Binnington was a god during this playoffs series. Refused to lose and knew what to do with so little experience in that kind of atmosphere. What a true goalie is supposed to be.
I'm right there with you, man! I just got done watching a Ron Wilson clip and figured I'd go all in! I love this game! We're gonna upset some teams this year. It's not going to be like the last few years. Guaranteed.
Best season ever. Hockey isn't a popular sport in WV, but my dad got me into it about 10 years before this particular season and his favorite team was the Blues..so naturally it also became my team. He told me that they'd never won the Cup and he wanted to see it happen in his lifetime. 😂 Not only did they win, but they also provided such an amazing story and a lesson in coming together and not giving up. I always enjoy watching the underdog come out on top, and that year, it just happened to be our team and that made it even better! Anyway, amazing video!!
Visiting this video after Chief got let go last night. What an unbelievable season in 2019. We’ll miss you coach. Thanks so much for helping us get our cup.
It is indescribable how happy I am to have experienced this with my brother before he passed in December 2021! I wish he were here to see Pujols in a Cards uniform for the final time and to reach 700! R.I.P. Jack 12/20/21 💙
If only my Canucks can win someday soon🥺😢🥲 I was rooting for the Blues cuz I hate Boston... Congrats to you and your team, please hope that Vancouver wins cuz we're in the same boat that you guys were in, never winning anything 😥
Given how horrible we played in 2018 I don't think hardly anyone saw this coming. That's what makes this so incredibly sweet. What a special run and Cup win. Wow. I will never forget this very special time. I am so damn proud of my Blues and I have been with them with their inception. Many many years of disappointments. So F-ing awesome now!
There was alot of things in the playoffs we never saw coming (besides Toronto and their famous series comeback/game 7 choke) All the top teams lost round 1 and all the wildcards made it past round 1. Boston was gifted the Eastern Conference Trophy (poor CBJ and Carolina didn't stand a chance :/)
Forget 2018, look to the first half of 2019. We shouldn’t have won. It was literally impossible for us to go from almost dead last to Stanley cup champs. And we still did lol
Blues should’ve gone back to back wins but loses to the team that when they win a cup they will have the new record for longest time for a team not to win a Stanley cup “cough cough” Vancouver canucks
Everyone complains how their team never wins the cup or can't make it to the playoffs. The thing is. Being from Toronto. We always complain. But then again... You can't be disappointed. There are 32 teams. Only one will make it. So 31 teams along its fans will be disappointed.
The Blues finally went the distance in a season where it was least expected. It was incredible. The highlight of a life for Blues fans. Great video recap.
It was quite expected in the offseason. They just started slow. When they made the oreilly trade they were slready a good team lol thats why they didnt need a deadline trade
My grandpa was a Blues season ticket holder for the first 10 years or so the team was around. My mom tells me stories about laying flat on her stomach while watching the games from underneath the announcers booth at the old Arena. This was the best championship of any sports team for me, but I can't imagine the joy for those who were there from the beginning and had been through all those promising teams with disappointing endings. Unfortunately, my grandpa died before this happened, so he missed this experience. I partied twice as hard for him that night.
I watch this at least 3 times a year since the big win. What a time to be alive. My dad and grandpa waited a hell of a lot longer than me for this but them winning the year I turned 21 was so amazing. I got to celebrate with friends and family and then go to the parade.. Ugh.. I hope it happens again, St. Louis knows how to party.
I remember watching that 7-2 whoopin the Bruins laid down on the Blues in game 3 thinking how does a team come back from that?? For these Blues, it was no problem as they faced adversity all year and overcame it. And it all started with one game. They took it one at a time after the new year when they were almost dead last in the west. This group of players was special. Watching them that whole playoffs, you could tell they were different. A perfect mix of experience, leadership, youth, speed, skill, size, strength, and a goaltender with a chip on his shoulder. They all complimented each other perfectly. As a hockey fan for over 30 years, I've watched a lot of teams, but these guys really stood out. They wanted the cup bad and no one was going to deny them.
This team is the one that got m me into Hockey. I have NEVER been more invested in a Hockey team than this 18-19 Blues even though I've never really been a hockey fan
This was the year playoffs that got me truly hooked on hockey, haven’t looked back, first started watching in like 2016 but never deep into it. This playoffs changed everything
I remember distinctly and vividly talking about the Blues underperforming late October/early November. Before Yeo was fired. Everyone was complaining about it and I said something like the Blues have come out strong so many times in the past few years only to fall apart in the playoffs. Maybe this is the year they'll stumble early and come back at just the right time. I really loved living in St. Louis this summer. It was the summer I got married. So many good memories. I had the DJ at my wedding reception play Gloria at the end of the night, and found out my best man was going to try to do the same. One of the best moments of my life, thanks to these Blues. One is worth a lifetime of great memories.
@@frederickglass1583 it's so funny too. Because at the beginning of the 2018-19 season I told a lot of my hockey peers "if we ever had a chance to win a cup, it's this year" because they were great on paper. Everything you needed (leadership, heart, grit, offense, defense, goaltending, and youthful energy). But what I wasn't expecting was how big of a rollercoaster ride it would be to winning it. Had no hope January, no expectations going into the playoffs... And I always said once they returned to the finals, there was no way they let it slip this go around. But they did it!
I mean they're divisional rivals, I'm a fan of the Avs, but there is no team in the Central I respect more than them. Incredible accomplishment last season.
The emotional journey of that season especially every second of the playoffs.......will never be matched. Words don’t describe it. I’m a different person.
As a sharks fan congrats blues. U guys had the BEST regular season comeback to make the postseason. Lots of respect to y’all now let’s hope we can get one lol
I’m a bruins fan and I was at game 7. As happy as I would’ve been to see the bruins win, it was still heartwarming to see the blues win after all those years, they deserved it for sure.
I'm a Leafs/Montreal fan. Lived in places of many teams. But the blues have a spot for me! Their players. Dedication, the gorgeous blue jerseys (lol). I became a fan myself. I was sitting at the edge of my seat on game 7. Absolute madness!
One guy told me a long time ago “that team (Blues) will never win the cup. The funny thing was this guy was a rangers fan, when I pointed that out he said “but we were always competitive,” I said “you are aware the blues have the record for playoffs made in a row at like 26?” He wasn’t aware, but when the Blues finally won I was so happy, I called him and he remembered what he had said all those years prior and he was happy to see them finally win it as well. Congrats to the Blues - an Isles fan
I've just become a Blues fan! NUFC fan in Newcastle, England. Huge parallels between fortunes; hoping ours is going to change forever within the next few days #cans
Coming from a penguins fan, i´m happy for the blues even when it happened two years ago, definately deservable. P.D: Nice touch of the music if someone don´t like it then simply don´t watch it or make your own version ;)
WHAT A FUCKING RUN!! An absolutely incredible season for the blues!! Glad I got to see all 7 games and watch them win it all it was fucking thrilling man! And to come back this year still skating circles around most teams kicking ass lol 💙💙
Having your head coach be one of the top enforcers in the history of the previous Stanley Cup champions seems to work. And I'm a Blackhawks fan, which is awkward.
I have many comments but two big ones were that no matter how bad the refs were the blues still won like the bs hand pass goal from the sharks the blues beat em in 6 and the stars goal off the refs skate and I told my dad in January that no possible way the blues were gonna make the playoffs but yet there they were.
@@jackscott510 both runs had its own point. For 2018 it's Ovechkin and Pittsburgh curse For 2019 it's Cinderella story and comeback from being 31st in standings
@@johnwesleyhuss2327 if you think that a football team coming from behind and winning in a single game is a more epic comeback than going from last place to winning the Stanley Cup... then you're too remedial for the discussion in the first place.
