Tried to think of something different to make with some shrimp & I remembered the St Paul. I grew up in E.S.L and the place to go was Brooklyn to get the best St Paul. It's one of those things you can't get anywhere else. It's been almost 40yrs since I moved away, and it's a flavor memory that you can't forget. Heading to the store for sprouts & green onions right now. Thanks!
Yes!!! Born and raised in STL. Bing Lau, Suns, Johns and many many more. Get you some Combination fried rice with this and a Vess soda ( another STL staple) And get you a egg roll and greedy get ya crab Rangoon!! Yes it’s all about $15. !!! You will be full but it’s all so hearty!!
Wow….. Brandon I’ve never heard of that sandwich 🥪 before I love it because I am an EGG 🍳🥚⏲ FOO YOUNG lover 😋😋 I love how you educated those like me who’ve never heard of or tried one. Now I can educate others here in Maryland who’ve never tasted one of these delicious 😋 sammys Lol 😂 HERE’s WHAT GOOGLE SAID ABOUT IT: Paul in the 1940s to please Midwestern palates. He put an egg foo young patty (egg, bean sprouts, onion, flour) between a couple of pieces of white bread slathered with mayo, topped it with lettuce, tomato and pickles and named it after his hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota. 👍🏾
Man all I know is they have been a st louis thing for as long as I can remember and I have never seen them anywhere I have gone. Oh now they are da bomb lol
I used to work Emergency Room Security on the night shift at St. Mary's Hospital in East St. Louis, IL. There wasn't a lot of choices for lunch but the best was the Shrimp St. Paul from the Golden Dragon back in 80 to 82.
Now you know we 😍 St Pauls in the Lou...this, however, was the first time I’ve seen it prepared at home. Was hard to hear your voice over the music...but as always we from the Show Me so enough said 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Thanks for the tutorial 🫡
@@CookingWithNeighbors it’s funny because my family grew up ordering shrimp fried rice and shrimp egg foo yung at Chinese every time lol sorry for butting in

Thank you for this tutorial. I live in Nashville,TN But, I'm originally from East St. Louis,Illinois. It's been years since I've had a St.Paul. (Most people don't even know what it is) You've earned a new subscriber my friend.
Looks good! I am making a special St. Paul with special fried rice today. I like mayo, lettuce, pickle and onion on mine and I can hardly wait! I am a native St. Louisan....
Great job, thanks for sharing 🎉👏🏽. I make them really well. I'll try it your way with more oil and the ladle. I'm making this for lunch with some shrimp fried rice 😊
That's a great looking sandwich Brandon! And as soon as you that egg misture in the oil I was thinking, that's just like and Egg Foo Young and you said it! I have not had this before but it does look delicious!
Man you got me missing The Lou! Have you ever been to Sun’s in Florissant/Hazelwood? People have to understand that St Louis Chinese food is different than any other city. You know what I mean. Got that extra kick to it. Keep em coming Brandon!
I have not tried Sun's but have tried it from East Saint Louis, the king's highway and natural bridge. And you're right Saint Louis rice is just completely different than anywhere else. It's hard for me to eat it anywhere else.
This looks absolutely delicious! I have never had a St. Paul and I've never fried an egg this way. I bet my husband would love this and I love bean sprouts and onion
Wow, I have never heard about this sandwich before but I have eaten egg foo young. I am sure this tasted really delicious as well! Thankyou so much brother Brandon for sharing with us❤🙏🏻🙏🏻
Wow!!! I have never heard of this sandwich. But this sounds so yummy!!! I am so going to try this. I am not a fan of bean of sprouts but I totally would use all the other ingredients. Especially the shrimp. Thank so much for sharing.
Hey Brandon this is the first time seeing a St. Paul Sandwich 🥪. Have to say it looks amazingly delicious. Thanks for sharing and take care my brother. God Bless 🙏🏽👆
I’ve been wanting to try a St. Paul for twenty years. Suddenly, everybody’s talking about them. Yours looks good, Brandon! I guess I’m going to have to try making one myself! 👍🏻
That's totally bomb man. I've totally never had anything like this but it sure looks like a great sandwich, I'd love to try that to switch things up. Well done brother
