I appreciate your posts about coffee because you truly validate me. I grew up Mormon and therefore not drinking any coffee. When I left my Christian beliefs I started drinking coffee and, without knowing, started doing IF by skipping breakfast and lunch, and having coffee and tea instead. I lost weight and felt and looked my best EVER, but then I got sciatica and that pretty much destroyed everything for me. 10 years later I’m 60 pounds heavier and I am brainwashed now with a raw vegan style diet that I continue to fail and I am utterly sedentary. I thought this morning, I’m not going to eat breakfast and maybe start intermittent fasting, but around lunch I was ready to break my fast. Instead, I made a big mug of coffee and I started watching RU-vid channel and found you-I just subscribed and to your IG. Thank you for sharing what works for you; I had forgotten what worked for me in the past, but I’m ready to start listening to my body again. The videos about salt are also important. Much love!

No one talks about water it's 2nd most important thing for us. You guys need my water I make. The salt your looking for is baking soda or sodium bicarbonate. It's an electrolyte salt which is needed for energy production by cells. Also it cuts down lactic acid in your muscles when working out. Water is nasty just easy to get. You need distilled water that has 0 ppm filtered water has 300ppm that's part per million of blood, pee, poop, pills you name it. Distilled water is a fancy name for pure water. You take a gallon of pure water and add you electrolytes back in. Magnesium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, and potassium bicarbonate. And use ascorbic acid as a catalyst to convert your magnesium. This is true Gatorade. An electrolyte salt Is what all those ingredients are. SALT. GATORADE HAS NONE. bicarbonate means it's bio available to your body. SALT is the key to life I saw this many years ago. It is the great preserver we got paid in salt that's were the word salary comes from. In Leonardo's painting the last supper the salt is spilled over. If the ocean was not salt the Earth wouldn't have so much energy.

Um, total BS that table salt is the same as natural/real salt. "Caking agents" don't matter? Uh, they matter, especially over time. And especially if you're eating a lot of it, lol. And those "insignificant" amounts of minerals in the real salt, well, maybe consider quality over quantity. Honestly, just because you're all bulked up, that doesn't mean your health is all that. I'm sitting here wondering why you look like ppl with high-blood pressure, all red in the face and neck. And your eyes don't look well. Kinda red/yellow, and glazed over. Not nice, clear and white like Delauer's eyes. You also have a bit of crinkling tween the eyes, and that's a liver thing. I'm thinkin' those "caking agents" and maybe too many franken substances (table salt) and maybe an excess of supplements are all creepin' up on ya'. Try respecting the wisdom of nature over your often-wrong science-y ones. Hint, see what they've done to our planet with all their franken sh*t.

Please do a video on calcific tendonitis and stuff like Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis) caused by vitamin D-3 overdose mixed with insufficient magnesium and vitamin K2 (should we take MK-4 and MK-7 or the latter only?). Oddly I had this for the 1st time ever recently, after less than 15 days taking D-3 10K IU + 200 mcg K2 MK-7, plus magnesium. And 22 mg zinc picolinate, 2 mg of cooper and 1 g of vitamin C. However my D levels are (measured today) 34 ng/DL. Once I discontinued supplements, the pain started to go away (it's not 100% gone, I predict it will next 15-30 days). My suspicious is that being inactive + loading on D3 revealed a repetitive strain injury that was bound to be there somewhere in the future. I stopped going to a gym ever since this COVID crisis started and spend most of my time using a PC. I also bought BORON 3 mg from NOW, to start supplementing sooner. I plan to increase magnesium from supplements, cut on dairy/calcium from diet and buy a new K2 bottle. No more D-3 in doses higher than 2000 IU daily.

Beyond that id like to hear about how the side effects of appetite increases effects insulin and other hormones, especially when fasted. I remember it was going on for companies looking into appetite suppression(for diabetes) and increase( for cancer patients). Maybe some suggestions on better times of day to "med up" in conjunction with fasting, eating, or exercising [ i can't do HIT, only LIT].

How do i know how much salt i need in my diet? and which salt should i intake? This is gonna sound like a cop out answer. It took me awhile to realize that sometimes my cravings for salty, crunchy foods was actually a need for more water. Likewise, I noticed that sweet cravings were a need for more salt. I started making my own pink salt capsules and potassium capsules. I am doing keto and quickly realized that the tiny amounts of potassium in electrolyte mixes were not gonna cut it. I also take magnesium glycinate and calcium. Sorry for the redundancy. I commented before I watched the whole video.

(Just be aware, typically potassium citrate is capped at 99 mg but other forms you can purchase in a higher mg dose.) Kudos getting that much potassium. I lowered my sodium down to around 2000mg and I stopped having heart palpitations, headaches and many other dehydration symptoms, sleep issues, low energy and fatigue, excessive cramping, pretty much fixed everything. Wasn’t overweight when these things happened always had a very physical job so I am in shape and I eat clean. I think what people miss with the sodium debate is the potassium to sodium ratio which is what helped me a lot. But maybe I’m just sodium sensitive idk

No mention of getting a blood test. I realize that magnesium is mostly found in our organ cells but even so, wouldn't getting routine metabolic panels help inform someone's salt supplementation? For example, my sodium levels have been running around 131 to 136 when the normal range is 137 to 145. Same for chloride: 95 to 99 with a normal range of 98 to 107. When I ask about this with my doctor, their eyes glaze over. All of them -- specialists, GPs, etc.... I recently had a short arrythmia drinking a cold smoothie and it left me with continuous palpitations. It is only now improving because I have started to add salt to my diet for the first time ever. But only thanks to my having gotten the metabolic panel blood tests.

Thomas, can you clarify something? In a video you did 3 years ago with Stan Efferding, titled "How LOW Salt Intake Makes You GAIN Fat", you equated iodized table salt with low quality restaurant salt, which can leave you feeling bloated, etc. In that video, you also recommended taking Redmond's real salt. But, in this video, Stan says there's really not much difference. Has the science been update to Stan's view, or have you changed your stance on this? I have been getting treated for hypothyroidism for a couple of years now, and I'm trying to find the culprit. I'm otherwise healthy and fairly well-built (former drug-free bodybuilder with 2 State championships and a National championship). Any guidance is much appreciated.

I've lost 100lbs in 3 months and 200lbs in 9months with keto/gym work-all while doing blood work at VA just in case I was doing it wrong. Congrats on your weight loss! I would suggest a green shake-this will lower your BP-so good for your blood/heart. The ingredients are important-go to whole foods or wherever you can get organic greens. I go there twice a month, load up the greens and then put them in like six medium tupperware containers and put in freezer (fridge and they go bad). This what I get, two batches of organic beets with a lot of healthy leaves (I toss the beats-too much sugar/fructose, I keep the leaves-tremendous potassium)-I use 2-3 leaves per container, 2-3 batches of organic red dandelion leaves-use 1/2-1 cup per container (container I'm talking about is what you would put in each green shake), one thing of organic kale, organic parsley, organic brussel sprouts, organic asparagus, organic baby spinach, turmeric root, ginger root (1tbsp-container). I also add organic chia seeds, organic wheat grass, ACV, black pepper (for the turmeric), sea salt, cinnamon, little bit of cream of tartar, 2 cups of alkaline water from costco and a good healthy pea protein (chocolate)-1 scoop to kill the taste of the health ingredients. This makes about 40+ ounces so I put it into two cups. I have one right then and put the other in the fridge for the next days 1 st meal. I will have it after my walk/weight training, but absolutely my first meal. Gives you great energy and is great for the blood/heart. I also just chug it calmly, takes about 40 seconds and I'm done with it. It kicks in about 30 mins later, I then have a good solid 2 nd meal with pastured raised eggs, onion, crimini mushrooms, bacon, ghee butter and sriracha avocado mayo-very tasty and it satisfies me. Good luck with your weight loss.

Brilliant video. You’ve helped me enormously. Now I understand why I feel better with more Himalayan salt in my water. Thanks!

I love these 2 guys! I watch every video that they're in and post. I love to see 2 or more of my favorites doing a joint video. Us that are constantly looking to improve our lifting and workouts can improve our performance by watching and learning from people such as these 2. Thank you, guys, for all that you do for us!

You are probably not getting enough potassium then? Sodium and potassium numbers affect each other. High in in one will knock out the other unless you are getting in a lot of both.

probably cut down on salt and increase potassium intake instead

Wait, after listening to the rest of this, Thomas, you say, "I totally agree" that table salt is a goodie? Hmm, well look what I found that you said 5 yrs ago about "unopposed sodium." Is that no longer a thing? lol. Sodium: Which Salt Minimizes Water Retention? - Thomas DeLauer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ztFWDp_zy40.html

I think it also matters HUGELY on what type of salt! Those that are salt sensitive I think is in part also due to the type of regular grocery store iodized salt! This is not the salt our bodies need!

I dont get it, Stan diet and nutrition is complete opposite to your keto diets, Stan is absolutely right and I follow his advice religiously as his first goal is to give correct nutritional advice to ppl and business secondary which is contradictory to your channel that revolves on whatever sells for your bottom line, must be hard truth for you to accept!
