Sierra + Billy rehearsing an old favorite backstage from a live Doc Watson and Bill Monroe recording prior to Sierra's show at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Video: Kaitlyn Raitz
The precision, speed, and ease at which they play and harmonize together, especially considering this is a one-off of sorts, is nothing short of remarkable. Experiencing this live would be nothing short of magical and revelatory. Just wow.
These two are perfectly matched for a duo album, in stereo of course with pristine recording techniques to highlight their virtuosity and vocal harmonies. Do it!
What a special gift we've been given to see new talent such as Billy Strings, Sierra Hull, Colter Wall, Molly Tuttle, and more in these recent years. A new era of classic country and bluegrass has begun.
The brilliance of Sierra is matched with the brilliance of Billy. Magnificent and wonderful stuff. Bravo, both of you. (Great song too) Blessings to you both,❤,❤.
We Fans are watching two fabulous players become Bluegrass legends and they are paying tribute to Bluegrass, but still doing it their way and bringing a whole new young generation to this old music while making it fresh and new ... thank you Sierra and Billy and an honorable mention to Molly Tuttle who I just saw live last month !!
@@marybaker8061 I have seen Molly Tuttle Twice in Grass Valley Father's Day Bluegrass Festival and am absolutely in love with her. This year at the end of her set she brought her Dad Jack Tuttle up and the sang Grass Valley together just the two of them on stage. I cried 😊
Mandolin and acoustic guitar have such a perfect blend … so nice to hear just those two instruments together, the players skill , experience, taste and choice of instruments makes this another level .
These two are the best. And that's why RU-vidMusic slaps Spotify every which way. These one-off intimate live performances are always my most treasured downloads.
So glad that these musical traditions are being nurtured by young musicians. They bring their own interpretation, while honouring the source material, which inspires the generation to come. A lot of things seem to be crap, but music seems to be doing ok, so hurrah for that!
❤❤ I appreciate Sierra and her husband's harmony. I saw them in Bristol together. This is absolutely beautiful, too. Billy is also incredibly talented. I grew up listening to bluegrass and only an hour from Ralph Stanley's home place, where they still host music fest annually. Super grateful for the tradition continuing. ❤❤
Yes these musicians are beyond human. And I see so many young people who are exhibiting similar skills cropping up world wide that I am led to believe they were sent to appease the tension that results when the worlds leaders can’t resolve their differences. They might come to terms quickly if they would inundate themselves with some good folk music 🪕🪗🎻🎷😎Blessings to all of those afflicted by war and also to our Russian brothers who have risked everything to speak out against this war ✌️🤝
@@josephestes9959 It very sad, that our country has lost its mind and started this massacre, the largest in Europe, after ww2 ... It is also sad to see, how normal and good people, my compatriots, are zombified by daily propaganda(((
thanks for sharing this. This is perfection! How about more collaboration? Just guitar, mando and vocals... Could listen to you two play forever. Made my day!
Two of the best bluegrass pickers now days. And the vocals. I would love to see them in concert in Northern Ontario Canada. I love love love Sierra And Billy
That is just too good!!! Look -- just sit down on a couch, play a bunch of old favorites, and keep the tape rolling. Then get some nice clothes to wear for the Grammys. And, excuse me, but if there was a single missed note in that rendition, I sure as hell didn't hear it!
Tony Rice's guitar which Pam brought for Billy to play that night at the Doc Watson 100th Birthday celebration. First time it had been played since Tony's passing.
