My Merida Big Trail came with these forks, and I am impressed by them! Very easy to maintain, that Q-lock is a very nice, high end touch, and the fork is very easy to adjust! Fork feels stable even in the big jumps! I do quite a lot of stairs, so fast rebound and stability is important for me, but this fork nails it! I have the bike since 2019 and I did only 2 fork servicing! I have all the service parts, but I never had to replace any! Just re regrease everything! Yesterday, in the air chamber I replaced the original oil (after 5 years) to an 80W transmission oil, and the fork seems to be happy with it!
SR suntour forks never fails on XC, dirtjumping,all mountain,dh,enduro and I still use one since 2009 till now it never fails I swear it's really good...👌👌👌😉😉😉

Hate to say it...if it has that yellow warning sticker it isnt worth it...dont trust it! On a Patreon build I would go with a Rockshox fork! Thanks for all you do
Haha, thanks for the concern. We definitely need to test its durability. I think all but a few of our forks have the dreaded release of liability sticker, so we are used to it😉. We appreciate you and expect you to say "I told you so" if the fork fails during riding/testing🤕😁.
10:25 This is exactly why I don't cut my shifter and brake cables short. People online on Reddit got on me about having my shifter cable longer than usual (even though I still cut it down from it's length out of the box), and it really irritated me. I'd rather have "too much", and need it later, than need it later and not have enough. And I just checked Amazon for these forks; there's already only 1 left at $435 at the time of me writing this. Seems like a great fork.
Love the High end SR suntour stuff. I rode a bike with their massive Durolux38 with 170mm travel and it was butter. I currently run Marzzochi right now (another "budget" brand you guys should check out) but when I'm ready to swap my big bike's suspension, I want too try high Suntour. I already have the Trusty Epixon too and I adore it!
I bought the Schwinn Ascension 29 in 2021. Big mistake IMO. Had nothing but problems. I just got a Specialized Rockhopper. Much better bike, very reliable so far. Love the content. Has helped me alot! 💯
We really like the Ascension, but it needs alot from the get go if you want to ride it hard. They over priced it from the beginning, but it also set some new standards for alot of budget bikes, with its internal routing. The Rockhopper is a solid bike. Thanks man 👍
Great choice on the Rockhopper..which model did you end up with? I got a 2022 Specialized Rockhopper Sport 29😉!! Im currently upgrading everything on it...its a great frame as a base!
For "500ish" new for the base models, you cant go wrong. And tons of aftermarket for upgrades. But being a Specialized Pitch owner, may be a little biased 😏. Congrats on your new bike!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Agreed. I rode it hard from the start. I replaced the back rim. Put Shimano 9 speed cassette. Shimano Deore derailleur. Orange PNW grips (Affiliate link) Orange RockBros pedals. I gave it 2 my Nephew. He just rides 2 school and paved trails. New standards 👍 Internal routing, Tapered head tube, 1x. 👍
Yea, it's just a matter of taking or adding spacers on the air spring. I would be curios to see if it came without spacers for 150mm travel from the factory.

I honestly think it is still a budget fork when you compare it to other comparable forks... I honestly think Suntour makes some amazing forks and best bang for your buck when you get into their higher end stuff
It might be better if the fork has a little give when locked out, than risk blowing the hydraulic damper seals on a big hit. I believe it may have contributed to a lower seal failure I experienced, but maybe not. 🤔 Overall, nice looking fork, excited to see it in action.
The Himalo Boost Trail FS frame? Getting mass produced in three colours under the Fastwork name in China. I'd recommend getting the 29" version (only geometry change is a longer chainstay) because with 27.5" wheels fitted it's prone to pedal strikes with 170mm cranks just running up ramps on the street. It's a slamming cheap frame though, and a DNM AO-38 shock works just fine. I've ridden it down mountain DH trails at 3000m altitude and it's been performing well for the money ($353usd for frame and shock) with a 160mm Suntour Durolux 36 EQ up front (although I want the 38 when it comes out, so I can fit a 220 rotor)
Hey I was in Walmart this morning and saw a new MTB. The Ozark Trail Vibe its a 27.5 with suntour forks on it priced at 298. id love to see a review of it.

Mud flaps protect your fork from rocks chippin your stanchions. It aint about the rider at all. Its the stanchions. I read that from another rider back in the early 2014's. 😊

The Tick still loves that Ledge. $429 is a bit pricey, but there are forks that cost quite a bit more. $429 is definitely NOT budget though (at least for us)🤣
Hi, I have the same fork and when I put a little bit of force on I can hear a clicking sound.Does it matter if I have a soft spring from previus owner who was 60kg and he was riding on around 65-70 psi, and now I have 95 kg and im riding on around 110 psi. Thank you
I'm in the process of upgrading my Ledge X1... curious about going a slight longer travel of rear shock. Maybe 175mm eye to eye travel (if I can even find such a thing) looks like when the shock is removed...there is room for more squish before it gets locked into low rider position... anyone else done this?
I Kevcentral said no. I was curious about the same but I left my rear travel the same. One thing to note is that you are going affect geometry and feel quite a bit. Now that I think about it I cN buy a cheap dnm rear coil shock to experiment. I think they are about 25 bucks
Never go bigger eye to eye. It will damage the frame eventually and isn't really effective. When your looking for more support/ absorption/ better ride....only real thing to do is get a better shock.
Nice fork! I’d be interested to see how this would compare with a rockshox revelation 150mm fork. They can be found very competitively priced atm in the UK what’s the US like?
My guess is the donors want WT to review something that gets almost no attention here in the States, where Rockshox and Fox get the vast majority of the spotlight. Bonus: a bike with Suntour is less likely to get stolen

@frankcastle3827 When you reply to us, try to remember to start a new thread. We don't always get notified of these run-on threads, plus the bots mess them up. Yes, we have heard of Berm Peak, but rarely ever watch. When we have time, we usually stick with watching channels in the #wolfticknation and maybe BOBO and a few others occasionally.
