Whats the younger generations excuse? Can't even get most of these young kids of their video games, tablets, or phones. I'm going on 9 years of cleaning windows, very blessed. Never applied for any loan or unemployment. Worked through the whole pandemic. 💪
Put the water in first then the soap if you want to avoid making too many suds! I use wash clothes instead of a huge bath towel! Great video, everyone does things just a bit differently but either way gets the job done.
There are some good tips for beginners here. I would add using a belt with a boab, (or other way of holstering tools) to prevent 1000 stoop downs a day. A sill/detail squeegee (4" is my go to) will keep the main blade wearing longer.
I'm not sure about the window cleaning side of this, but after he said one-mississippi two-mississippi, I had to give a thumbs-up I love this guy LOL he will not be training my window cleaning crews however....
Keep in mind this seems to be a training video specificly for their employees. Not intended for experienced washers with their own preferred methods already ironed out. While I don't agree with everything taught here it is one of the better tutorials out there for inexperienced/ new window washers. That being said, you will never ever see a perfect video on washing windows because everybody has their own way of doing things and nobody will all agree upon the same method.Anybody that has any significant time washing windows ( and remains open minded/ teachable) will realize this: Not be so f****** critical of it's content in the comment section. This goes to every per see on reading this now. THERE REALLY IS NO ONE RIGHT WAY OF DOING THINGS. What works for you might not work for me. The reason being, everybody's different. For example I have 2 shattered rotator cuffs ,and can't make specific movements that other people can. This is why you guys need to stop being so f****** pigheaded and realize there's no one way of doing s***. A true professional would already know what I'm saying and wouldn't be such a dick in the comment section.
The thing I find funny is that the customer likely doesn't care with HOW you get the windows cleaned, just that the result is satisfactory. People can get too concerned with being an artisan.
You make it seem so simple. I used windex a sqegy and a mop to wet the window but it kept leaving streaks. So after five hours doing five and below stores with news paper and a windex bottle it still looked like shit. I never thought of dawn . Thanks for this video I will try this at my next job
956wicho956 , "streakx" leaves a film. A soapy solution makes a good surfactant (surface acting agent) also lube for the blade. that squeegee off leaves a clean surface.
I would strongly recommend NOT touching anything except glass with your glass squeegees. Keep a separate 6" channel for those ledges. I can not irradiate that enough.
A lot of "experts" responding to this video. Were his windows clean when he was finished? Did he do them in a timely fashion? Yes, and yes. That's all you need to know.
He is not a real window cleaner he is a sales man pretending to be a window cleaner to sell his products. He was slow as fuck, how do you know the windows were clean you didnt get close enough and see it in the right light there could be fingerprints and bird shit still on the windows and you would never see it without being there, i bet he dosent know if the top windows are clean because he used a fucking wankers pole, never use a shitty pole gt a ladder and get your fat ass up those steps so you can see the way he cleaned the top windows reminds me of my grandma trying to do her own windows fucking terrible job . I have been a window cleaner for coming on 21 years now and there is so much wrong with this guy. for one i have never seen a fat window cleaner, maybe a bit chunkey yeah but not full blown MacDonald's overhang. You can tell hes not up and down ladders.
@@emilionunez4566 no worries. I use iso or I have a scraper that's just a sharp Stanley like Blade in a handle but you have to be careful using it not to cut into the glass dude.
I've been washing windows for like a year and honestly not once has anyone ever talked about a commercial water key. I've been living off kindness, luck and $1 water gallons jugs. Looks like I'm going to Home Depot
This guy is hilarious & look at the results! The windows sparkle. Love the mountain technique. Will try it to clean shower glass doors. But maybe only 1 mississippi since i won't need so much water. Erradiate lmao. He's got heart. I would totally hire him.
Hi . I do the tops and bottoms mountain style (if that's what ya call it). Your method on the tops leaves a strip is shit along the top on your 2nd pull ( if you don't take the extra time to wipe your blade dry after your first pull. And if you did then you're just wasting time ( in my opinion).
Protip: Blackout glass in the summer melts microfiber crap. Oh and so does your dryer. Just avoid the stuff. Bath towels and huck towels is all you need.
He is just avoiding the top seal to eliminate detailing the top edge. Obviously he is getting side and bottom seals we. This allows for less skilled hirees sloppy skils to get buy with.
That would matter if it were an acid since the second substance is displaced in case of getting it on the skin or in the eyes. but it is just soap so it doesn't really.matter. Unless you're adding the water with a pressurized hose, that would make a mess.
My retired, engineer neighbor taught me to use only DROPS of Dawn to "break up the dirt" & not to suds the water. It only took me til I was 40 to learn how to properly clean home windows. I am female BTW. I have a lot of respect for window cleaners & others out there actually WORKING to earn a honest living so give this young man a break & hold off on insulting comments. He's adorable even if he uses a lot of Dawn. His windows look great!
I would love to give him a break but so many mistakes in one video. The tbar is filthy, to much soap, trying to tell people to use a towel of any kind to touch up mistakes. This guy is a decent at home window cleaner but is deft not a professional.
washing dirt away isn't the only reason soap is used. It's also a lubricant to help the squeegee glide along the glass and therefore some people that know better use more soap. Can the squeegee rubber that you're using can dictate how much soap to use as well some will require more than others to glide easily along the glass. Once again there's no one way of doing it right.
Carrie Smith I find that after about a week vinegar has attracted dirt. If you wash the windows every week that's a good cleaner but if you wait longer than that, it is almost like putting sugar water on the windows. It's great for removing hard water stains but not as a cleaner alone.
Never, Never, Never add water to chemical! Always chemical to water. I'm also not crazy about using the squeegee on the frame even though it makes the job easier it can tear into the rubber at times.
When you take water off metal your last move dont do what he did he used his rubber use metal or plastic side if you use your rubber you will ruin your rubber by wearing a grove thank you let the sun shine threw window service
