SSSS.Gridman & Dynazenon WORTH WATCHING? - Spoiler Free Anime Review 244 

You can tell Bob had strong feelings for this one....it shows in the energy, the presentation and length of the video..really great stuff man..and you should totally keep making videos on things your most passionate about cause that really came out in this and shows you at your best

The SSSS is a nod to the live action 90s TV show Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad and that show used footage from a live action Japanese TV show from the 80s with Gridman in the title.

In agreement both shows could have done with more episodes, thanks to this review I plan to check out those two episodes of the OG gridman

I agree with almost all your points ! Both animes are two pieces of a great puzzle indeed, and it would be really sad to watch only SSSG or SSSD, and I hope that Gridman X Dynazenon will be the combination of all the good points of both series, (with the main characters of both of them meeting or something, or even a brand new team, who knows)

Speaking of studios acknowledging their older fans with original titles.. Have you seen Megalo Box? It's a two 13-episode seasons original boxing anime serving as an homage to the classic Ashita no Joe (it was created at the 50th anniversary of Ashita no Joe). Its 1st season was a breath of fresh air with its gritty retro aesthetic and incredible soundtrack but it was a bit formulaic.. However, the series really grew into its own and found its identity with the 2nd season that aired last season, handling mature themes and developing its characters.

Spoiler: I thought for a split moment that the characters in Dynazenon were the real life versions of the Gridman anime. When she says “got you..!” At the graveyard, I was like… maybe? It would explain their similar personalities. Her depression, etc. but there’s a lot more baggage to The girl in Gridman for that to be the case. But it’s a fun thought.

...why would you classify Anosillus II as an antagonist?

I don't like that the monsters are mostly CG in the fights. However I will concede that it does help it look like it is a man in a suit, something being hand-drawn wouldn't do as well.

I am currently taking a short break while watching SSSS.Gridman until I watched this you tube reviews. 😊

The recent Gridman Universe was a ton of fan service and paid off the preceding two series. Loved it.

I have a feeling that the lapses in both series will be completed in Gridman x Dynazenon

After watching the whole SSSS.Gridman I can say it's beautiful and twist that all it's made by God is extremely well executed, by having 6 episodes of build up. It's not something easy to pull off, most anime studios would be scared of the risk of such a confusing plot, Trigger did what they are best at. Tho, I still think the first 6 episodes are the weakest part of the series and what it made it not as good as it could have been. The first half needed a lot more foreshadowing to work as an introduction to the Gridman world, as 90% of the people that watch SSSS have no idea of the old TV show that the anime is based of. (the tip to watch the first episode of the old TV series helped a lot on understanding the confusing ending of SSSS.Gridman which comes out of nowhere, I can't blame people for thinking it was just a dream)

I grew up watching the Americanized versions of tokusatsu. Power rangers, VR troopers, superhuman samurai syber Squad, etc. Later in life I started watching The originals. Super Sentai, metal heroes, and gridman. I've been cautiously optimistic about ssss gridman. But I'm definitely going to check it out now.

This series touched me so deep in my heart. Will definitely watch the original SSSS

Basically Gridman is a Ultraman copy with power ups. Plus a lot of the English voice actors are the voices in My Hero Academia

Dynazenon is one of my top 5 anime of all time, so I was pretty disappointed by this review. Seems like you managed to miss a lot about the show, including the entirety of Yomogi's character. And the special power that is used in the final episode is pretty well set up between things that were said near the start of the anime and most of episode 8. And Chise and Koyomi's backstories are pretty easy to figure out if you're paying attention. Dynazenon lives on its character drama as much as it does its action, and it has mastered both.

I have yet to finish Dynazenon but I enjoyed Gridman. I noticed there are a lot of mecha shows coming this fall.

I once saw a blu ray colleccion for this series online on a very high price. And i replied to the price in my mind with. "Its because of takarada's thickness isn't it?

I kinda wish you had gone into more detail on the sex appeal bit since that character is all everyone talks about regarding this anime...and for good reasons shes smoking XD

Seen all of gridman and a few episodes of dynazenon. Don’t rate either than high. The character interaction/mystery is appealing, but the mech fights were a bit cringe in my opinion.

Man these shows sound confusing lol. I know you tried your best to explain but I am lost in some ways. Not sure if they appeal to me, Tokusatsu is an aesthetic I am not super big on as of now and Studio Trigger anime have this weird flamboyant style that I personally find obnoxious. Studio Trigger anime tend to be anime at their most anime which I am not sure I even like. I still never watched Gurren Lagaan and Kill La Kill to this day.

It really is ironic - Gridman : Dull Characters, Good Mystery and Passable Antagonists Dynazenon : Better Characters, No Mystery and Super Lame Antagonists Seriously, they go around announcing themselves but are powerless without controlling Kaiju. Killing them at the start which is the logical thing that the rowdy dude should have done would have saved the destruction and a lot of my time. LOL I would recommend Godzilla SP. Despite the sciency stuff that went over my head, I enjoyed it more for the colourful characters, acknowledgment to the loss of loss life and property that occurs, and emphasis on finding a solution through more covert means.
