I have mixed feelings but it seems like no one cares as if you were standing in front of a Tsunami pointing your finger at the ocean reminding it that it has no business flooding the coastal towns and low lands...crushing everything erasing the landscape....you may have to just ride it like a wave instead of trying to stop it...LOL

@@edh615 To be exact, i wish there was some kind of way to make geometry from a picture. For example, from a realistic shaded character model, is it yet possible to create geometry from one picture? Or at least from one city picture?

@@Efotix That's something we all are waiting for. The technology is currently focused on natural language processing and generating pixel images and upscaling them and all these rudimentary tasks that need to be solved first. After that there will be solutions that focus on generating vector graphics and 3D graphics (which also work as vectors). Some of this work already exists, but has not yet been released as open source.

What it will lead too if not stopped is complete and total saturation there will be no fincial gain if everyone can with no effort have 2hat they want for free total devaluation of art or anything creative complete overwelming mess of images no surprises nothing will hold value. Complete saturation is the end of value and creativity. Nothing of value is worth it without effort or sacrifice. Ai is aniti effort and sacrifice

@@trokeanim the way i see it is this. We use ultra advanced tools everyday to create art. Unless your solely a classical artist you most likely use software to create, enhance, adjust, and expand your art. There are geniuses that create the software to allow us to expand on our creation process. Just about all professional artistist across all Art disciplines encourage using reference in art, kitbashing 3d parts together to explore ideas, referring to color references for more pleasing asthetics, and different layout compositions, stock photos/ video stock footage, etc... We have been breaking down the artistic process so we can express ourselves more effeciently for years. I dont see this as any difference. Plus this process still requires context and pompsition and planning to make something more than just a random image, video, or music. Just becuse you have access to the best tools doesn't automactically make you the best creator. But i think it is a blessing to give more people the opportunity to have access to the tools that other wise, a chosen few would be lucky enough have the previage to have access to create things beyond what they could yesterday. I think it is unrealistic to think our current approach to the way we develop different artistic experiences are at their peak. I think this technology will surprize people in how it unexpetively transforms and enhances other industries. Just because this new technology has the potential to rase the baseline it doesn't mean the whole industry will colapse. Plus in my experience, no matter how simple you make certain processes not all people will not automatically use it or have an interest for people that are not very creative may try this out souly to have fun for a bit and that is the point.

@@trokeanim im so tired of the argument that these tools lead people to laziness and creating things with no effort. Do you even know how it actually works? Every person with this argument just keeps saying the same thing without trying the actual programs - and realizing it still takes creativity and effort to make something beautiful -same as it always has.

Im grateful to finally have a way to make art and beautiful things again since i became physically disabled. I never thought I would be able again - it's like having a new life given to me

@@trokeanim I have been using stable diffusion for the past couple of days to generate images. It is not easy to get exactly what you want. One image took me over 10 hours of trial and error to actually prompt, in-paint, then modify with gimp, then in-paint again... Saying it's easy to do is false, you can't convey any image you have in your head only with a couple if words. You need to work pretty hard to get the exact thing you were trying to make in the first place.

From what I've heard, it will be the ability to create your own samples to use in music compositions.

@Concrete Without stabilityAI, we still wouldn't have access to any public model that can run on your local gpu. This is not the last kind of model that they are going to release. Video and audio are next, apparently. In my opinion, this will lead to a revolution, and revolutions go in history books.

It's like saying never upload anything to internet because you are worried about the risk that someone could in theory steal your work instead of see the potential in business to reach out to a bigger audience.

Lol you should have seen the internet 10 years ago, nobody cared about some copyrights. Copyrights are going to be soon the thing of the past, same as patents, when you can generate infinite amount of variants in very short period, things will change rapidly. Don't hold on the old principles, this is the future. Also, btw.. it didn't steal any images, AI just used it to learn concepts from these images, but they are no longer there. It is just the compressed information, intelligence that is left. So it is legal.

@@clickpwn try to prompt any artist or unusual stuff and you get quite crappy AI output. Its the quantity that makes it see patterns and understand how things or styles look like.

First of all: Neural Networks - just a tool. For humans. Without creative humans it can do nothing. NN - not AI (not intellegence), it's just matrix multiplicator, a tool like advanced calculator. Moreover: art - it's something creative with an idea and a meaning. But "Art" doesn't means "Painting". AI Art also art. Definetly not painting, but still art. Person (human) have an original idea, a wonderful image in his/her head, full of sense and feelings, knows what want to get, know how it perfectly describe but... can't drawing, so he/she take suitable instrument, not brush or filtres in Photoshop/Krita, but another tool - mathematics and alhorytms - and express their idea, their imagery with the help of this tool. And people who think it's not art just because it's done quickly and easily are just snobs and hypocrites who think that because it was difficult for them to express their ideas, it must be difficult for others. But it's not. The word painting did not come from the word pain...

@@redmastern576 I understand your point of view. But IMHO art is a form of human self-expression. And this self-expression does not have to be mandatorily linked to effort. If a person can express his creativity, ideas, and feelings without too much effort, that's no reason to judge him. This does not make what he has created any worse. It still reflects his idea, vision and thought (if it is not, of course, mindlessly poking buttons in copy-paste requests). Writing a query in such a way that you get exactly what you want in the output is not a very easy task. Often there is also img2img on top to get the details you want. And then there's postprocessing/overpainting in photoshop etc. It's not just clicking "generate" and getting a masterpiece. And I don't even mention things a little more distant from the common people, like the finetuning of a personal model to specific desired styles and imageries, which allows to create works that are not possible for others. But without a really original idea - even all this is useless, because without it you will get similar garbage that nobody is interested in.

But remember what happened when photography and cameras came around for the first time, the thousands of people that opposed cameras because they claimed them as cheating for making realistic portraits. They said there was no learning curve, no technique, nothing, it was most definitely not art by their terms. Years later they came to become the biggest fools of the century, when it was revealed that they are two completely different mediums, with different styles, different messages, different techniques and different ways of measuring artistic performance. They were stubborn claiming it was not art sure, but no one cared for them, the world just proceeded to enjoy a new form of expression that was not available before, supporting the new artists that did not have the skillsets required for great painting. Soon these artists started innovating and created other mediums such as filmography, which today moves billions, yet painted art is still its own entity, unharmed. AI is no different, if anything it is just widely accessible and cheap. There is still research and a skill curve that you seem to be underestimating with the understanding of algorithms that you claim. There will likely be no damage to the industry, as the creative process of painting and digital art is still needed for the precise conveying of certain feelings and styles. There will be further innovation towards artforms that were never seen before, and it starts with AI artists. So my message to you is this. Some good painters may express themselves on a traditional canvas, but there will always be someone to impress us painting where no one ever dared before.

This is only depressing when you have the mindset that homo sapiens are special and that we have the RIGHT to be at the top of all intelligent life, the Universe don't care about these ideas, it means nothing and you mean nothing. AI will reign supreme.
