Welcome to the third installment of the Stacked Envelope Junk Journal. So far, we've made the bones of the journal and mass-made window pockets with pull out tags. In this episode I'll show you a few journaling notepad booklet ideas, coffee stained paper and journal cards. Please give me a thumbs up to let me know if you like this video and wish to see more. If you don't want to miss out on the next installment be sure to subscribe (it doesn't cost a thing). I'd love to hear from you so drop me a note in the comments to let me know you stopped by.

You have some amazing ideas. I love watching you. I use fabri-tac or double sided tape to hold the acetate.

Thank you Christina. I've been at it for over a year now and have also evolved in the things I use as well. I'm sure I'll be trying something new next time...mostly because I forget what I've done if I don't watch the old videos back 😆

I’ve only just discovered you and I’m binge watching all your videos, and genuinely, I’m sat here already crafting MAKING MINI NOTEBOOKS for some stationary folders I’m making as gifts! What a coincidence! So. Many more ideas. I’d never though of using my paper that looks like wooden boards to actually make it look like a fence. Genius! I’d also never thought of buying new ledger paper and coffee dying it! I’ve been trying to buy a vintage one for years but they are all so expensive. You’re so inspirational. Thankyou so much for sharing all this with us. My minds already buzzing with ideas!

Hi Amy! Thank you again! It's so addictive isn't it? I did the same thing when I first started and was so mesmerized. I hope I will always be able to put a little twist on things and come up with new ideas. So far, I can't seem to keep up with the ideas in my head and get them out fast enough lol.

Also Bira paper punches are well made too. Supposedly, EK tool I think is the name, are the best paper punches they punch through anything.

I love how your mind works as far as coming up with different uses for things (i.e. typewriter key parts) or figuring out how to make things work for you (shipping labels). Great job!

Thank you Deb! I’m glad you’re finding the videos with more “how to”. I have a playlist for just tutorials where you’ll find all the detailed ones vs flip through a where they are just more show and tell. Thanks for watching and for your comments ❤️

More great tips, love the way you work through your ideas and do variations. I am crafting along with you but 7 months behind. I put my acetate on with double sided tape which seems to work well. I use the red version. Thanks again

I also use double sided tape ( I use Scor-Tape brand) on acetate; it does work great and you don't have to worry about the dry time.

You taught me a lot. I'm making a coffee themed journal, and your clear instructions for coffee paper is fantastic. I'm going to do that tonight. I'm curious how cardstock takes to coffee staining. Have you tried cardstock?
@heartandsoulfuldesign
@heartandsoulfuldesign 2 года назад
Thank you. I haven't tried card stock but I have done some experiments with creating a collage master board, covering it with gesso and then doing some coffee stain techniques and that is quite thick. Since my earlier videos I found Mix It Up Marcie and she's sort of the queen of coffee dyeing so you'll have to check out her channel where I'm sure you'll be very inspired for your coffee themed journal.

I love your videos...you do a really great job. Here is what I offer in terms of improvement...put a link to your previous episodes for parts 1 and 2 instead of using your time to repeat what you have already done...just refer folks to the previous videos. Just use the current video time to pick up where you left off from the last one. Peace Beverly

Hi Beverly. Thank you for the tip. This was one of my earlier videos so hopefully I've made improvements since then. I have been doing my projects now in "series" with dedicated playlists for each series and put the link to the entire series/playlist in the descriptions of each video. I think this helps. I do still do an introduction at the beginning of each video in case someone is tuning into my channel for the very first time but trying to keep them brief. 🥰

What temperature is your iron set when you iron your paper?
@heartandsoulfuldesign
@heartandsoulfuldesign 3 года назад
Hi Freida. Thanks for watching and for your question. I believe for the coffee stained paper I set my iron on a linen cotton setting. When I've put two pieces together with glue stick and want to fuse the two, I set my iron between silk and wool. When I'm ironing paper that has Mod Podge on it (as in my faux leather book page) I protect the Mod Podge side with a piece of scrim and use a silk setting. ❤️

No but I thinks that's a great idea. I had someone else recently ask me about that and the file folder tabs so I'll see what I can do to get some made up and listed soon. Thanks for asking. 🥰
