Stagg loaned this guitar to me for a review. They have not paid me and in fact in cost me time and money to collect it.
I’m a novice who’s owned 126 guitars so Stagg that a novice to novice, honest review might be useful.

I bought this guitar just for customize: I love Telecaster but it's hard to find one with good access to the lower frets, without the big bolted block in the union of neck and body. I changed the pickups & the hardware and take advantage of the split coil, and now I got a light and versatile superTELE.

Hi Rich! Thanks for sharing your experience with us again. Honestly this one did no impression on me, the guitar is lacking something. I liked the strat style better. But it's how it is, not everything can be perfect :) Good job anyways and thanks to Stagg for samples provided!

For sure, I agree. I had to hand it and the other Stagg guitars (have you seen those reviews too? What do you think?) back to Stagg. I did tell the guy the strings were poor , the guitar had been in and out of his car boot for 6 months 🙈 Thank you for watching and commenting, much appreciated

Great review. Thanks ! Can I ask why you would get this over a squier bullet ? Personally I'm a beginner that can finger pick ans acoustic a little. Would like to try an electric guitar for soft blues. Tele, Strat, Lez... any advice?

Hi Rod, Thank you for the kind words and for tuning in. I have lots of Squier and Harley Benton reviews on a playlist that may interest you. This guitar has a number of higher spec features such as a bone nut (better for tuning stability), a roasted maple neck (feels lovely), a humbucker for crunchy tones but can be split to sound like a single coil (more versatile sound options than the Bullet), it has a angled cut-away for the neck joint (better access to higher frets) and it's lighter. I've owned 9 Bullets and they are great too much you get more for your money with the Stagg. Let me know what you decide. Rich

this guitar has one or too advantages over other low budget teles, like the split coil humbucker, low weight, bone nut preferably the maple fretboard and yet it doesn't get much attention...I wonder why 🤔

Are the fretboard and setup from factory good enough ? Any major issues ( buzzing or anything else)? A budget guitar so you know that it won't feel like an expensive one but you expect that. I'm a starter and I just want to get second guitar with careful work on it however. Can this one do the job? P.s: I also like a lot to practice without amp , so I like the guitar not to buzz even that way .
@thenovicenoisemaker
@thenovicenoisemaker Год назад
Hi Manos It was set up well enough to play. Action was a bit high but that was fixed with a few turns of the truss rod. I think this does the job just fine but as with all guitars, especially budget guitars, they will vary. Thank you for watching

@manosg7325 Год назад
@@thenovicenoisemaker I got kinda used to play with a quite high action as my first guitar was setup a bit like that . Maybe I will also use this new guitar to experiment myself with the truss rod and the action since it's not that expensive to be afraid of . Thanks for your answer!

@@thenovicenoisemaker Do you know if this particular guitar had 9 gauge strings from factory(as most telecasters)? Because when I change them with new ones , I should probably put the same gauge , otherwise there might be a problem with the setup right? ( In my first guitar I use 10 gauge)

I tested this Stagg a month ago but put it back in the guitar stand after 2 minutes. Visually a very nice guitar but the sound was dead. The pickups are very sensitive to feedback and the guitar is not comfortable in the hand. The Stagg is a wall mounted guitar. No more. I have 4 Harley Benton guitars in my large guitar collection. There the quality is far above that of Stagg and often even Squier.
@thenovicenoisemaker
@thenovicenoisemaker 2 года назад
Hi Dave I’m inclined to agree. I’ve owned 31 HB’s and 33 Squiers and their quality all round is generally more consistent and higher.

Of course you can say "Telecaster". Brands who do not own a trademark may not use it to their benefit, they may not say "buy our Telecaster copy", but reviewers are not restricted unless they want their reviews to be included on the copying brand's website. 2.5 Kg is extremely light for a Telecaster shaped body which is a lot of wood. My Ibanez S521, thinnest guitar I know, weighs that much. Or did you buy the cheapest "made in China" luggage scale you could find? I have one of these and it's the same junk as that 1.5€ Chinese tuning fork I got which gives me an A at 454Hz (that's about a quarter tone sharp - unusable). The wood looks good but the roasting is more like a mild sun tan. I doubt it will do anything for neck stability. Is the nut made out of kitten bone? I always wondered what they kill to make them. Or maybe it's woolly mammoth from the Sibirian permafrost… A good strap should work against neck dive. Cheap nylon stuff will slide over clothing.
@thenovicenoisemaker

You make me laugh, kitten bone 😂. Nothing wrong with my weighing scale, this thing is crazy light. I had an S521, love those skinny dudes, my S771PB was a stunner too

The right pedal and amp can make a weak guitar sound pretty good all things considered. I have a few "budget" guitars, and I love them all, but some do lack a good sound. An EQ pedal can make a lot of difference.
