Sherri - if you hadn't mentioned it, I would never have guessed that you were new to mixed media and art/junk journaling, much less filming yourself and all that putting out videos on RU-vid. As a former training officer working for the Department of Navy, a long-term watcher of RU-vid videos, especially mixed media journaling of all types by folks like: Rachel of roxy creations youtube, Gayle of gayle agostinelli youtube, Traci of traci fox love journals, I'm qualified to evaluate the quality of your entire process, you talent, and your personal style of teaching. I am afraid I'll have to rate you, your style of teaching, your talent, and your entire process as OUTSTANDING. I am almost half introvert and half extrovert. I use to be almost 100% introvert and painfully shy; but somewhere along the way towards 77 years, I think it was in my 30s, I broke out of my shyness and began exploring all sorts of things. As much as I love interacting with others, even speaking in public, I treasure and closely guard my personal, quiet time alone, to recharge, rest, think, and, not often enough, meditate. Hello, I found you just now and subscribed right way. this is a fantastic project. You talked about making masks. We a group of women made thousands of masks for hospitals, nursing home, offices, even for salvation army workers. it was a blessing that I could do something for others during very unknown pandemic. thank you

I'm binge watching your channel tonight. I know this is an old video so you may have already discovered a cheap paper option. I buy a roll of TRIMACO Easy Mask paper at Home Depot. Because it's on a roll, you can tear/cut it any size you want. And I love it that you talk us through each step and explain as you go. I'm a newbie, and I find lots of times people assume you know all the small details. I appreciate every detail you mention!

Late to the party...I'm new to your channel as this just popped up on my feed today. Love your work and this project is so fun! I'm a crafter, junk journaler, and vintage reseller. I'm subscribing and look forward to seeing more.

I do a lot of fine sewing, and one of my favorite tools is a spray bottle that emits a long, very fine mist. This spray bottle is greatly for gentle dampening, for opening envelope flaps, flattening toilet paper rolls, and for adding water to markers and inkers. Hair stylists use them to barely dampen hair without having to pump the water multiple times. The fine mist usually does not make watermarks, however there could certainly be applications where it could be used to intentionally add very tiny droplet marks. These misters are available at beauty supply shops, or boat Amazon.

There are so many people on RU-vid! But only a few make the grade with me...you are my newest one 😉! You have a newness that appeals so keep going, girl. You have color combinations that were easy on the eye - saw some of my papers, too. When I try to junk journal I end up fighting myself and having to keep things in tight little controlled papers. I so want to relax and do the 'junk' in the junk journal! Plus you turned to this specific hobby during Covid so you know how I feel about my hobby - a life saver. Just putting some key words in the search area on RU-vid will bring up most junk journal channels. I did a search for ‘junk journal tutorials’ & your channel popped up so it’s not just your Facebook friends! You will gain lots of new followers from RU-vid especially as your personality is infectious and makes us want to watch more & more. Love this tutorial 👍😊

You can also take glassine bags and like little cookie bags and small merchandise bags and fold them in half and use as pages and they will also be pockets

So pretty Sherri....I saw a tip on a prior youtube video that said to tea stain your paper first then copy your vintage cards so you don’t lose the integrity of the colors. Love this style of stacking envelopes and using old file folders.....getting ready to start on mine... thank you for sharing!

My head is swimming Sherri! In a good way. I'm making lists of supplies, possible papers, inserts for the pockets. Themed books such as garden would be easy with actual seeds to a snip or pic of vine to a pic of the mature fruit. Old seed packets or internet pics of seed companies, etc. Real leaves or thin twigs for the envelope covers.... I'm not a journaler but i can see a garden book as useful to record plantings and results for the year. Inserts could be Internet tips or watering instructions for certain plants. Endless!! As i make the lists, more things pop into my head - handwriting from those who have passed on, along with one of their recipes as possible inserts, their signatures on cards or parts of cards. The fun part for me is gathering ideas, supplies, papers... the journey i guess you would say - the hard part? Actually starting, hahhahaaa! Yet i have a lot of gift giving to do very soon.Ty Sherri, your inspiration may be what tips the scales for me to actually create one of these and experience "the destination"!
