I was introduced to the St. Paul in 3rd grade by my best friend (back when 3rd graders were allowed to leave the schoolyard for lunch🤷🏾♀️😂) and been munching on them since!! So good!!!💕
moved to Philly years ago and they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for red pepper. The egg foo young gravy is nasty here also. I had to learn how to make my own.
Our China Town might not look fancy like Chicago's, you might even drive through it without realizing you drive through it (Olive Blvd between I-170 and Hanley Rd). But every Asian restaurant on that street is legit.
I researched the sandwich and the Chinese were making St Paul's during the 1800's on the rail road chuck wagons. I grew up on the Legendary Chong Wah St Paul's in the U on Olive back in the 80's
Fire, I know it may not be the healthiest way to eat it but I like mine with the fake American cheese slice. Also, as a STL resident if u come to my city I recommend either John's on West Florissant or Bing Lau on Grand for fried rice & St Paul sandwiches🤷🏾♂️
I remember all the City and County Chinamen spots, Grand, Grand and Natural Bridge, Olive in the U, Cass and Washington by Vashon, and Park Chop Suey on Chouteau.
Anybody from the Lou. St Louis we say Chinamen!! we don't say Chinese restaurant we say Chinamen with no disrespect that's just how we say it. Oh yeah the Rice house on N Lindbergh in Florissant home of the SUPER St Paul and cheesecake wonton's
@@robertwalker7979 Hey Rob I know it can be considered racist I'm a minority of African desent I get it an apologize to any Asian out there. I was just rimmunesing my child hood living in the hood in the 80s in St Louis and that was the child hood term we used just kids that didnt know any better No disrespect to any Asians period.
I grew up in Minneapolis and my mom would make egg foo yung for dinner and any leftovers would be a St. Paul sandwich the next day. Funny thing was it didn’t have a name at the time. It was just an egg foo yung sandwich. You don't need all that oil!😮
Im from east st louis and grew up eating st paul sandwiches. I have lived in twin cities for almost 30 years now and still no one here has heard of it nor do they sell it in minnesota. You wont find it on any menu here.
Two white men on video tell you that it’s not from here and everybody’s supposed to believe it BS…And I’m sorry to hear that you are from East St. Louis.😢 glad you got out😂
I live in St. Louis and grew up less than a mile from this Chinese express. One day witnessed a lady using a garden hose and the curb to wash vegetables outside this restaurant. I never ate there again.
