This is why the syndicate never runs off of fresh volunteers, i was on this round, mainly looting the nukie ship and once the epsilon got declared triying to help people escape in it since the other ships got shot down, sadly i died while triying to get CE out and only 3 people made it to syndie outpost.
I remember a round where I was Nukie commander and one of my men just said: “Boxing match for disk” and everyone just agreed. We had admins convert the meteor chapel(don’t remember the name of the station) garden into a boxing arena. Crew tried to cheat with drugs but we caught them in the act and we won the disk.
Nukie “The Rook” here, amazing round but I’m still salty at the fact that the commander said “oh yeah lemme play against them” before we arrived, only for me to find out he had an elo of 400 💀
oh man this made me remember the time i won the Captain's Antique Laser Gun in a chess match as a clown traitor against the cap. One of my greatest moments playing this game
Once had a funny nukie try to box for the disk. Half the station came, engineers converted a part of Cargo into a makeshift ring. The nukie almost lost, but at the end he got near a corner with cap and other heads, and blew up with implant, then other nukies shot us all lmao.
@@SuperDicqno chessops is against the rules(or was made against the rules after this round), because it falls under friendly antags as far as I believe
@@boaz6346 The admin's job isn't to indiscriminately enforce the rules, the admin's job is to enforce the rules in a way that keeps the server fun and sustainable for as many people as possible. So while chessops is something you SHOULDN'T do (because jokes like this get overdone real quick), it definitely doesn't deserve a ban in this case. If like every other nukie round devolved into chessops tho, then bans would start to become justified.
@@stanthecarpenter2718nah it wasn't an admeme, I was a part of the nukies. We did this by ourself, I ahelped to ask if anyone was gonna be punished and they said "copperating with known antagonists" so I this command got warned
Better than having the same bumrushers that just piledrive in and end the round or end up being a massive annoyance regardless. Variety is the spice of life.
The funny thing is I won by being a Botinist-Opp. I was traitor Felind who was suppose to kill the cap and head enge, but a botched implant glitch my points away, preventing my tasks to be done. So I decided to just go back into roleplaying. Fortunately, a miracle happened: A plant anomaly popped up in the kitchen and this was before the nerf. So I bide my time and played it cool. I grew a lot of wheat and tomatoes because Pizza Time is always the best time. Then it happened; The anomaly went critical and did my work for me, killing my targets with the monster spawns. Easiest Green Text and I didn't have to do anything.
I was one of the Death Squad members (maybe even the one you were following, i'm not sure)! Fun round! And before anyone complains, no, chessops isnt banned or whatever by the admins, this was just an admeme, doing chessops wont get you in trouble. It's great RP (though i personally would like to se other gimmicks used more often)
Because of the decentralized nature of the game it is impossible to tell which one is more popular. It's impossible to get accurate player numbers because people might be playing on unlisted servers and things like that. But there's always enough people to play with on both games. Which is probably what you wanted to know. The difference between SS14 is that it is remake from scratch without using the BYOND game engine. This means SS14 is able to do a lot of things that SS13 isn't able to do because of engine limitations. Personally I would recommend SS14 simply to not have to deal with BYOND which is just a really terrible piece of software. Also I think SS14 has a more "beginner friendly" experience even though the learning curve is still quite steep.
I've never understood why the admins hate chess ops. It doesn't happen very often and it's the spaceman version of a gentleman's duel. If Nukies did the same thing every game it would get boring.
Because the command crew aren't allowed to let the bomb go off. They aren't even really supposed to allow nukeops to exist on their station. And nukies are supposed to set off the bomb no matter what. If everyone is playing their roles correctly, nobody has a valid reason to honor the chess match. The macrobomb was a great play though.
@DrEnzyme command is held to a higher standard, they have to "play their roles" (not necessarily roleplay, but as in do their job to the best of their ability) they don't really get the privilege of being silly when there's a genuine threat to the station. Same with security. Letting antagonists harm the station and crew as these roles should have you role banned, if you're going by the books. Which is why admins hate chess ops, because it opens the door for people to ignore their responsibilities and then scream "shitmin" when they get hit with a command ban. Nukes can try whatever op they feel like, but the station sec and command are expected to react in a consistent way to known threats.
Everyone talking about this not being by rules it could be argument by captain wanting to seize the bloodshed that ensues on nukie rounds. and negotiation in benefit of station is allowed in rules , also I think it is pretty shitty that they enforce this, It is same idea i had in mind with bad command/captains, crew should be able to "antagonise" if it's necessary to get rid of tyranny and after all this is somewhat reasonable @tamnker8465 @pokemonfanmario7694
