Hey Lawyer, I just watched one of your videos where you took apart a Mul T Lock. Very impressive work! I am sure you will be interested in one of my Security Elements pinning trays once they are out. I would like to share your video on my google + profile and hope that is alright with you man? I will also comment later! Glad you are watching, Adrian

Adrian Weber It's definitely ok to share any of my videos (though some of my early videos are better forgotten), and I'll thank you for doing so. :-) Please tell me about your pinning trays... similar to mine? I only made mine because there wasn't anything I liked on the market that worked well... so its great to hear of a new product coming out. Keep the great videos coming. I've been watching your channel since before the "LockPickingLawyer" existed... I always know that I will learn something when I click on your videos.

It is more complicated than yours and different I would say. Bill is helping me a little with ideas but we are still in the prototype phase. I have a private video online which shows the prototype. It will probably take up until next year to get a final version I am afraid. It takes lots of time and effort to do this, I mean developing your own first product. I am glad that you are with me for this long already and if you need locks from Germany just let me know. I do sell locks such as the Keso 4000 and others. Hopefully I can open my webshop soon. Thanks again man! Adrian

@AdrianWeber
@AdrianWeber 7 лет назад
Hey man and sorry for the late answer! It is very simple, the R1 is a "normal" pin cylinder with 6 pins and a restricted profile where as the NW4 is the one that you can see here in the video with multiple pins, sliders and other additional security features. It is more pick resistant and therefore also more secure. Best wishes, Adrian

That Squire is very safe but beware with investing a lot of money in chains and padlocks if any angle or die grinder can cut those in literally seconds. In my opinion several hardened sackle padlocks and cheaper but bigger chains are more deterrent than only one chain and one padlock.

Wouldn't this lock be recommended for a 16mm chain as well? If a 16mm chain (Almax or Pragmasis) cannot be bolt cropped then it has to be disc cut so if the Squire ss65 lock is used (which has a shackle dia of 12.7mm) then surely that is the point of attack? The shackle dia should be the same as the chain link dia.
@AdrianWeber
@AdrianWeber 7 лет назад
As said before in many other videos the smaller Squire padlock leaves no room for attacks if you attach the chain in the right way but yes you could also use this padlock for the smaller chains of course. Best wishes, Adrian

Nice video Adrian. I will have to get one of these for my little collection. I believe this is the strongest padlock on the market. The Abus 83CS/80 and even the Abloy PL362 are super-excellent and both claim to be the top padlock but are...I think...a very very close 2nd. Still both as hard and as tough as hell but the SS80CS just pips them at the post!👍💯
@AdrianWeber
@AdrianWeber 5 лет назад
It is a ginourmous padlock and one of the hugest I have ever seen. However my personal favourite is the Mul-T Lock E18H. They both were the only padlocks with the CEN6+ rating. The Squire is a bit more massive whilst the Mul-T Lock E18H has the more secure locking cylinder and a thicker shackle which makes it look classic and just super cool!

One massive problem now is this, here in London and the UK no one are using bolt croppers anymore, there is a mass trend now with everyone using handheld battery powered angle grinders which are cutting everything....Almax, pragmasis, Abloy, squire etc etc are all getting cut in seconds now that these scumbags are all using these handheld battery powered angle grinders, even steve from pragmasis was saying these battery powered angle grinders are a big problem now, all these massive chains and padlocks are useless now with this massive trend with all the crooks using angle grinders, no one uses croppers anymore...Trackers are now the way forward andthen not even the GPS ones as they get blocked to easy, you need a tracker with RF along with GPS/GPRS/GSM.
@AdrianWeber
@AdrianWeber 7 лет назад
Hey gilera, I am really glad that someone finally brings up that difficult topic. Yes are you are right, portable angle grinders pose a big threat and are nearly not to come by. They are a problem nowadays as they are getting cheaper and more powerful. But they are not common practice in every country and they are very noisy and loud too. These days you can only buy time and scare thieves away as good as you can. This massive padlock is meant to secure construction site machines like excavators and such and not bikes. The only thing you can do is buy time and a decent lock will always buy you some time or even scare the thieve away. But yes trackers are probably the right solution for the future. If you can recommend any or made some good experience with the one or other tracker please let me know. I would love to talk about that topic and maybe even present a tracker in a video. So please go to my website and contact me through the contact form so that we can get in touch! Best wishes and I look forward hearing from you, Adrian
@metamorphicorder
@metamorphicorder 5 лет назад
The partial solution to grinders will be in the constriction of chains and locks. Its not gonna be real easy but it will involve incorporating ceramic elements into the most likely areas of attack on locks and chains. There are some other methods of doing this that can help discourage the use of grinders or other types of heat inducing power tools. Theres a lock called the skunk lock that while not in and of itself exactly what im talking about, has the right idea. It uses little capsules embedded in the lock that contain a thiol or thiol like chemical similar to the chemical that skunks emit. When attacked, the capsules break and ostensibly the thief, overcome by the smell, stops the attack and leaves. This has the down side of being indiscriminate and persistent. It will emit when ever its damaged and it will get on the bike and user as well. So if you ever have to destructively remove your lock, it will be unpleasant. Now a better way to do this would be a very soft but tough outer layer on a shackle and lock body, and chain link such that croppers would not be able to cut it, protecting the shackle or link, but if attacked with a grinder, it would off gas noxious gas. Like tar paper in the layers of a safe, additionally, if the outer shroud could gum up the grinder disc or even bind and stop it, that would be ideal.
@Mudsuitable
