She is just...... fucking brilliant. I love her. Being a lover & player of guitar, you can tell when someone has that gut wrenching love for playing. She has that, along with incredible songwriting & singing skills, AND she is beautiful. If only everyone in Hollywood was this talented....
The polyphonic spree are the most happiest and exuberant band EVER. You cant leave seeing them live and not feel the happiest EVER. Thank goodness its christmas,,, out comes their holiday album. Cant wait for 2018,,, new tour, new album. Life is happy with the spree,,, the world sure needs more bands like this these days.
For everyone puzzling/cringing at the "gender inclusive" comment, she said in an interview that it's designed so "if you have a breast, or two" it's still comfortable to have against your chest if you wear it high up
@@HeresaBanana this is such a dramatic interpretation of what happened. she felt she had said enough about her goal for the guitar so she needed the sentence, that’s it.
@@HeresaBanana oh wow. Another right winger who is so upset at things that normal people don’t care about. You were happy to post your snide comment without asking my permission. Do you see how things work now?
Jesus I love her...I've known about her for awhile because of the Nirvana Rock Hall of Fame induction but I finally dug into her music and holy shit there may just be hope that actual creative, passionate, unique, intriguing rock has a chance to live a lot longer!
if you look closely, you can see her lipstick kind of messed up on her bottom lip at the end of the performance but when she goes to sit down the lipstick is perfect hmm weird
This is TV. A TV studio is too small for a live band to be heard clearly and there is no time set aside for a sound check. The bands almost always fake play and the singers often lip sync. Beth Hart also usually doesn't bring a full band for TV publicity even though she has almost always played with a full band (minus some one off acoustic stuff) at her concerts.
It’s best to learn on a big honking monster of a guitar so by the time you get to a featherweight piece, it’s easier to riff. From personal experience I learnt on a heavy piece with ultra-high strings... blisters and callouses, then ultimately get a lightweight solid body epiphone and lowered the action and it’s sooo much easier to riff, but, hopefully, someone will gift me an Annie Clark Music Man. I’m a big smelly man but I would LOVE to get my grubby hands on one of her models.
Exactly, her just being her "weird" self is one of the things that draws me to her (apart from her talent and ingeniousness). The thing is we are all weird, and how we're handling that is what makes us cool :)
So damn sexy & talented but Depp & Dench should show respect. They talked whole through Annie's performance. So rude. Jack Sparrow even blanked her. What's his problem. He's such a plonker.
How many of those Ernie Ball Sigs have they made just for her?! every set she does she seems to be holding a different one. I will put my hand up to recycle one if they ever decide to get rid of any!
I'm here for the Guitar playing. She's great. Not partial to the song, but I think it's a "lets do this and see what happens & then on to the next thing" type of thing. thingy. Thingthingy.
Sorry, but Graham Norton is just a disgusting interviewer here. I mean, she's a music genius and all he can comment on is the cover of the record and the guitar she invented?
EDIT: I stand completely corrected. I watched other interviews and she is absolutely gorgeous! I don't consider myself a superficial guy. Bit I'm so disappointed that she isn't as pretty as the music video....
Still don't get it. If this album is satire it still seems like too little too late appease to mainstream with all these butts on cover and sexualized images of self. I think St.Vincent went into wrong direction, musically (it's rather dull) and image-wise (majority wouldn't get satire, they'd get that chick is super hot and butt is fine).
If I didn't know her a bit from interviews, I wouldn't have known it was satire. Just taking a look at her Instagram's latest posts... I still have my doubts. Even if it is, I feel like she sold herself out terribly. There's a 180º turn in terms of composition, production, lyrics, everything. Maybe she likes playing the actress? Living her concepts and ideas at flesh level. Anyways, her new music sounds kind of pathetic, machine generated, but well, artists live in a constant state of metamorphosis. Too bad it can include musical changes like this.
Just take the music for what it is. I don't think she's trying to appease the mainstream one bit. I'm a long-time fan and I trust any direction she chooses. Satire is just a tiny part; sexiness is another. There's nothing wrong with it, she can do sexy and just about anything else as long as she's putting in the work.
Yeah but when you listen to the over the top sound and style you get into the satierical beauty of this album. The poi t of the album is to look like a trashy sexual album, but then when you look underneath you really get a sense of the depth of it all.
That outfit distracts from watching what she's doing on guitar. Not being critical as I get what she's saying. Now if I could just....keep......my......eyes...on the music! ;-)
Disappointed..would have liked a band performance, may have had some energy...and gender neutral guitars ?.because a les Paul is too heavy?..how did women play all these years ?.lol....
eclectica1 yeah I understand the concept of a custom guitar, and hers is very nice..I understand some guitars are heavy, some not.i didn't know there are guitars for boys and guitars for girls, which having a gender neutral guitar suggest there are..And I don't get the sexist label..
Her guitar is gender inclusive because it allows for more "boob space". She didn't reference it in the vid because it would've been stupidly mocked by that host / it's quite obvious.
Fernando Souza yeah,I've heard of that problem before, normally with acoustic guitars when sat down playing..again,I understand custom requirements, signature guitars.her guitar is perfect for her..it seems though to make no difference to boob space.as you can see when she plays sat down..the top 'horn' is much higher than a telecaster..it's obvious...and the graham norton show is one big silly.i wouldnt have worried about it..
Yeah, like if women never played heavy guitars, or 1 or 2 kg was wayyyy to heavy for women. This bitch is a fake feminist, out there victim playing even with guitars LOL. I blame Americans, they are fat even when they are not fat, no sports, no activity, playing with 1kg guitar is to much. Lazy bunch of fat people. Discovered she's 35 and I was blown away, she doesn't look a day older than 50. Aged in dog years. She doesn't even play well , like her guitar skills are super basic
Ivan we are discussing why the hell a guitar is referred to as gender neutral. Are we pretending every men is tall and every women is short? The guitar is lighter (like so many other guitars tbh, she isn't inventing light guitars) so is good for smallest people, which has nothing to do with gender.
Stop being such a bitchy snowflake. She designed a guitar to suit her frame and the typical attributes of women. Sorry that makes you feel like a smaller man.
This is "music" lol her singing in a monotone voice and doing a 3rd grade solo and people are comparing her to freddy mecury ffs i hate this generation
Mathew Blyth She's actually a fairly accomplished guitar player. If you listen to her earlier albums her songs are pretty damn good and show off her abilities. But for some reason in the last few years she's sort of gone more into performance art and image and away from straight song-writing which personally I think is a shame.
