the worst part is TODAYS update they put a little question mark at the top of the chat. And it talks about WHAT YOU CAN'T SAY. I don't think Sso is going to realize that people saying nasty things are going to follow these rules.

This is genuinely scary, this kind of stuff on a KIDS game?! This is auctally scary, those kids might run into bad people and possibly get hurt!

And then my friend got banned because she said "kids stop arguing in the globale chat !" ... for ONE WHOLE WEEK.

How can we expect AI to be able to understand context and intent when many humans can't even do that?

I'm not even shocked, The community is so divided and the amount of sexual, racist, Homophobic things being said is actually disgusting. As an older player, I'm extremely disappointed in the community that allows this along with the developers. The developers seem to want to cover their asses and not take responsibility. I've said it before and I still stand by that point: Star Stable does NOT care about their players. They care about the money coming in, but they don't care about their player's experience while playing. They don't fix mods (or at least take months to do so), they don't offer anything to older players, constantly get rid of old events (No could-kingdom this year) and they couldn't care less about their chat being a mess. They. Don't. Care. Edit: I play in a german server and the "Breeding" roleplays are really popular....

They can make all the statements and rules they want, but ACTIONS speak louder than words.

I LOVE that everyone is finally speaking about the chat problem. I'm on Nightstar, it's absurd to open general chat especially at night (ironically.) Me and my buddy have an inside joke of "never go on Nightstar at night" "Nightstar after 8pm be like:" because of how bad it is.

I am elderly and love this game, I play with my granddaughter and do not use chat at all. They should get rid of chat. Sadly money is more important than safety.

I used to be a moderator for a big game. (I will not get into specifics about the game). But I'm kind of happy that they shut the entire moderator team down. Kids really shouldn't be moderators for various reasons, most notable: being a moderator is a lot of hard work and kids shouldn't be slaving away. Especially not for in game rewards, or worse: nothing at all. That said: having a moderator team is still incredibly important for an online game. SSO being a million dollar company should just hire some adults to do this job. Both having kids as mods and not having mods at all is so incredibly greedy and wrong.

They need the chat that was there in the old days. Yes, it was frustrating but it was so much safer. I don’t remember it being this bad at all back in like 2016-2017. I don’t even open the chat anymore when I play. I still see this stuff on Pumpkin Meadow! This is insane. SSO needs to do better.

Literally today I opened global chat to say "Happy Pride" (some people were already saying it) and it was followed by a group of people saying "jesus hates f#gs" over and over again. I got involved in trying to stop it and this lead to that same group of people telling me to "sK#LLs yourself, you deserve to>>>". Ofc I reported it to the support team, but I doubt anything will get done. It's sad that myself, as a player, and MANY others often give up when trying to report because of how bad their customer service is. It's disgusting really. Based on their attitudes, I don't see a company that wants to keep a game of quality and alive, but a game that is dying and they just want to make as much profit as possible until the day that happens.

What's also important to mention.. The rudeness, bullying and harassment I can read nearly everday in the global chat. There are so many teenagers who think it's cool and edgy to be mean to people that are just trying to be friendly and have a good time..

As of todays update we now have ingame Chat rules with the threat of being banned from using chat if you break said rules, we will see if they keep up with that threat. Thanks for the video, this needs to be more known in the community for sure.

as someone who grew up with unsupervised internet access (i feel like that's a lot of us though) and has been straight up traumatized (due to childish morbid curiosity, borderline grooming from randos, and, like you mentioned, desensitization) i really fear for the kids that play this game (or kids who use the internet in general). stuff like this can genuinely mess a person's mind up for the rest of their life

SSO is slowly dying whether we want to admit it or not and it's starting to show. There are Roblox games with higher player counts than what SSO has which is not a good sign at all. They can not afford to ignore player wants and needs.

customer support changed my email addres after a full month of back and forth, but i had to write in two languages because english one got sent to a bot who kept forgetting what it wrote before so it kept circling around the same question for like a week! And they claim they have no bots in support yeah right

LITERALLY LOVE YOU, RATTLE! I’ve heard of this happening and was hoping you would cover it!! It’s absurd that people say slurs, swear words, sexual things, etc. and the SSO team does absolutely nothing, but when someone says something that should be completely fine is banned/suspended. Too many creeps and people get away with this on games marketed towards kids like SSO or Roblox knowing the moderation won’t really do anything.🤦‍♀️

I don't understand why they don't have a premade banned words list that they update per reports by users. Don't have to pay for a shitty AI and players basically do their job for them.

I have asked for years for them to add human moderation. It is probably the only way to get the kids to stop spamming nsfw texts in the chat. The times I have reported full on sexting in the chat and the devs not even punishing these people is insane. Back in 2013 when I was younger and just started playing sso, I was a little toxic. By toxic I mean telling other kids that their youtube channel will not get any attention (awful of me, I know) and THAT got be permanently banned from the chat. But now, kids are able to describe their private parts and tell each other to have sexual interactions but they do not even get a week long ban from the chat.

I mainly left Night Star to be with my friend, but also because (as a 12-14 year old, I used to be on a different server but moved somewhere around then) of the DISGUSTING state of these chats.... UUuurghhhh

I agree with you on this. The problem with the chat is that some people use it to get in contact with others to either become friends or to use them as victims. And some of them are using explicit language on purpose, to fish for victims who are either gullible or willing to be used. The moderators rather sits on their asses doing nothing to stop this, or stops the honest, good people from helping each other with different quests by blocking the chat from users to mention RU-vid channels, X or other social media, or even names of channels. It is so frustrating when all you want to do is to help them. It is so dumb.

I still remember when the AI first got out. It really struggled with my language and you just couldn't avoid getting 3-day chat ban every now and then even if you never said anything against the rules. Contacting customer support didn't help, because they more often responded after the ban was already over. After many chatbans (lost count lol) I eventually got banned from the entire game for a week. This time customer support did respond pretty quickly but all they really said "well that sucks" and believed my ban was deserved. Didn't give me any proof or examples of what I might've said to deserve my ban.

This honestly doesn't surprise me, night star has always had a reputation for inappropriate actions even back in 2019. Even seen the most vulgar words bypass the system just by adding grass to the sentence. Absolutely insane imo.

I didn't know SSO was a thing before I came upon your channel, I just played the original games as a kid because my step sister got them in her magazine subscription and found the game too difficult. I think keeping up with how terrible this game is through you has singlehandedly kept me from it evolving into a hyperfixation tho LMAO This is seriously worse than the state of MMORPGs in the early 2000s

I hate that w. How long I’ve played I know “roam” rps, “wild” rps, etc. “rom” whatever. I get roleplays exist and I’m fine w. That I love that stuff but it always gets too weird and I never understood why kids wanted their horses to have ‘fun’ on an online game. I mean it’s even influenced kids, and me when I was younger, to get into it a bit because those were mainly the only roles people wanted.

I hate this so much i used to human dorm roleplay with some friends in sso and the things i heard in the chat were not so great like this girl very single time would make her character want to be belted and it would go through i can’t stress this enough this chat System is getting out of hand i heard some old friends of mine quit sso cause of the chat filter and the chat System sometimes i just log off when the chat filter is to bad i can’t even say dora and me my sso friends openly joke about dora the explorer excuse me sso she’s a character from a children’s show

As a hungarian player, our previous moderators terrorised the players, randomly ban them and other stuff, also they were 20+ yo, I personally dont want moderators in the game, I want a better chat filter, or NO CHAT at all, for example its still a game for children, why do they need to talk in game? Play the game and thats it. Or maybe get a new rule in the game, if you are not 14 yo you simply cant use the chat.

while the new chat filter can be annoying when you’re sharing something completely normal and sane, 1) id do anything to have phil return, at least you knew what words were bad and you could easily say "hey that’s really not cool" and it could be sent to sso and they’d pick up what the bad ppl were laying down without explanation, instead of the bad ppl trying to say anything and everything before they finally bypass the filter like we have now 2) im glad they changed mail. in mail you could send numbers, bad words, whole email addresses and full passwords etc. literally NOTHING was censored in mail. idk (i’m still finishing the video) but the new filter for chat is ridiculous but mail has been updated nicely. i feel like AI doesn’t do enough, no matter what exactly you tell it.

I play on that server. No wonder it's been nice and unpopulated for a bit. I've also seen that sorta stuff appear in many server chats. I don't bother with in game chats unless it's ARK. At this point they should just do what Meadow did. No text, just emotes.

Where we're at is simple and terrible. Greed has overtaken priority, when compared to properly protecting children. We see it mirrored on so much social media, I feel like it HAS to reach a boiling point eventually, and more strict legislation implemented. Years from now, at this rate, however..

the chat moderators were no joke when it came to abusing power. My account had gotten banned for an ENTIRE YEAR because I said the word “Poof” in chat one time. Sso refused to listen to me when I explained how ridiculous the situation was, and they let me wait out the entire year ban. I could not log on for a YEAR. Stacy Place “couldn’t do anything about it” but I called BS. They did not care.

I usually keep my chat closed in game. this video makes me kinda glad i did. also- i saw the player name ending in "bigback" not knowing much of it and accepted their friend request.. 💀

what boggles my mind is i can’t say “anyone hosting a flat?” or post an ad with the word FLAT in it.. but people can say the N word or be homophobic, say sexual things etc ???

i remember when i joined my first ever club on sso and well… the club leader got freaky with one of the members and started doing 18+ in club chat until someone had to tell them to go in private cuz it made them uncomfortable.

So your telling me a 40 year old man could roleplay in a breeding rp with a bunch of 12 year old or younger girls???, and are they ACTUALLY roleplaying how horses mate...?

It's so disappointing to see how easy people can get away with nasty things honestly. Had a fight in global chat with someone once because they invited an 11 year old to a 'spicy roleplay' and they said it was fine because the child consented to it. They didn't even have to do anything complicated to get to that either, just advertised their roleplay, got a child in it and thought that was completely fine :/

As a german roleplayer myself who used to play some innocent magical wild horses years ago, I am terrified. wtf has happened with Star Stable and the people on it. Edit: Also I agree the report system is a real problem. I reported a cheater once and then they sent me an E-Mail stating I shouldnt cheat and why and what counts as cheating and I was just sitting there dumbfounded like: You dont have to tell ME? I just reported it! wdym??

Dude I once got banned for reporting a player for getting past the filter and saying really gross and racist stuff on the game. They literally sent me an email back telling me they were going to ban me for a while and sure enough I was banned

I have an idea: only friends and club chat! You can chat with friends irl or people on sso who are nice and you can just simply hit ignore if someone in you club/one of your friends says something bad, it’s really that simple sso, I mean these are kids they don’t need a global chat.

As a German growing up with star stable. I can only confirm what has been shown. I remember always seeing people writing about "breeding role plays" and the clubs were surely very sexual as well. Me and one friend even had an experience being groomed from one of our clubmates who also often referenced sexual content, tried to show us porn, once asked us (12-14 yo) what underwear we're wearing or pressured us into sending bra pics. Even tho it was still a great time (really, the community in the club was very nice), my friend also got a lot of trauma from that. And I wasn't even that stupid. But you can't underestimate the peer pressure that's also happening there. Sometimes I still go on star stable and it's still the same, if not even worse. Keep an eye out for your kids, this is very dangerous also considering that I wanted to meet that person (groomer) in real life and never told my parents about the weird shit they said.

The terms and conditions is more like a checklist at this point.

Everything got much worse in about 2020. And then by winter 2022 it was completely out of control. The chat system takes forever to learn and so exploits will work for weeks like saying grass over and over. And much smaller games run so much better. For example Horse Academy. Almost never will you see inappropriate language and if you do that person will be kicked within a few minutes.

back when i played star stable people were asking for "roam" roleplay ALL THE TIME. At first i thought it was like.. adventure roleplay, like roaming and wandering, but i finally got another player to inform me this was in fact ROMANCE Rp and they even admitted its usually 18+ content ( a common advertisement would be "Seeking roam w/breeding" ect ). And again, this was CONSTANTLY asked for in chats. it was the #1 thing i'd see, as a user who very rarely engaged in chat and was usually just passing through and snooping chat as i went. Roam is not inherantly a bad word, but this is a great example why human moderators are needed.. a human will know the cultures and subcultures of their own community and SSO makes more than enough money to hire at least a few moderators that could be "moderator managers" who could then hire volunteers paid by way of some in game function or w/e. The AI despite how it advertises will never be good enough because the humans, even the very young humans sometimes found on this game, will always find ways to get around it It's crazy seeing that sort of thing in chat considering I would get censored almost every message i sent due to apparently saying some thing or another that the censor didn't like. Usually numbers. You aren't allowed to say numbers on SSO lol

I was about to write a comment about how I was impressed that I couldn't find anything wrong inside the South American servers, but as soon as I scrolled a little bit further I just managed to find players mocking the trans community. The most ironic thing about this is that they put in the effort to make a new Fort Pinta Disco that nobody asked for, AND EVEN CHANGED THE DESIGN OF THE CHAT, but not their ridiculous filter. Congratulations, Star Stable!

As someone who has never played SSO, I am shocked that any game with a chat, ESPECAILLY A GAME MADE FOR CHILDREN, doesn't have an in-game reporting system, especially considering how long the game has been around.

I’m an adult player on the Fire Star server (yes, THAT Fire Star 😅) - it’s a daily occurrence that people in chat will say the most disgusting, vulgar things, call others horrible names, joke about being PDFs and “diddling” kids, and share extremely homophobic and religious views. And that doesn’t even go into the sheer amount of drama between players! Yet we can’t even say other players names or coordinates (or even placings for player-run shows) half the time. The mobile game doesn’t even have an in-game report button like desktop now does, and on mobile you can’t even ignore a player saying the most vile things unless they’re right in front of you (because you can’t click on player names to add a friend, report, or ignore in chat of course!) But at least in this update they’ve redone the chat box so it looks nicer and added an incredibly vague list of rules that no one will pay attention to so it’s ok 🤷‍♀️ I’ve had a bloody guts full of the SSO team lately - after the Equestrian Festival update in April, the special gait on ALL my gaited horses doesn’t work. I’ve sent tens of emails about this to the team (literally since the first week of April!) and all I’ve gotten in response are automated messages asking me if I’ve tried “restarting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, or checking for updates in the App Store”. STILL nothing has been done and it’s been 2 months now. Not to mention the absolute sh$tshow when they broke global chat to be almost totally unusable right before Camp Western started, then didn’t even bother to fix it until 2 weeks later when CW started. But hey, we’ve got an updated Fort Pinta disco and new dance moves so all is well in the world 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Even as a person who’s not in the horse or the horse game community I still love videos. I admire the dedication to provide better content and safety for a niche community like this.

I had a similar experience except I was their (three of them) target. They were saying absolutely nasty stuff and my parents don’t want me on the game for a few days…

11:36 You can change your email, but they are going to ask your starter horse's name and your birthday date (or... any date you put there, good luck guessing it in that case (I did that mistake, and now I will NEVER be able to change my email :D I even asked them if there are any other options, but nope!)). Sometimes they will ask about your card information too if you paid with it in the past.

The one time I played it was fine... well.. for the first few hours at least. At some point two people started doing some REALLY inappropriate, nsfw type stuff with each other as horses. I was young at the time but understood enough to report them. It freaked me out enough to not play again. I feel bad for all the kids playing now, I had no idea it had gotten worse. I can only imagine the horrors in those chats.

They're gonna get sued when something extremely bad inevitably happens...

Had some people doing the exact same thing a few days ago; threatening to rape me and telling me to kill myself and saying the n word over and over. Reported each and every one of them and still haven't gotten ANYTHING back. Literally not a word. Im gonna continue messaging SSO about it until they're banned. I clicked on this video because of the names I saw in the cover, and as it turns out, I was right and it was the exact same people from the other day, and despite the fact they said they had just started SSO that day, apparently have been doing this for a while, so Im glad I reported them even though they were supposed "burner" accounts. Absolutely revolting, it disgusted me the shit that they said. Thank you for making this video and showing their names, they deserve to be banned from the game.

the worst thing is that i cant talk in english with my friend, basically were both europe server (german) I gave him an account that is from my location since he lives in america and the worst of this was that we barely could speak in english it was horrible so we called instead

I haven't been since a bit before the big update with new character models and UI and now I'm even more hesitant to log into this dumpster fire.
