Stamp Battery Operating At Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally

This five head stamp battery was built by G. Kay at Stawell and is operated at the Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally near Ballarat, Victoria.
The battery is driven by a Clayton & Shuttleworth portable steam engine which was previously working in a NSW chaff mill.
The Wilfley table is powered by a Hindley single cylinder steam engine, restored by David Broadbent of Adelaide.
Special thanks to the folks at the Sons of Freedom Gold Mine exhibit for starting up the stamp battery so I could film, and to Ashcat, Roni, Clint, Jo and Ro for an excellent day out at the Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally.

G'day, in Bendigo during the gold rush there were stamping machine everywhere and on a Sunday they were turned off, the lack of constant noise caused many unable too sleep they were so use too the noise through the week, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.

Thompson in Castlemaine made lots of stampers that were sent all over the country and the world. The drawings for them are at the Maldon machinery museum 😁👍

That is a pretty good display that one and that is exactly where I saw you yesterday. I didn't pay much attention to what was on the Wilfley table but have seen it working very well at past rallies. Keep all the great content coming, I find it is of great interest.
