Stamped Cookies - How to Use IOD Stamps on Royal Icing and Fondant

Not just for DIY home decor - IOD stamps can double as cookie stamps (just don't use the same set for DIY home decor)!
Here's a simple way to make "fancy" cookies for weddings, baby showers, holidays, and all your other special occasions. Using royal icing or fondant, shaped sugar cookies, and oil-based food coloring, you can easily get detailed cookie designs and cookie decorations. This technique works well for professional bakers as well as home bakers - so easy anyone can make these beautiful cookies.

Could black food dye be used for an outline stamp of say a flower and once dry be painted in with color without the black running?

It works nicely...you just have to be careful when you color the inside... especially it's a small area, use thin brush

So sorry, but if an item is not sold as food safe it is not actually legal to use it on food. Also, I have never tasted paint... but not sure it would be great. Your cookies look amazing, but I would use coloring gel or edible crayons.

Here's we're using Color Mill oil-based food coloring ❤️ If you Google them you can find a few places they're sold. Hope that helps!

We used fondant which will roll smooth with a rolling pin. We also used royal icing which is a thick liquid so we outline the cookie first and then fill in the space and the liquid icing will settle to a flat surface.

Do you mean the acrylic sheet the stamp sticks to? You can use an IOD thin mount or you can just cut the stamps out on the backing they come with and use that as your mount. :)
