Great stuff milo. I started working on this stuff a year ago with Victor Rodriquez. And I started at sadly at 88-91 mphs swing speed. I got so focused on slotting that I lost what a true one motion swing is. Now I’m up to 101-104 swing speed at 52 years old. I’m hitting draws, and went from almost playing the senior tees to possibly tackling the back tees again. Great video.. your program and these elite guys really are doing some good things

Great video you guys this is one thing I'd been working on really hard in my swing and one thing that I think about is putting flex into my knees at the start of the downswing You can really see this in Rory McIlroy swing. I'm able to do it slowly but I still can't do it in regular motion hitting a golf ball

Fantastic discussion. I have been working on translation of the torso and rotation of upper body earlier because I have concentrated for so many years on lower body action that I kind of forget to rotate (even though I am quite able to), resulting in getting stuck etc... I see that this "squeezing" action can goes along very well (14.55 on the video by Riley ) with what I am doing now with upper body, but now I can focus on it even more too to help get lower in transition etc... These types of discussions are great. Best video I have seen in ages.

Truly Great vid guys! Most interesting part for me was mixing in the recentering “Surfing” move with the rt booty contact w/ the chair that starts the sequence. Does rt booty stay in contact with chair till pressure shifts toward target? Then upper-body rotation takes over? I know this is all nanoseconds, but...I can feel all these things with a Swiss ball against a wall and "rolling a fingerprint" feeling as I go from bswing into transition.

OK… I have to give you guys credit. I just went out to hit a few balls with my eight iron and I have never made such easy flush contact. I think I’ve always been afraid to really bow down to the ball because I assumed I would be hitting way behind the ball. In other words, I’m standing relatively up straight when I take the backswing, and my thought process has been if I bend down as I’m swinging down on the ball I’m just going to chunk it. However, and I assume this has to do with the turning of the Upper body, my swing was easy and I hit the ball better than I think I ever have. Thanks guys. I’m gonna keep working on this. 😊

Fantastic instruction. I was hurting my back from early extension. This squeeze should help me pure the ball because it's all physiologically correct to swing Milo's way. I put a belt in a toilet paper roll and tied it around my waist. With the roll above my right thigh at waist level to squeeze and practice this loving feeling. This should keep my tailbone centered & make the rest of the sequence effortless. Thank you.

@ag358

Back stays at the target, then the squeeze or crunch is what I call it moves the pressure forward. It sets up a powerful controlled impact with divot on the correct side, basically it moves the circle forward.good stuff guys
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf 3 месяца назад
It's all one systematic move, as for the back to the target, I've seen that well overdone in my coaching career: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mkuvnoPqmeY.html

@@MiloLinesGolfyes definitely the lead hip turns up and left taking yhe shoulders up and left. I could always hit it good but when I added the correct hip move I could really compress the ball and nice divots on the correct side of the ball the distance was better and moving the ball was much easier with tight patterns . you're right about the back I see a lot of golfers that never turns properly and not positive but I think they can't possibly use the hips correctly if the don't wind up right. One of my favorite swings is Bobby Jones. Enjoy your videos
@ag358
@ag358 3 месяца назад
@@MiloLinesGolf just watched the other video and yes I agree with you, it feels and It may just be an eyelash but my hips start the crunch first, I call it that because its like I'm crunching something under my feet and the pressure transfers to the lead side which moves the circle towards the lead side and gives me nice target side divots. I think the average golfer is afraid of that move thinking they'll hit fat which it does the opposite it moves everything forward. @nicholasdemetriades9154
@nicholasdemetriades9154 2 года назад
You have to ingrain this motion as a process. It takes time,video feedback,drills and conceptualizing the golf swing as more rotational on a tilted plane rather than a linear strike to force the ball to go (with hand and wrist motion) in a straight line. You will know you executed it correctly when the ball compression and flight are on a new level in terms of distance and effort level. You will feel like you are using the ground much more efficiently. It helped me to visualize Tommy Fleetwoods iron swing and practicing in super slow motion and gradually increasing the length of the swing once the compression is good and feeling like you are using your whole body to execute a swing. Much more athletic rather than reactionary to the ball. You will focus on where you want the ball to start and see it in your mind where you want it to finish. You have to find your own feels and drills. One of my favorite things is hitting tennis balls off the grass with a hockey stick. It forces you to get that push into the right heel without spinning out if you want to get power! You can do it! Good luck!

Super video. I think what I've found difficult is getting pressure forward onto the lead leg, while still maintaining that squeeze in the trail hip. Is the lead side pressure shift coming mainly from the torso moving laterally forward?

Yes and when you add hip hinge the pelvis is still closed which sends the pelvis forward some amount as well

One thing is for sure, EVERY pro has this move to some extent! The combo of squeeze and then getting the lower body out of the way is the very essence of a good swing. The squeeze helps shallow the club AND utilizes the ground for power!

Love the video but a little confusing about bottoming out the club. As you decrease the amount of space, how do you not bottom out too early? Is it by hands in front of shaft AND right wrist cocked and trailing?

I treat my club as if it is 5 times heavier and swing it, and this squeeze move shows up naturally.

I've been a baseball player a long time. I love golf and hit the ball well but inconsistent. One day out of frustration I began to use what I did in baseball. It seems like the same swing but you're bent over. I compared to the swing standing up, the right elbow, wrists, loose grip creates, weight forward while swinging, create bat speed just like in the golf swing. And people say don't look to hit the ball. But like I said I began to think of the golf ball as a baseball I was hitting off a tee and all the parts of the golf swing started to happen naturally. I didn't have to think.

@@MiloLinesGolf I didn't know you had videos involving the baseball swing. I'm sure they're very good. I'll take a look. I've been coaching baseball a long time as well. I actually started my comment before you began comparing the golf swing to the baseball swing. Good to know that you feel the same about both swings. I made sure I subscribed to your channel. 🙌🙌

I love this swing thought for keeping the trail hip and butt back, and getting the chest down. Thank you. However, I tend to be late shifting my weight/pressure to lead side. This "squeeze" tends to aggravate that tendency. I appreciate the thought of "floating" or "surfing" my torso toward the target, but blending those movements is difficult. Any suggestions? Thanks again.

Did you find a solution? Am struggling with the same issuel.
@matthewkennedy3440
@matthewkennedy3440 Год назад
@@jnfyeah Not exactly. I am now using a pivot closer to what @Steve Pratt Golf teaches. That helps me to shift my weight/pressure to the lead side before I begin to turn, and HELPS me to stay in posture. But, I still have to practice/drill/rehearse getting my chest down to REALLY stay in posture. I find thinking of the "squeeze" mentioned in this video to be good for that practice, but I haven't been able to integrate the feeling into my actual swing.

It would be interesting to see my next guest Dr Bracke and Dr Kwon discuss the biomechanics. Riley and I are just Coaches we leave the science and biomechanics to people that know more about physiology and kinesiology than we do, but the scientists still need us to teach them how to play.

G Gankas suggests starting down via left hip external rotation , which rotates the left knee towards the target and weights the lead foot WITHOUT rotation of the pelvis . How does the above video differ from this idea

George actually uses a drill similar to this with balloons so I’m guessing it’s not far off from what GG believes.

Only certain players can throw their hips through early and have enough upper body strength to smash the ball. For example, Cameron Champ. Everyone thinks Rory does it too but if you watch closely his hips are powerful and fast but stay in tempo with his upper body. Cameron is a freak of nature.
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf 11 месяцев назад
We generally don’t like the spinning hips because of the injury risk that comes with it.

Great content. One question: with all the "sitting down" what stops the club head hitting way before the ball? I confess that scares me (maybe because i've been extending for so many years...).
