know a player who was in the worlds top ten at the same time and he confirms Jahangir was the better player and the all time best!

I'm from India and I've been playing squash for a while now. I remember watching a 1987 recording of the match between Jansher Khan and Jahangir Khan, of the Hong Kong open. It was Jansher Khan's first win over Jahangir Khan. A moment in the world of squash, my heart felt respect to both these greats of the game. Thanks lot for posting these videos.

Good point but I think Jahangir had lost his real hunger at that time. Jansher was fresh and was geared up to challenge the main man whereas Jahangir had won everything possible over FIVE YEARS. He had put everything into squash and was definitely beginning to wind down. So as I said if they had met when they were BOTH at their absolute peak I'm sure that Jahangir would have won 3-1, maybe 3-2 if Jansher played out of his skin!

The game hasn´t changed that much in the last 15-20 years I think. Nicol and Power where both loosing against those old legends when they where around 24 years of age and much faster and fitter than they where in 2006-2007 when they retired. Ramy and James are very fit but I would think players like Dittmar and Eyles where even fitter. Jahangir for me is the fittest to have ever played, he trained like a mad man.

its a great shame that they both came around the same era. Theres no doubt that jansher was the greatest retriever of the game and would casually glide round the court making his opponents look shattered,but without any doubt the greatest attacker and punisher in the game was jahanghir khan,just ask gamal awad.

Jansher comes quite close but Jahangir Khan is definitely the greatest squash player of all time. If they had played each other when they were both at their absolute peak there's no doubt but that Jahangir would have won. I agree that Jansher was an incredible squash player but Jahangir's power, speed and accuracy would've just been to much for him to handle.

Well I don´t agree with you there. What excercises are squash players doing now (that are such a breakthrough) that they weren´t doing 20 years ago? Weren´t they doing ghostings? Sprints? Olympic weighlifting? It just a matter of how hard you train...

And the funniest fact is that Jansher beat JP and Nicol many times when they where 23-24 years old. Can we not all agree JP was faster then?

And I must also add that the rackets are much better today and hard shots are made with less use of energy.

its funny to actually say that someone gave jansher in his prime a hard time but rodney martin always some what gave jansher trouble on account of his shot making ability..any one that was a retriever jansher dominated guys like ditmar eyles robertson

If jansher or jahangir started to seriously start training again i wonder just how far they could get? I think they would have a few single wins in the qualifying rounds of some tournaments but both would struggle to play two days on the run and keep a decent standard.

hey man, U did rly great video I started play SQUASH on hish school, that are 3 months what I am playing this sport... and I wish to my skill grow up... Im playing 2x in week for 1 hour .. it is enought ? and how I can train individual not on the playground ? :)

Its interesting to speculate though don't you think?...i mean its not long ago that jansher considered himself good enough for a comeback onlt to struggle a little more than he expected. Geoff Hunt did the same..he made a comeback at around 40 years of age and found it very tough. I would like to see them play each other one more time...a big money winner takes all televised event..come on you guys lets get it on!

I'm not sure about Hashim's brother and sons i have never seen them play...but i don't think Hashim's standard even when he was world champion would have been as high as even a really good club player nowadays...fantasic for the time though!
