White mink makes a great alternative in this pattern.

Great small streamer pattern. There are many variations out there. I tie them with a perdigon thread and tinsel underbody to give it some flash. Great fish catcher.

Nice. I like this even better than Landon Mayer's leech pattern. This has a better collar using the same material as the tail. I'm about to tie a bunch of these for an upcoming trip.

i've watched this and have no recollection of it. So commenting so when I wander in a year from now thinking i found something new I"ll be reminded of early onset alzheimer's and laugh at myself! I'll even drop a comment below!

Awesome pattern Charlie! Greetings from Austria! I had a question for you: what kind of head cement applicator bottle are you using? Looks way easier then using a sowing needle and dipping, which is what I am doing. Looking for an upgrade. Cheers 🍻

You can do a search head cement applicator bottle. There are quite a few manufacturers. And for other craft applications. Hope this helps.

I also use a needle ( John James Short Beading Needle, L4322, size 010 ). It's butt ( eye ) part is inserted into the tip of a chopstick, which I pre-drilled using a .70 mm drill bit . I used a pin vise hand drill for the drill bit. I put Super Glue on the part of the needle that's inserted into the hole I drilled. The parts for this home made bodkin are inexpensive and one can make a bunch of them in a short amount of time. Why do it? Because I only need to apply a tiny amount of glue on small flies ( sizes 22-28 ). I quit using head cement and only use Super Glue after whip finish. Just an alternative for you...
