SSA Form 7050 f4 walkthrough (Request for Social Security Earnings Information) 

many thanks for this great public service. What i'd like to know is does it really take 4 months for them to process this request? also, how will they send me this info, via regular mail ? thanks

@@KS-rl4cc , I do not know whether it actually takes the SSA 4 months to process this form. However, the form instructions state that applicants should allow up to 120 days for processing. I would think that it might take less time, but having the 120 day wait time also cuts down on phone calls. Also, the form instructions indicate that applicants should receive their statements by mail.

In my case, I'm still waiting after 2 years, I called the SSA office, and they could only send emails to the Baltimore office, and they don't respond. FYI, in my bank account the $144 has been deducted. Smh

I don’t know what to advise, other than trying to schedule an in-person appointment. At least if the person can’t help you, you can ask to talk with a supervisor at the SSA office to try and escalate the issue for you. Responding to your other post..at least you know they got your form, if they debited your account for the fee. You should definitely be able to use that to your advantage.

I don't know whether the SSA would generate any earnings information for you based upon an ITIN. You should probably ask the SSA whether they can do this.

To my knowledge, there shouldn't be a limit on the number of years that you can request on an itemized earnings statement. The fee is $100 regardless of how many years of earnings history that you request. To have it certified, there is an extra $44 charge. However, if you're looking to correct your earnings history, you normally have 3 years & 3 1/2 months after the tax year that you are looking to correct. The SSA website states some exceptions where you may be able to correct earnings history beyond that point: faq.ssa.gov/en-us/Topic/article/KA-02603#:~:text=Ordinarily%2C%20you%20cannot%20correct%20your,with%20the%20Internal%20Revenue%20Service. I do not know whether processing is faster in person or if you mail it to the Maryland office. To my knowledge, the SSA website states you should wait at least 120 days, but I don't know if you'd get a different answer by talking with someone in person. If you haven't already, you can go online and set up an SSA account to get an earnings history. It won't be as detailed as the itemized statement, but you can access it much more quickly: www.ssa.gov/myaccount/statement.html
