Wow if I were India I would never give Sri Lanka a dime after this. Massive betrayal.

Time and again Sri Lanka acted against India's interests. But still we support and provide aids for them whenever they are in crisis. I know it's coz its strategically important to maintain good relationship with Srilanka but no matter whatever we do they are still inclined towards China. So, I think India should reconsider its Srilankan policy.

Srilanka has always been fleecing India using the China card... This kind of weak foreign relations is flawed and will always cost India heavily which is exactly what China too would like to happen ... India must assert it's security concerns more viciously... India should keep Srilanka at a distance...

If Sri Lanka doesn’t respect India’s concerns why should India help them. India should think what went wrong, I guess Sri Lankan govt still working for Chinese and not for the people of Sri Lanka and not thinking about nearest neighbor but more generous towards a country who destroyed Sri Lankan economy.

Instead of giving freebies to SLK, India should spend the same in buying weapons. SLK is a threat as they are sold.

India has given 4 Billion dollars help in tough times, Thousands of Tonnes of Fuel, Tons of Food, Fertilizers, Gas, etc.. And in return we got Hate, And this. Thank you Sri Lanka. We will never forget this return gift. But remember one thing Sri Lanka, India is the one and only Country that helped you in your tough times. One country That destroyed your economy. Another Country That's helping you to rebuild our Economy. They are willing to be with First one.

As a Srilankan I would like to apologise to our Indian friends on behalf of our cowardly and greedy government. They are getting big money from the CCP, they call it Aid but 70% of it goes to the pocket of local minister

Think twice before you show your generosity to Srilanka Nepal Bangladesh. Any help to these Countries should be negotiated well and in clear terms. That's the way you need to deal with these guys. Am sure MEA is more qualified but looking from outside that's what it seems

Perhaps the better option INSTEAD would be to invest tax payers money very huge nuclear floating carriers equipped with latest state of art weaponry and name them sovereign territories of India (to be taken at any place of engagement)..and invest in satellite technology and advanced attack systems ...AND stop the financial aid to such other countries so as to do away with the uncertain "expectations" of their assistance. Then take over lost lands and restore it to pre independence boundaries. PoK issue is stretched too long..with countless Indie soldiers martyred ..Get to the root of it , take over Pakis..incorporate Indie Army governance ...all the rest will fall in line ..Pok issue will cease to exist...for the better good of all. Thereafter, concentrate on tackling the remaining foe... If Sri Lanka refuses to cooperate ..take it over by annexation..for the better good of all. Also...charity begins at home... weed off the corruption very very strictly and recover the amounts stolen by guilty govt. persons / their relatives and acquaintances ..by misuse of vested power ..., return what is owed to the people by ensuring affordable basic amenities costs are kept lowest. This will create smiles and people won't have to leave Indie..for better opportunities abroad. is it possible to legally voiding the lease with a repayment of the debt? if the US or India wanted to pay the debt off for that port, by, say, lending SL the money or just giving it to them, is there a clause in the lease that allows this?

Independence celebration or enemy docking in neighbourhood

India had extended full hand support to the island when ever they were going through the tough time and also India always was stood close to srilanka on any affairs. But , this nation now forgot everything hastily and stated that India concerns and explanations over docking of the Chinese spy ship is not enough to defer their decision on it . Indian Gov should learn a lesson from it and won't provide them a single support and aid .

This wouldn’t have happened if India kept LTTE active in Sri Lanka.

Both India and China can achieve much for their peoples and for the world if they agree to co- operate economically and to resolve their borders issues peacefully. There is no need for unwarranted suspicion and political confrontations.

India needs to annex the Tamil part of Sri Lanka and set up a permanent naval base. Sri Lanka is proving to be too much of a security threat and Liability.
