On April 3rd 20109 during the game against Chicago, my mom passed away.... she was a lifelong Blues fan, Mom and dad took me to games during early 70's many times. I wish she could have seen this! Thank you for putting this together!!!!
Sorry for the loss of such a important person in your life. I'm sure you brought her much love and happiness. I hope this long awaited Stanley Cup victory helps you remember your beloved mum in a healing way.
As a Preds fan, I just wanted to say how jealous I am of you Blues fans. But to be honest, this has been a long time coming for you guys. I remember all those years you guys should have and could have beaten the Hawks, Kings and Sharks but just couldn’t get over the hump. It’s like it was inevitable that you guys would somehow blow it. You guys also showed some of those traits early in the season. Can’t believe I said that in January you guys would blow up the team, fire Armstrong and just tank the season. Well look at you guys now. You’re the Cup Champs. I can only hope my Preds will be able to hoist that trophy one day. Anyways, congrats Blues and Blues fans! You guys deserve it. Just don’t hold it against my Preds that you guys have a cup and we don’t. Don’t forget how annoying Hawks fans were a couple years ago. And thanks for beating Boston. Wouldn’t have been able to take another arrogant Bostonian talking about how their city is the City of Champions.
@@Danny9 My brother is a Sens fan. We were one goal away from having absolute chaos in my house a couple years ago. And we live 2 hours away from Ottawa in Montreal so we probably would have went to at least one SCF game. Wish we could have met you guys in the Cup Final a couple years ago
i would have lost my mind if we won game 7 and i definitely would have gone to the SCF because i do live in Ottawa but instead i live with constant heartbreak knowing how far we’ve fallen
@@Danny9 It is very sad to see how drastic things have changed in the last 24 months, but things can always change. It'll be rough for a while, but I think you guys will be back soon enough
You're so right about the Hawks fans. I went to a Blues/Chicago game the year after they won the cup and they were the most obnoxious, ill-behaved brats (even though the Blues killed them that night).
I can say this though, even as a blues fan. In retrospect game 5 for the sharks was a sad moment. That was not only the beginning of the fall, but the closing of their window. That team was similar to the blues in the sense that they have come so close so many times. Now that team is in shambles and essentially has to start all over. Obviously I’m glad for the outcome, but you feel for the team and the fan base because we know how it feels here in St. Louis.
Martin Jones looked like he didn't give a shit that series. He was letting in so many routine saves. Either way the blues weren't going to be beat last year. They had exactly what a playoff needs. They won battles and just wore teams down, along with a potent top 6 and tending.
Quoted around league "Blues are too big, too slow...can't move up the ice at all." Psshhhh, what was that? Thank you Blues for finally bringing home the Cup! I could care less about dynasties, next, lets go Florida, Ottawa, Toronto, etc (but u gotta earn it, no freebies).
3 Thoughts 1: Pat Maroon's goal to get them to the WCF is amazing! I've got goosebumps 2: The Blues' D-Men are classic tall guys who can skate. 3: DO THEY HAVE TO SHOW FRIGGIN CHARA AFTER EVERY BLUES GOAL! MY GOODNESS! IT IS ALMOST LIKE THEY HAVE A CAMERA ALREADY TRAINED ON HIM CAUSE THEY GOT A THING FOR TALL DUDES.
I was there for pat maroons goal in game 7 vs Dallas and I almost left because it was sooo late and school was next morning, the place went absolutely nuts after that double overtime started and when he scored that goal it was just crazy, something every fan will never forget.
been watchin hockey a long time..and i gotta say, the bortuzzo/sundquist back to back backhand goals in game 2 against the sharks, both set up by lovely passing plays, are two of my favorite goals in recent memory, as far as skill and player interplay goes
Bortuzzo's was a classic give and go. He isn't that bad of a hockey player. Extremely underrated. He's called a cheapshot artist and dirty a lot of the time but not one time was he acting unjustly.
They were beauties for sure. One of the first thoughts I had (after completely losing it) when Pietro scored that sweet backhander in game 7 was "He stole Bortz's move!" Lol
Their season was amazing. from last place to champion. But we all have to thank the Blues for making Marchand cry in the national television. Also that second OT goal should erase the Yzerman goal haunting the fans
true being eliminated by the Wings in a game 7 2OT is crushing and being in last place but i love the fact that they came back and won it all and also i couldn’t help but smile when looking at Marchand
I was at the game Dec 18th when the Blues got blown up by the Flames and I thought if they come back from this it will be amazing! Well, IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!
He scores which is great. But he does so much more than that for the blues. Hit, defense leadership. He’s went from a pure goal scorer to becoming a full on hockey player. And when taransenko goes this team goes.
Brandon O'Dell I don’t know about you, but I think putting music over a compilation of highlights ruins a whole video. Music over highlights and clips of different angles and having the music sync up with the action happening in the clips is good though.
Great video. I have to say the Blues have nice uniforms. The whites in particular. A great logo as well. This coming from a Canadiens fan. Glad to see St. Louis finally win a Cup.
As a neutral fan this has to be my favorite underdog cup run in recent memory. And as a Rangers fan I just love watching Tarasenko kill it the way he did. Really hoping we keep him
So nice to see the Blues finally find that killer instinct they were always lacking when they made deep runs in the playoffs. This year they would respond to every opposition goal, and how many game winners did they come up with in the last 2-3 min of regulation? Quite a few. Also, Binnington and the Chief really changed the complexion and confidence level of the team. They also played a heavy game mixed with a speed/rush game but they were much more physical and grinding than any Cup champ in a long time, even WSH. Cool to see a physical brand of hockey still thriving in today’s NHL. Really fantastic run and won’t soon forget it!!
NBC Sports' Kenny Albert became the de facto voice for most of St. Louis' playoff run. Between NBCSN, NBC-TV, and Westwood One Radio, Kenny called the last 19 Blues playoff games.
I will always remember Gunnarsson scoreing that overtime goal because I had a felling it was boom boom time and right when the puck was past to him I said,” come on boom boom”!!
Thank you for posting this-i've watched it close to 50 times now and it just gets better--saw my first Blues game in 1968 as a 9 yr old kid--they finally when the Cup when i'm a 60 yr old man--like all Blues fans,i will savor this Cup win the rest of my days--so proud of the Blues organization for this great feat accomplished
Awesome video! Honestly, I was never a Blues "fan." Never disliked them, just didn't care that much. But there is something about this cup run that feels special. I can't stop watching all of these videos. This one is awesome!
Lemme tell you how much you deserve like a million subs and a ton of views. These videos are amazing from goals from every round of the playoffs to our Blues’ goals. Amazing work keep it up!!!
Thank you STL Blues! I've been a Blues fan since the day I was born in 2001 and its been a great journey cheering and supporting you guys since the day you started playing in the NHL. We all darn deserve this stanley cup win! Thank you STL Blues!
It's crazy. I've been around for 2 Cards WS titles. I watched David Freese win game 6 and then them go on to win the WS. But, I have never relived that moment or those playoffs more times than I have watched my Blues win the Stanley Cup. It get chills every time. What a team.
Literally the most beautiful video, lol! Still can’t believe we did it! I even got to touch the cup when we had the parade, but it still feels like a dream! Thanks for the great video!
If you are having a bad day. Just turn this on and within minutes you will feel so happy reliving it all over again. This will literally turn that frown upside down. LETS GO BLUES!!!!!!!
What makes this season so incredible and sweet for us is that everyone counted us out. Even after we crawled from the depths, beat Winnipeg, Dallas, and even San Jose. I felt like a deed was done when we beat Boston in the Garden for Game 7. Not necessarily to the team but the Boston fans who laughed at the thought of us beating a seaboard sports juggernaut. All the people who laughed at us. I was finally able to smile as a debt had been repaid when from when Boston beat us in 1970 to clinch in OUR own arena. I don’t care if we miss the playoffs for the next 20 years. This one moment I will be able to keep as a reminder that we were able to do it after everyone counted us out.
TotalxTroll25k I was at Dallas game 7 and it was only $400 for 2 tickets at like 315 i think, row c too so not too bad of seats tbh and the price for a game 7 is reasonable, and plus that double ot winner from maroon was worth every penny...
Great video. Loved reliving some of those moments. Observations: Tarasenko is a Grade A sniper. Lots of scoring support from almost everyone. Some really great passing when it counted. Way to go, Blues! Stanley Cup Champions!!!!
Tarasenko's goal when it was 1on 4 at 12:10. Shades of his 1 on 5 goal against the Rangers a few years ago! So many of Vlad's goals were Sniper shots, making something out of nothing.
Gotta say Scheens Goal game 7 against Boston was a thing of beauty. Only had a fraction of a second to react, and he still accurate enough to throw it post and in. Just a little to the left or right and that was no goal. Need to see more from him next season, LETS GO BLUES
I have been a blues fan for about a year now and I couldn’t believe it. Me and my family were watching game 7 of the cup final and when they won we were speechless. AND I STILL DONT KNOW WHY THEY LET THE HAND PASS FROM THE SHARKS COUNT!
@Mike lmao you couldn’t think of a better one so you asked me why it’s the greatest? Let’s see, from last place in January to making play offs, winning a series after that. Never been done. Going all the way to the end with a rookie tender and fresh coach. And beating the Boston Bruins for it all. The team that swept you 50 years earlier. It’s one of if not the best ever pathways to a Stanley Cup. Name me one team that has topped that
My 5 fav goals: 1. Pietrangelo scoring late in the first period in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals to give the Blues a 2-0 lead. 2. Pat Maroon's Double OT goal in game 7 against Dallas in Round 2. 3. Tie - ROR and Peron scoring in game 5, on the road, in the Cup Finals to put the Blues up 3-2 in the series. 4. Jaden Schwartz's Hat Trick in game 5 against the Sharks to put Blues up 3-2. The Sharks were so beat-up by the end of that game and Series. I knew we were going back to Finals for the first time in 49 years. 5. Gunnarsson's game 2 OT winner in Boston - marking the first time the Blues had ever won a Stanley Cup Finals game! Honorable Mention: Braden Schenn scoring in game 7, on the road, in the Stanley Cup Finals to put the Blues up 3-0 in the 3rd period. I knew Binnington was playing way too well to give up 4 goals!
I live in st. louis and only went to a few games as a kid because the blues werent that good though I would go to many cardinals games since they were insanse back then. Happy to see the blues win 1. LGB
This compilation really highlights why I love Dom Emrick's play by play, and really don't care for Kenny Albert's. And yes, it is January 2020 and I am STILL watching Blues Stanley Cup championship highlights almost a year ago! :-D
