@@SmokingOz-nd4ew As far as I remember, this was the oldest I have seen on TV footage, Viv Richards have done a couple of times but do not remember the year. Mike Gatting did it in 1987 WC final against the Aussies which eventually was the turning point England lost that final.
Ground still looks pretty similar. Two of the three stands are still there as is the indoor centre and the caretaker's cottage. The big roofed stand right at the end of the broadcast when Benaud was talking was demolished about 12 years ago.
Some newspapers had described this as " the battle of David and Goliath " in those times ! The situation , now in 2023, is quite the reverse. West Indies are not even a part of the ODI world cup , and Sri Lanka are being considered by some as possible semi finalists.

TCA Ground, Hobart. It was the main headquarters for cricket in Hobart from around 1882 until 1987 and main headquarters for greyhound racing in the city from 1935-1980. Bellerive Oval (now Blundstone Arena) was a suburban Australian Football ground until it was renovated after the 1985 football season was completed to become the home HQ for cricket, eventually hosting its first Test in 1989 👍
