Also, suit sensors are tied to your ID. So if you name yourself EPICPERSONX and have your suit sensors on, you'll be tracked by that name on the console.

Addendum: I discovered this a few days ago; it turns out the detective's Fingerprints pads have no interaction with personal ID cards and face concealment, and are also unaffected by records being deleted. What this means is, if you take someone's fingerprints, the pad will give you the actual name of that person, even if shift clicking on them gives you a different name (you could have an agent ID and a gas mask on, but the Pad will identify the proper name of your body); it will even give you the person's name if their records are all gone from the criminal records computer. This means that, if you have a missing fugitive and lots of people running around who aren't on the manifest or with facemasks on, asking to take their prints could be a good idea to check their identity without them getting too suspicious about it.

Issue with this is most people will refuse having their fingerprints checked, and even if you do it and find the fugitive who somehow allowed you to take their prints, they'll change disguise while you're running the prints.

@@rubles3143 well no, here's the thing: the pad itself, upon being used, automatically updates its name to match that of the person you used them on. You don't have to run someone's prints when their ID says David Spaceman, but the pad says John Syndicate. I caught one syndicate operative this way, by sheer chance and a touch of awareness. There was this passenger running around, who wasn't on the manifest. No big deal, we had two clerical errors already. I'll just get their prints next time I see them, to have a way to check for prints in the future. I intercepted them, and they agreed to have their prints checked. Got the prints and let them go... And then I noticed the name on the fingerprint pad didn't match their ID. The pad said I had the fingerprints of the suspect Chef who had gone missing maybe 20 minutes ago! We then confronted them about it, he tried to make a run for it but got caught, and I found a bottle of noct with his prints on it.

Seems like a good cover for people carrying agent IDs then is to fake the mime job, grab a mime costume and never speak. Less suspicious when mimes dont speak

Your pda will be a bit of a giveaway since it's of the wrong job if anyone looks at your gear.... or if you just have the agent ID in your pda slot, it's also a giveaway since it will look like a passenger ID.... Hope this helped. Give sec hell!

Also if it's not obvious you can put an ID in your backpack and people won't be able to see it and identify you. So if your id is wanted but you have access privileges that you need, you can keep that ID without people knowing it's you until you're searched. Or just buy an agent ID card and scan your original ID, that works too.

you can also put it in a coat's storage if you're wearing one, there's a good chance any secoffs that do randomly search you won't ask to see your coat and will just search your bag/pockets.

Also with the lost shuttles you'll see a lot of people on station who are not on the manifest. A LOT more room to become a different person, provided you can steal uniforms.

Something to note, if you use the voice mask over the radio, it will come up as unknown unless you imitate the name of a crew member

If you name your agent id as your real name the wanted status will stay, what i do if i still need to talk and dont want people noticing my name does not match the voice is just to typo the real name Ej: breaks-the-doors (real) breaks-the-door (fake) Otherwise i change the name and clothes every time someone has a lead on me.

voice mask use broke: steal an ID and change your voice to their ID woke: change your name to "THE MAINTENANCE SLASHER" and kill people in maints bespoke: create an elaborate killing machine, kidnap people, then change your voice to something creepy and ask people if they want to "play a game" (this will take too long and the round will end)
