@@mactv8757 Come on down. the past 2 weeks now the Cruse ships are mad coming down here, like 4 5 in one day. A lot of stores are open up, Low Covid-19 drama down here so.
@@leonswan6733 that’s sounds awesome man you got an Instagram or something ? I can throw you a follow might need some local help when I get out their finding things you know
@@mactv8757 Well not a big social media tec dude but i am always of Face book and RU-vid. Leon Swan St Thomas VI for facebook. Send me a friend request.
I was raised and still live in stt and stj. I’m very pleased with the video and I feel like you did well at capturing it’s natural beauty and culture. Being here for so long, you tend to become desensitized to its beauty. I appreciate the frequent reminders that I am truly blessed to live in such a place as the USVI. Thank you and please come again.
Lets trade spots for a min. You come stay at my apartmrnt here in Washington and I will stay at your place. For like 5 or 8 years. Maybe 20? I dream of the Islands, and I hear the call of the ocean every day I am away. So since 1989 /sadface. Soon! I am moving back soon!
I have been going to St. Thomas since 1966 , have been there 35 times and your tour was one of the best I've seen. Other than a couple of mispronouncing Magens Bay, your tour was very professional and covered a lot of the must see places. Great job...
Believe it, I'm not complaining the exact opposite. You really have the best video of the island. It seems most people are more important to be seen by their audience. Obviously, you are an intelligent being, most humble in your ways.
Owned a timeshare there since 2009, been there other many other times as well, love the Island. Haven’t been on Island since ‘17 but heading back in ‘23. This video really brought back some good memories, thanks 😎
Brewer's Bay used to be my daily swim spot. It's maintained by the University of the US Virgin Islands. But there are plenty other good snorkeling spots. I know I lived on St Thomas for 2 years and St Croix for another year and a half.
I lived on St Thomas for more than 30 years. I love the Mofoli hotel. Dinner at night is spectacular and I would hang out at the pool in the day time and have lunch. Also lived on that side of the island and also spent a lot of time at Brewers Bay. You made a very nice video ❤️ I also lived on St John for awhile. Managed Cafe Roma and worked at Caneel Bay hotel. Coki Point is now over run, but still beautiful. Black Beard's Castle was a pool hang out to. Good lunch. It's crazy to see Main St empty. Used to be so busy, you could hardly walk or drive through it. Really sad to see everything so empty. Covid has really slowed things down. 😔 Next time try to go into French Town. Hook Line and Sinker is a great restaurant. Teddy Lutes is the owner... he and his wife are Super people 🥰
@Georgia Gonzales Wait, Hook Line and Sinker was it the quarter deck years ago? If, yes, my aunt and uncle owned that shop in the 1970's. I basically lived there.....wait we did live there, on a Pearson for a time. Next to Avery's Boat House in FT. My mom and dad met there. Dick gave my dad his first construction loan to build a house for the Miles's. My parents started our family there.
I was born on st.tomes my dad works at one of the beaches there I've been to most of all the beaches I hope you all enjoy since St.tomes it's so much fun
Another cool thing is there are so many things growing wild there that are edible and absolutely delicious... OMG the grafted mangos Yummy !! Oh and of course those big avocados. I could eat one of those fresh avocados everyday for breakfast. Just one will feel me up. Another super interesting plant is the Merique tree. They call it the tree of life. It has every vitamin in the world in it. A few tiny leaves off the tree chew em up suck the juice out then spit them out. No coffee needed for that day.
I used to be coming there several times a year when I lived on a boat. For the most part I stayed at the island of Culebra, but once in a while I would come to St. Thomas.
Did you know Dick Avery? He trolled up to Main and back in a boat I helped him and Morgan build. If you ever made port (1950 ish to 1990 ish) at the S.T.Y.C. you probably knew or met him. He owned Avery's boat yard in French Town.
Inspirational video 🏡 homie.. I have made it to P.R. and Culebra but never as far as the usvi"s but watching your videos I'm already planning on doing so.
WOW...love your videos. Doing a "Island Hopping" cruise in March '22 from PR, and your videos have been very helpful. I have been to the islands before, however, you have captured areas that I have not been to, and will be worth venturing out to and see. Thanks and keep up your fun videos. Tampa
Great video. Im going to St. Thomas in sept. for 4 night 5 days. I only have 2 things im planning on doing one is SNUBA and the other is a half day charter to fish for yellowfin and black tuna. The rest will be laying around the beach and snorkeling. Cant wait for september. Thanks for the info awesome vid.
Lived on STT twice, in 83 and again in 91 Lived at Red Hook and Sapphire Beach condos first, had good memories at the Slip Away Bar, Good Time Charlie's at Scotts Beach, Poor Man's on the beach. Then in 91 moved back & lived at Mohagany Run condos. Huge change in serious crime rate in 91, so moved back to mainland. Enjoyed my time, miss the weather, but just couldn't stay.
YES THANK YOU LOVE THIS VIDEO LOVE YALL.. BEEN COMING LIVING FOR TWENTY YEARS ITS A BEAUTIFUL AMAZING LOVING CARING PLACE PEOPLE ARE VERY HAPPY AND CARING ST THOMAS COKI POINT I LOVE YALL FOREVER!!!!!🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🎊🎊❤️❤️🌲🌲🎊🎉
Anchor off the North end. Much better view! West end nice too. St. John seen at sunrise will make your heart ache for more. Trust me, my heart aches. I wake with the salt air in my lungs, the sun on my face, and the trade winds taking me to freedom.
Recently had dinner at Malforie and it was great...Also highly recommend Oceania for seafood and seaside dining. Also Rancho Latina had great a local Latin Caribbean menu...
Mafolie was the last place my grandmother and I had our regular Sunday brunch in 1988, which was more of an appetizer and a couple drinks each than a brunch.
Been here with my wife for a Anniversary on a Disney cruise loved it so much would love to go back. Was wondering if you knew what it might cost to stay a couple of days to a week
$230 a DAY!!! That's almost a weekly car rental in the U.S.! This is where my maternal grandmother was born and raised, I will own property here one day.
Defiantly. I was in the US Navy for 13 years and I have yet to see a place near as beautiful as USVI(respect). With as a robust history full of treachery, strife, wealth, debauchery, chaos, but most of all peace, non can be found, not one. I can find peace in every grain of sand. As she has no memory, peace reigns upon her. Blood stained or not, my home calls me back.
As a native West Indian, born in Charlotte Amalia and grown just so, I TOTALLY agree!! I was in the US Navy attached to Pacific Command Destroyer Group 5. We weighed anchor in Oahu five times while I was there: Hawaii is lovely, but it does not hold the history, nor the mystery nor the romance of the Caribbean. It's in the wind, Here there be dragons!!
Hi! I’ll be going at the end of april, how was the parking situation once you rented the Jeep? Also would you recommend renting a scooter since it would be significantly cheaper? I’ve read mixed opinions about scooters on St thomas, but I’d like to save money and not worry about parking or safety. I don’t plan on riding around with luggage btw, just my boyfriend and I and what we can carry in our pockets.
Firstly I would like to say great video you captured S.T Thoma's beauty perfectly and I'm glad it was a great exprience....But I was born and rasied on S.T Thomas U.S Virgin Island and one thing I'd like to say is you got some of the names wrong... 5:18 We say "Mountain Top" on the Island not "Top of the Mountain"(Just in case you go and ask a local they'll know what you're talking about😂 Because we will look at you lost if u say "Top of the Mountain?"😂) 6:18 We pronouce it (May-gens-Bay) 𝗻𝗼𝘁 (Me-gan Beach) 8:57 We pronouce it (Lin-quest) 𝗻𝗼𝘁 (Lin-quist) 10:44 omg😭 We pronouce it (Cookie🍪-point- Beach) 𝙉𝙊𝙏 ( Coke🥤-E)😭😭 11:55 Hull Bay✅ 12:49 Botany Bay✅ 19:45 (Contraversal) But We on the Island call it a "TramWay🚊" 𝑭𝒖𝒏 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒕: 20:58-21:14 Is the view of Water Front or how We say it on the Island Wata Front But Overall GREAT video🥳😁💫
That giant beach and bay is Megan's Bay. It costs to go to that beach, it's only a couple of bucks. So when you go there, make sure you have your food locked in your cooler. Because of those sneaky mongoose.😮
Hey would you say booking ahead for the ferry to take your car to st john is necessary? We’d probably take the earliest one in the morning to get there
The U.S. Virgin Islands has reopened to travel with enhanced health and safety protocols in place amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Thomas-is among the most accessible to Americans, who won't need a passport to visit or a negative COVID-19 test result to return home to the mainland U.S. after their trip.
Of all the fishermen that I talked to, they all said Baracudas don't attack people. If you have fish or lobster, they may go after that. I was out swimming in Brewers Bay, and I saw something outta the corner of my eye ... a 4 foot barracuda. I was told by the fisherman that Barracuda is very curious. At the time, I threw my arms out to make myself look bigger (a prey response to scare the attacking animal) Threw my arms out, and it scared him away. TaDa!!
Both American Currency Caribbean!! Absolutely Fabulous Beautiful Place to Live Visitor!! Megan’s Bay!! One of the Top Ten Beaches in the World!! FACTS!!
@@rockcitywifescotland8385 Who told me what? The pronunciations of Magens Bay and Charlotte Amalie? I lived on St. Thomas for ten years (1965-1976). Those are the proper pronunciations.
@@rockcitywifescotland8385 Well, you "called" it wrong then. Not all Thomians, whether speaking calypso or not, know how to correctly pronounce things.
Well this St. Thomian can speak and pronounce very well thank you. I have lived in the States for years and can pronounce and annunciate very well . And please watch how you talk about my people, just because you lived there for a few years don’t mean you know how to say my city well or better than the people that spend there whole life there. This is MY HOME! You have not been there since 1967 come on what do you know.
