Anne's Reel was first recorded by Joseph Allard in 1929 in Montreal. It is supposed to be named for the Bay of St. Anne in New Brunswick.
My "house band" is an app called Strum Machine. Connected to a bluetooth speaker it sounds pretty good. The "band" consists of guitar, bass and mandolin and they're ready to jam morning, noon or night.
The mandolin I borrowed from my very generous neighbor is a Loar (LM- 520 - VS).
Any senior musicians who want to get together to practice some this kind of music leave me a note. Thanks!!

Nice job! As a beginning mandolin player, my goal is to be able to play fiddle tunes. St. Anne’s Reel is first on my list…

Hey David, thank you! I encourage you to practice, practice, and practice every chance you get. I found over the past year that using a metronome helps me learn a new tune. Also, the app I mentioned, Strum machine, is really fun to practice with. Good luck!!

Yup! This is right where I am with learning the mandolin. There are other backing tracks, but I have to say strum machine is a great value!

I like Strum Machine because it allows me to set the tempo.
