So remember how Mi-nyeo, the crazy lady, raved after the tug-of-war that she had never felt as powerful as when they leaned back? She did it again, to kill Deok-su. I've also read that this death is a reference to a Korean novel where a widow seduces and kills the soldier that killed her husband by grabbing him and pulling him off a cliff in the same way.

There are a lot of Korean culture references in the show. I learned that 212 staying alive is a thing there. They give the smaller weaker kids special abilities, like advantages or extra lives, so when picking teams it stops the usual American mindset of picking the “best” people on your team and learning to work with all people. When they call people over it is palm down. It is considered disrespectful the tell someone “come here” with your palm up. 212 death is a big story in Korea where a woman did the same thing off a cliff to save her village. Looking up all these small details makes the show soooo much better. This show was so good this is still my fave episode.

I don't think he was grooming Ali, at least before returning to the game. By that point, with the bus ticket, I think he was being genuine. The man was about to kill himsel, so I doubt he thought he'd get to play again

i feel like the dude tries so hard to be funny for attention. i've never been this distracted watching you guys. I didn't really liked his vibe and can't even finish watching cause i feel so annoyed.

You keep saying that Sangwoo put his mother's house up for collateral. . But, Gi hun stole his mother's money out of her bank account and took her off health insurance for the extra money( that's why she's so sick). Both men are not perfect sons. Sangwoo wasn't the only one pushing people off, and if he hadn't they all would have died.

Remember clause #3...if the majority decides to quit, then the player's families who were eliminated would be given money; the husband ( player 69) would have still gotten a pay day for his late wife. 🖤🖤🖤

Everyone in my fam does it lol cos beckoning with your palm facing up feels rude. Since the director is Korean I wonder if that was a specific direction that he gave the actor :O!!

Ehh never understood, why bring guest reactors on late to a show they are not caught up on. Favorite part though was him realizing the character he connected with the most was actually just a giant douche. I’m not saying there was a connection there, but… I mean, you know.

You shouldn't be afraid to say the name of someone in another country or language if you don't know it. So long as you try and don't make it a joke then its fine. Even countries and languages like mine that have almost exactly the same letters, we don't pronounce or say them the same. Like I'm Þorsteinn Guðmundsson. My name is relatively easy I suppose, but a lot of our words have different pronounceistion than English speakers are use to. You could listen to an Icelandic Alphabet song if you're curious. Nobody expects you to get the names right.

Both Sang-Woo & Gi-Han are two sides of the same coin. Throughout the series we find out they committed the same selfish acts for similar reasons. The difference between these two is their conscience. Gi-Han shows his guilt & remorse for his actions & decisions. Whereas Sang-Woo doesn't feel guilty or remorse for his actions & decisions. Sang-Woo is the type that would "do it again" if given another opportunity. Gi-Han is the type that would "do it differently". We all want to believe that we'll be more like Gi-Han when our backs are against the wall. But the fearful reality is that we're possibly like Sang-Woo

Yeah, one of the VIPs was Chinese. The rest were white and at least 2 of them had American accents. Also, remember, you haven’t seen the host’s face yet. He’s the one running this rendition/season of the game.

Sangwoo tho is just realistic. He knows it’s one winner. I hate how when geehun tricked the old man everyone let him out of it, and how he’s treated his mom, but sangwoo is hated on when in reality he just knows he needs to survive. Double standards. All characters are broken and ruined. Sangwoo just did what he had to in the situation. Questionable morality is the epitome when survival is at hand. This entire show focuses on the fact that humanity actually is broken and are animals in the end because thats what society makes us be, and that the rich will overpower the poor no matter what

Loved your reactions but you're watching with the wrong subtitles. You're watching with the closed caption subtitles which are a transcription of the dubbed version. It is horrendously inaccurate. Please watch the last episode with the English subtitles

the husband and wife probably felt they would double their chances if they both played. In theory that makes sense but they didn't know what the games would be so it was risky.

I've noticed only Americans assume the vips are american(typically assuming they're white) I'm black but it's nauseating to turn everything into an American issue when this is a *Korean* drama. Murica is so arrogant

My favorite game out of all of them, but still so terrifying to think about having to cross it, especially if you're one of the first people. About the VIP calling the cop over: in Japan, it's considered rude if you use the gesture that we use to call someone over. So in Japan, if they want to call someone over to them, they use the gesture that we use when we're telling someone to go away. I'm guessing maybe it's the same way in Korea. Which would explain why the VIP used that gesture instead. I love your reactions and I'm looking forward to seeing you guys react to the last two episodes!

I don't see the darkening of the lights as inherently unfair. One player had an advantage the others didn't. Granted they would have been fine with that advantage cause it would have helped them, but it sorta wasn't fair to all the folks who had to go before him. It's debatable at least

I haven't even begun the reaction and I want to make some things clear because every comment thread devolves into the same counter points to the objection to the VIP's. TO BE CLEAR: 1) I understand it was written by non english speakers & it is difficult to find quality english acting in SK on a small budget. 2) I recognize they were supposed to be portrayed as immature morons who lucked into their fortunes yet judge these poor people. I get it, trust me, I do. There is NO EXCUSE for how absolutely sacrilegiously horrible the VIP's were: 1) WRITTEN 2) ACTED. They were an abomination and a disgrace. Even the people defending them acknowledge the CHEESY dialogue. Look at a movie like the hunt where they also had elitist A holes who played with the poor's lives yet they wrote those villains in a humorous smart way. All of the hard earned tension with these characters is wasted on these BRUTAL dialogue.
