I think bigger companies like St. Croix investing in kayak anglers is never a bad thing. If the blank is similar to their Mojo Bass, there's going to be A LOT of happy fishermen out there.
Absolutely - there will be so many things to come out for Kayak Anglers over the next few years. I think St Croix is smart for innovating here... I am not a fan of their Mojo Bass actually, I would personally hope this blank is a bit lighter and more sensitive. Lots of anglers fish it though so you are right!
Well as always, you know I am available if you need any help :) and thanks for the mustache compliment lol I don't know how long it will be here so I will enjoy it while it lasts.
Thanks Travis, that means a lot! I fish out of a FeelFree Lure - I have a playlist of all of my kayak fishing videos here if you want to check those out: ru-vid.com/group/PLYoBbwPfrs5YEsZKxKFO9ZopxeMZsOX1u
to make a True kayak rod, make em float, anything else is just fishing for business by making a "kayak" rod. Love St. Croix, but this is a newb special.
That is fair - I definitely think a floating option will be a great choice for kayak anglers... I am sure somebody has been trying to develop it but I imagine that it would throw off the comfort/balance of a rod. I am sure it will happen someday soon :)
Online Outdoorsman a friend gifted me a fly fishing rod and I kind of would like to try it. But I dont know a thing about where or when I should be using it. Have you made a tutorial on that type of fishing?
Not sure I am qualified haha but I do have some fly fishing for bass/bluegill videos. I will keep that in mind for future reference for sure though! Here is one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AJ-2bmNzp5k.html
Chikara Hibino , Jackson Kayak actually makes a yak specifically for fly fishing. It's called the Mayfly. Open front cockpit. So your line doesn't get caught on various things.
Yankee, I have about had it with you! And yeah, I am not going to form a true opinion until I pick one up. They basically tried to cater small features to those of us fishing in a kayak. Is it a game changer? Nahhh, but the nice thing is that bigger companies are innovating for us and I think it is a good first step.
