Join me for a walk around the heart of the 'finest stone town in Britain', the gorgeous Lincolnshire market town of Stamford! Once upon a time one of the largest, most influential and most powerful towns in England, Stamford is filled to the brim with history on every corner of its compact, and utterly beautiful historic town centre - notable for its extensive collection of 18th-century Georgian stone architecture!
On our walk around Stamford, we pass a number of interesting landmarks including the River Welland, the Town Bridge, Stamford Town Hall, St. Mary's Church, The Stamford Vaults, Stamford Theatre, Stamford Arts Centre, St. George's Church, the Church of St. Michael the Greater, Stamford Farmer's Market, High Street, Stamford Market, Ironmonger Street, Broad Street, Stamford Corn Exchange, Browne's Hospital, St. John the Baptist's Church, All Saints' Church, All Saints' Brewery, Red Lion Square, Horse Shoe Lane, Sheepmarket, Stamford Eleanor Cross Sculpture, the remains of Stamford Castle, and The Meadows.

Another interesting video, we’ve only visited Stamford the once in 2012, my wife was a member of the Huddersfield Choral Society at the time and as a long time member was invited to the opening of the Malcolm Sargent Room in the old town hall as she had been a member when Sir Malcolm was he conductor of the choir. We drove down the night before and stayed at the Bull and Swan on High Street Saint Martin’s up the hill in the opposite direction to where you stared your walk, Stamford is certainly an impressive town.

If you play the video at 0.25 playback speed the narrator sounds intoxicated! 🤪🍻

Very interesting. So many other walks don’t give any commentary so I appreciate what I am seeing with your excellent history.
